Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic hosted the ceremony and accompanied Xi Jinping who inspected the troops and greeted officials from both sides. Some 15,000 Serbian citizens gathered at the government building plaza, waving Chinese and Serbian flags. After the ceremony, the heads of state held bilateral talks. President Xi said under the new circumstances, Serbia has become the first European country to build a community with a shared future with China, demonstrating the strategic, special and high-level nature of the bilateral relationship. President Xi Jinping said China fully supports Serbia&#8217;s independence and the development path aligned with its national conditions, along with efforts to uphold Serbia&#8217;s national sovereignty and integrity. He said both countries would continue robust mutual support, deepen their strategic cooperation, and safeguard their respective political security and fundamental interests. President Xi outlined the benefits of practical cooperation between China and Serbia, highlighting successful projects in Belt and Road cooperation such as the Hungary-Serbia railway. He mentioned the forthcoming China-Serbia free trade agreement, effective from July 1, that will initiate a new stage of high-level mutual openness. China plans to expand imports of Serbian agricultural products and has committed to inviting 300 young Serbians to China for educational exchanges over the next three years, enhancing cultural ties. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.news-journal.com\/biztoday-serbia-china-ties-xi-visit\/video_15f77116-3079-5480-bbc6-27ebe5cc52ba.html\">https:\/\/www.news-journal.com\/biztoday-serbia-china-ties-xi-visit\/video_15f77116-3079-5480-bbc6-27ebe5cc52ba.html<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The German news source <em>Deutsche Welle<\/em> published the following:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h2 class=\"sc-ivDvhZ iBEcrE sc-iJfdHH djgAGb sc-jIQHsi VsLvM sc-ZiJuh dCQQTg sc-eAmRia bwLwJN\">Visiting Serbia, China&#8217;s Xi boosts &#8216;ironclad&#8217; relationship<\/h2>\n<p>8 May 2024<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>Chinese President Xi Jinping&#8217;s trip to the Western Balkan state strengthens the so-called steel friendship that has developed between Beijing and Belgrade. In Serbia, China is seen as the strongest ally after Russia. &#8230;<br \/>\nTheir main interest: economic ties. Thanks to a huge Chinese loan equivalent to \u20ac3.2 billion ($3.4 million), <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/serbia\/t-19068624\">Serbia<\/a> is currently building 5,000 kilometers (about 3,100 miles) of sewers and 159 wastewater treatment plants, which even Belgrade is still lacking.<\/p>\n<p>Chinese companies also operate a huge steelworks in central Serbia, a smelt mill and copper mine in the country&#8217;s east and a tire plant in the north. &#8230;<\/p>\n<h3>Serbia gives China access to the EU<\/h3>\n<p>Chinese companies have long used Serbia as a gateway to the EU market. Though the Balkan country has trade agreements with Brussels, it&#8217;s not subject to all of the EU&#8217;s strict rules, as it&#8217;s not a member of the bloc. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>The Serbian president,\u00a0TV cameras in tow, always tends to be present at the opening of Chinese-built infrastructure projects, such as a bridge in the Serbian capital, a new highway section\u00a0or even a railway line between the Hungarian capital, Budapest, and Belgrade.<\/p>\n<p>The Budapest-Belgrade line is to be extended via North Macedonia to the major Greek port of Piraeus, which has established itself as China&#8217;s bridgehead to the EU market over the past 15 years. The idea is that it should be a\u00a0major connector to <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/chinas-belt-and-road-initiative\/t-65694522\">China&#8217;s Belt and Road Initiative<\/a>, a massive global infrastructure project.<\/p>\n<p>Stefan Vladisavljev of the Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence said China has become one of the &#8220;pillars&#8221; of infrastructure and economic development in Serbia over the past 15 years. This is in keeping with the Serbian government&#8217;s narrative of wanting to provide progress, jobs and higher wages.<\/p>\n<h3>China is Serbia&#8217;s second-biggest trade partner<\/h3>\n<p>After Germany, China is Serbia&#8217;s second-largest trading partner. While the trade deficit with Germany amounted to half a billion euros last year, with China it equaled \u20ac3.4 billion.<\/p>\n<p>A free-trade agreement between Serbia and China,\u00a0set to come into effect in July, aims to\u00a0change this discrepancy. Vucic has said the main aim is to sell more vegetables, fruit, spirits and wine to the Chinese.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;steel friendship,&#8221; as both Beijing and Belgrade have described their relationship, was bolstered at the beginning of the <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/covid-19\/t-62123668\">COVID-19 pandemic<\/a>, said Vladisavljev, when China sent large quantities of face\u00a0masks and, eventually, vaccines. These shipments have\u00a0remained in people&#8217;s minds. In contrast, said Vladisavljev, the aid sent by the EU to combat the virus, which amounted to more than \u20ac100 million, hardly got a mention in the media.<\/p>\n<p>These increased ties with China come on top of Serbia&#8217;s traditional strong relations with Russia, which\u00a0Vucic has maintained despite officially wanting to lead his country into the EU.<\/p>\n<p>Serbia, which has refused\u00a0to recognize the <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/kosovo-celebrates-15-years-of-independence\/a-64747727\">independence of neighboring Kosovo<\/a>, has received support for this stance from Russia and China \u2014 both veto powers in the UN Security Council. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Serbians consider China to be their country&#8217;s second-closest ally, after Russia, with the EU and the US lagging far behind. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/visiting-serbia-chinas-xi-boosts-ironclad-relationship\/a-69026385\">https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/visiting-serbia-chinas-xi-boosts-ironclad-relationship\/a-69026385<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The European Union was supposed to be the way that Serbia was to progress economically, but it has continued to drag its feet related Serbian membership.<\/p>\n<p>Serbia has continued to take steps its government feels necessary to improve its economy.<\/p>\n<p>Ties with China has been one of them.<\/p>\n<p>Plus, it has not lost its long standing connections to Russia.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the nations in the Western Balkan region, including Serbia, have waited for a long time to be in the EU, and many expected that process would be completed&#8211;or at least much further along than it is by now.<\/p>\n<p>Probably because of the delays, Serbia has also made deals with Russia and the Russian-dominated Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) (e.g. <a title=\"Permanent Link to Iran praises Eurasian Economic Union, Serbia enters its deal with the EAEU, and China\u2019s connection: Is the time of the Gentiles approaching?\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/news\/prophecy\/iran-praises-eurasian-economic-union-serbia-enters-a-deal-with-the-eaeu-and-chinas-connection-is-the-time-of-the-gentiles-approaching\/\" rel=\"bookmark\">Iran praises Eurasian Economic Union, Serbia enters its deal with the EAEU, and China\u2019s connection: Is the time of the Gentiles approaching?<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The EU wants the Balkans, not only because they are part of Europe but because they do not want Serbia to remain an ally of Russia. The Serbs fought against the Axis powers (which included Germany, Bulgaria, and Italy) in WWII. The Germans would prefer to have some control over Serbia and do not want to fight the Serbs in the future.<\/p>\n<p>There are divisions among the EU states about expansion and many other issues. Of course, division in Europe was prophesied as the following in the Book of Daniel shows:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"Component-root-0-2-68 p Component-p-0-2-59\">41 Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter&#8217;s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. 42 And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. 43 As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. (Daniel 2:41-43)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>However, Daniel also prophesied that the European Beast power will expand to the south and the east:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>9 And out of one of them came a little horn which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the Glorious Land. 10 And it grew up to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and some of the stars to the ground, and trampled them. 11 He even exalted himself as high as the Prince of the host; and by him the daily sacrifices were taken away, and the place of His sanctuary was cast down. 12 Because of transgression, an army was given over to the horn to oppose the daily sacrifices; and he cast truth down to the ground. He did all this and prospered. (Daniel 8:9-12).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And while the above had a past fulfillment, this prophecy seems to be dual (compare with Daniel 11:27-39). The European Union has mainly expanded south and east of the Benelux nations (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg)\u2013which is where it initially formed.<\/p>\n<p>The Balkans are south and east of the Benelux nations.<\/p>\n<p>In the old Radio Church of God, the late evangelist Dr. Hoeh taught that this little horn of Daniel 8 was the power that would become the final King of the North:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Turn in your Bible to verse 9: \u201cAnd out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.\u201d \u2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>The King of the North<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The little horn in Daniel 8 is none other than the LAST KING of one of the four divisions of Alexander\u2019s Empire. He is, in fact, the final \u201cKing of the North\u201d described in Daniel 11. (Hoeh H. The 2300 Days. Plain Truth, August 1965)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The European Union has demonstrated a history and willingness to enlarge\u2013and it is interested in the Balkans, Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia. The USA keeps encouraging all of this, but this will not end well for the USA (cf. The Serbs also worked with Russia in WWII against Hitler\u2019s forces. Serbia is considered significantly stronger militarily than many countries with similar populations.<a href=\"#_edn1\" name=\"_ednref1\">[i]<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Bible tells of a son of Shem named Elam (Genesis 10:22). History shows that there were also numerous tribes of Elamites.<a href=\"#_edn2\" name=\"_ednref2\">[ii]<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Yet researchers have concluded:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Any attempt to trace the Elamites ethnologically is beset with difficulties.<a href=\"#_edn3\" name=\"_ednref3\">[iii]<\/a><\/p>\n<p>That being said, some Elamites are believed to have been the progenitors of the Serbs,<a href=\"#_edn4\" name=\"_ednref4\">[iv]<\/a> but some part of the Medes (from Madai) may also have been involved.<\/p>\n<p>According to Herodotus, there were numerous tribes of the Medes.<a href=\"#_edn5\" name=\"_ednref5\">[v]<\/a> And originally, this was a reference to a geographic region, and not ethnicity<a href=\"#_edn6\" name=\"_ednref6\">[vi]<\/a> which included areas that the Elamites were believed to have lived in.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Pliny the Younger in his work <em>Plinii Caecilii Secundi Historia naturalis<\/em> from the first century AD (69-75) mentioned people named Serboi, who lived near the Cimmerians, presumably on the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">[In the 2nd century (around 175 AD), the Egyptian Greek scientist Claudius Ptolemy mentioned in his Geography people named Serboi or Sirboi, who presumably lived behind the Caucasus, in the hinterland of the Caspian Sea.]<a href=\"#_edn7\" name=\"_ednref7\">[vii]<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It is likely that the Serbs were an Elamite and\/or Median tribe. Croatians <em>may<\/em> have come from a different tribe. Some consider that the Serbs and Croatians had the same (or very similar ancestry) but became divided because of culture, geography, and religion: Croatians being more Roman Catholic and Serbs more Russian Orthodox.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Croatia was part of the old \u2018Holy Roman Empire,\u2019 but Serbia was not.<\/p>\n<p>Historically, the Croatians have been more supportive of Germany than Russia. It is likely that they will remain that way. Serbia has tended to back Russia more than Croatia.<\/p>\n<p>Even though Serbia looks to be a nation that will support Europe for a time, it appears likely that Serbia will be part of the force that will back Russia against end time Babylon, (Ezekiel 32:24-28; Jeremiah 51:11, 27-32). &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Italy and Greece are currently in the European Union and North Macedonia has applied to be.<\/p>\n<p>All of them are expected to support the final Beast power. They will have the temporal financial benefits as well as the plagues (Revelation chapters 15 &amp; 16) and destruction (e.g. Revelation chapter 18; Jeremiah 50:41-46) that will affect the coming European Beast superstate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Albania and Kosovo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Albanians seem to have derived from Lud (Genesis 10:22) or Canaan (Genesis 10:6).<\/p>\n<p>Albania has applied to be part of the European Union. Despite an Islamic population majority, Albania looks likely to support the coming European Beast superstate. Albania\u2019s currency, called the Lek, is pegged at a fixed rate to the euro.<\/p>\n<p>Though some Kosovars descended from Elam (Genesis 10:22) as many Serbs live there, Kosovo also has an Islamic population majority of people of Albanian heritage.<\/p>\n<p>Before the formal introduction of the euro, which Kosovo now uses, many Kosovars used Germany\u2019s Deutsche Mark as their currency.<\/p>\n<p>Kosovo is recognized by the European Union as a potential candidate for accession and looks likely to support the coming European Beast superstate.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#_ednref1\" name=\"_edn1\">[i]<\/a> 2022 Serbia Military Strength.
