COGwriter<\/a><\/p>\n Finally got some more recent information on the size of Gerald Flurry’s improperly named Philadelphia Church of God<\/a> (cf. Revelation 3:9).\u00a0 This came from a pre-FOT news item <\/em>:<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n Last January, Stephen Flurry stated that PCG had a worldwide attendance of “about 5500.”\u00a0 So either some have been lost or about 15%\u00a0 of its membership was not expected to attend the Feast of Tabernacles<\/a>.<\/p>\n Whether 4700 or 5500, this shows that PCG is apparently 4th in size amongst groups with origins in the old WCG (excluding GCI, which no longer claims<\/em> to be a COG).\u00a0 Because of its extra-biblical requirements for membership, etc., I am hesitant to conclude that PCG is actually a COG.<\/p>\n I expect to report more statistics on various COGs later as I run into more information.<\/p>\n Some articles of possibly related interest may include the following:<\/em><\/p>\n Teachings Unique to the Philadelphia Church of God<\/a> Simply calling oneself ‘Philadelphia’ does not make one so (see Revelation 3:7-9), nor does Gerald Flurry calling himself “that prophet” or a variety of other titles make it so.
