2024 Will Be a Year of Catastrophic War in the Middle East<\/h2>\n

The war in the Middle East that began in 2023 is going to go to an entirely new level in 2024.\u00a0 As you will see below, fighting along Israel\u2019s northern border has escalated significantly in recent days, and this is causing a great deal of concern.<\/p>\n

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has publicly stated that he plans to finish the conflict in the south before dealing with Hezbollah, but he may not have a choice in the matter.\u00a0 Hezbollah forces continue to fire at targets in northern Israel and the IDF continues to carry out strikes in response. …<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, we are being told that an IDF airstrike on Damascus has killed\u00a0a senior Iranian military commander<\/a>\u2026<\/p>\n

A senior officer in Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was killed in an alleged Israeli airstrike in the Syrian capital of Damascus, Iranian media reports.<\/p>\n

Razi Mousavi \u201cwas killed during an attack by the Zionist regime a few hours ago in Zeinabiyah district in the suburbs of Damascus,\u201d the official IRNA news agency reports, using a different name for Sayeda Zeinab, or Sitt Zaynab as it is more commonly called, south of the Syrian capital.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Iranians are absolutely furious about this.<\/p>\n

We are much closer to a point of no return than most people realize. …<\/p>\n

Once the war in the south is finished, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that the IDF will push Hezbollah north of the Litani River.<\/p>\n

Hezbollah will never pull back to the Litani River willingly, and so a catastrophic conflict between Israel and Hezbollah is coming.<\/p>\n

As long-time readers of this COGwriter Church of God page are aware, for years I have warned that I expect a major regional war involving Israel.<\/p>\n

And that is because of a prophecy involving what looks to be a type of peace deal prophesied in Daniel 9:27. That prophecy has a seven-year time element associated with it and leads to the return of Jesus.<\/p>\n

Last month, somewhat related to that, Harbinger Daily<\/em> posted the following:<\/p>\n

Will This Time Of War In Israel Pave The Way For A Time Of Counterfeit Peace?<\/h2>\n

Last month, Prime Minister Netanyahu\u00a0quoted<\/a>\u00a0the book of Ecclesiastes, declaring, \u201cThe Bible says there\u2019s a time for peace and a time for war. This is a time for war.\u201d\u00a0…<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But what about peace? This may seem like a very strange time to talk about peace in the Middle East. Yet some experts are saying that this current war will actually pave the way for an expanded peace.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s an ironic twist. Iran unleashed Hamas, many believe, to torpedo and derail the\u00a0peace talks between Israel and Saudi Arabia<\/a>. Yet some are saying that, in the end, this may ultimately accelerate that process.<\/p>\n

The Bible tells us that the event that starts the coming seven-year tribulation period, the time of Jacob\u2019s trouble, is a covenant that the Antichrist, the final world ruler,\u00a0will make with many<\/a>\u00a0in the land of Israel.<\/p>\n

We know it will involve some kind of peace agreement, because Daniel 9:27<\/a> describes the covenant allowing Israel sovereignty, the rebuilding of a temple, and the renewing of their sacrifices on the temple mount. For that to happen, there has to be a peace guarantee.<\/p>\n

Daniel 9:27<\/a> says, \u201cAnd he [this coming prince\/Antichrist] shall confirm the covenant with many for one week [seven years]\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Hamas\u2019 attack against Israel may have seemed to destroy all hope of peace, but remember what has happened in Israel\u2019s past. Egypt was the most aggressive enemy against Israel after they were founded in 1948. Egypt, with four other nations, attacked Israel in that war of independence. Egypt also fought the Suez War with Israel in 1956. Egypt was part of the Six-Day War in 1967, in which Israel fought with the surrounding nations. In 1973, Syria and Egypt attacked Israel on Yom Kippur, the most holy day on the Jewish calendar (50 years plus one day later is when this Hamas attack occurred on October 7th).<\/p>\n

Out of the Yom Kippur War in 1973, it looked like all hopes of peace were over; a mere four years later, Israel and Egypt began to engage in in-depth peace talks. Out of a terrible war in what looked like a hopeless situation in 1973, Israel had peace with Egypt in 1979. Israel gave up the Sinai to get that peace, and it has been maintained since then. Jordan also got on board and has had peace with Israel since 1994.<\/p>\n

Many looking at what\u2019s happening today are saying that when the chaos and conflict are finally over, people will be clamoring and yearning for peace, and it will make peace even more likely than before.<\/p>\n

Last week, Time Magazine published the article \u201cHow Peace in the Middle East Can Still Be Reached<\/a>.\u201d The report is from several longtime advocates for Mideast peace who are both Democrats and Republicans.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe that a silver lining could eventually emerge from the\u00a0shocking invasion<\/a>\u00a0of Israel by Hamas and the tragic slaughter of over 1,300 civilians,\u201d the article states. \u201cDespite Hamas\u2019 intention to prevent wider Mideast peace from emerging from the Biden Administration\u2019s effort to broker normalization between Israel and Saudi Arabia, and Saudi\u2019s\u00a0mixed signals<\/a>\u00a0on their\u00a0willingness to move<\/a>\u00a0forward, we believe a deal between Israel and Saudi Arabia could yet take place and that Hamas\u2019 murderous rampage could paradoxically accelerate regional peace once Hamas is defeated.\u201d<\/p>\n

This may actually be paving the way for a greater peace.<\/p>\n

\u201cHamas\u2019 invasion does not change the tectonic shifts sweeping across the Middle East,\u201d the article goes on to say. \u201cIf anything, a lasting defeat of Hamas may end up removing obstacles that have long stood in the way of regional peace.\u201d https:\/\/harbingersdaily.com\/will-this-time-of-war-in-israel-pave-the-way-for-a-time-of-counterfeit-peace\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
