COP29: World leaders meet in Baku, with big names missing<\/h2>\n

The two-day World Leaders Action Summit at COP29<\/a> got under way on Tuesday in Baku, Azerbaijan, with around 100 leaders taking part, although there are some noticeable absentees.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The top priority at this year’s summit is expected to be landing a deal to boost funding for climate action<\/a> in developing countries. …<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The leaders of the 13 biggest emitters of carbon \u2014 countries responsible for more than 70% of 2023’s heat-trapping gases \u2014 will not appear at this year’s gathering.<\/p>\n

Chinese President Xi Jinping, US President Joe Biden, and also India’s Narendra Modi and France’s Emmanuel Macron are among G20 leaders skipping the event.<\/p>\n

“It’s symptomatic of the lack of political will to act. There’s no sense of urgency,” climate scientist Bill Hare told the Associated Press. …<\/p>\n

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres warned that time was running out in the fight against climate change.<\/p>\n

“We are in the final countdown to limit the global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius,” Guterres said.<\/p>\n

“And time is not on our side,” he added.<\/p>\n

The Paris Agreement<\/a>, a legally binding climate treaty signed by 196 countries after COP21 in 2015, calls for\u00a0limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees compared to pre-industrial levels.<\/p>\n

However, this goal looks increasingly unlikely to be met.\u00a0This year the limit is expected to be exceeded for the first time, while the target is a multi-year average.<\/p>\n

Guterres described 2024 as “a masterclass in climate destruction.” https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/cop29-world-leaders-meet-in-baku-with-big-names-missing\/a-70762139<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Since scripture points to higher heat coming (Revelation 16:9), the Bible shows that COP29 (even if it were more functional than it appears now to be) will not be able to possibly stop that.<\/p>\n

As far as the Paris Agreement being legally binding, the United States did NOT get it approved by its Senate, which is where treaties are to be approved. Because the Obama-Biden Administration did not get it approved that way, the Trump-Pence Administration withdrew the USA from that agreement. The Biden-Harris Administration later committed the USA to the Paris Agreement, but again, without Senate approval.<\/p>\n

Donald Trump pulled the USA out of the Paris agreement the first time and is expected to do so again.<\/p>\n

Europeans consider that they are the ones that are \u201cmoral\u201d on this matter and that the re-election of Donald Trump is making international climate improvement much more difficult (Hodgson R. Trump victory casts shadow over upcoming COP global climate talks. Euronews, November 6, 2024, https:\/\/www.euronews.com\/my-europe\/2024\/11\/06\/trump-victory-casts-shadow-over-upcoming-cop-global-climate-talks<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Even though the world HAS NOT been living up to the Paris Accords, the US looks like it will be blamed in the future. Europe one day will consider that the US is so immoral on climate and trade matters that it needs to be eliminated, consistent with several biblical prophecies.<\/p>\n

Prayers for Armenia rang worldwide when the World Council of Churches<\/a> called for the unconditional release of 23 Armenian war hostages, as well as defenders of human rights and journalists detained in Azeri jails. The special day of prayer occurred the day before the start of COP29, the world climate conference, …<\/p>\n

The WCC has said it will bring a strong moral voice to COP29 and will champion justice-centered climate action, calling for meaningful climate finance, protection for communities most affected by climate change, and a swift transition away from fossil fuels. https:\/\/www.ecumenicalnews.com\/article\/as-cop29-starts-world-churches-group-urges-justice-and-peace-with-focus-on-armenia\/61188.htm<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Azerbaijan attacked the region of Artsakh a few years back and nearly all from Armenia fled back to Armenia. Yes, it is good to offer prayers for those affected, including those jailed.<\/p>\n

That said, notice that the WCC says, “it will bring a strong moral voice to COP29 and will champion justice-centered climate action, calling for meaningful climate finance, protection for communities most affected by climate change, and a swift transition away from fossil fuels.”<\/p>\n

On September 7, 2016, Olav Fykse Tveit, Church of Norway Pastor, and the General Secretary of the World Council of Churches from 2010 – 2020, stated, \u201cWe all sin against the Holy Spirit if we ignore climate change.\u201d Thus, Tveit essentially declared that those who ignore \u2018climate change\u2019 are committing the \u2018unpardonable sin\u2019 against the Holy Spirit (watch The \u2018Unpardonable Sin\u2019 and \u2018Climate Change\u2019?<\/a>).<\/p>\n

While humans are to tend the Earth and not destroy it, comparing ignoring climate change are committing blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is blasphemy itself.<\/p>\n

A Different False Gospel<\/a><\/h3>\n

While there have been a variety of false gospels since at least the time of Simon Magus and the Gnostics, there is a relatively new one being pushed by major leaders of the world\u2019s churches. Essentially, leaders are teaching that \u2018climate change\u2019 is related to salvation, the unpardonable sin, and something called the \u2018social gospel.\u2019 This is being pushed by leaders including Pope Francis of the Church of Rome, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of the Eastern Orthodox Church, and Olav Tveit of the World Council of Churches. Is this a false gospel consistent with Galatians 1:6-11? Are these angels of light or something else (cf. 2 Corinthians 11:13-15)? While it is good to not pollute, will the ecumenical climate change agenda work according to the Bible? Dr. Thiel address these issues and more.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The promoters of the climate change gospel are not God\u2019s ministers. It is not that people should pollute, but promoting the climate agenda (which normally also has economic and political parts) is pushing a false gospel.<\/p>\n

The Bible says, “Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it” (Palms 127:1). As those associated with COP29 do not really want to do things God’s way, as well as knowing aspects of biblical prophecy we know that this will not succeed.<\/p>\n

The Bible specifically shows that irrespective of whatever international agreements there may be, they will NOT save the environment\u2013the Bible shows that it will take the return of Jesus and the establishment of the millennial Kingdom of God<\/a> to do that (Matthew 24:21-22; Revelation 11:18; see also The Bible, Christians, and the Environment<\/a>).<\/p>\n

The Bible also clearly shows that the ecumenical\/inter-faith movement will also end in destruction (Revelation 18 & 19). This is not something that Roman Catholics or the Eastern Orthodox or the Protestants should want (see also Why Should American Catholics Fear Unity with the Orthodox?<\/a> and Beware: Protestants Going Towards Ecumenical Destruction!<\/a>)\u2013yet many of their leaders are promoting this!<\/p>\n

I believe that the false climate change gospel will be part of the false gospel that the Beast<\/a> and the final Antichrist<\/a> will promote. They will deceive people on the earth (Daniel 11:23-24; Revelation 13:14<\/span>).<\/p>\n

The stage is being set for it now by many religious leaders. And the mainstream media keeps promoting that, so many are being taken in by it.<\/p>\n

It will NOT work:<\/p>\n

18 The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, And the time of the dead, that they should be judged, And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear Your name, small and great, And should destroy those who destroy the earth. (Revelation 11:18)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Jesus would not need to destroy those that are destroying the earth if the climate change advocates would truly solve the problem.<\/p>\n

They cannot as they do not seem to understand that sin and the rejection of following the real ways of the God of the Bible is the cause for environmental problems. Instead, many religious leaders are promoting a false agenda for human salvation.<\/p>\n

Do NOT fall for the false climate change gospel.<\/p>\n

While there is a solution to \u2018climate change,\u2019 but the political and religious leaders of this world will not heed it.<\/p>\n

COP 27 and Solving Climate Change<\/a><\/h3>\n

The dates for the United Nations Climate Change meeting called COP 27 are November 6th through 18th, 2022. During that time, on November 13, 2022, a \u2018Chrislam\u2019 type group composed of leaders from the Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Protestant, Islamic, Buddhist, Hindu, and other faiths associated with the Interfaith Center for Sustainable Development and the Elijah Interfaith Institute are making what they titled \u2018A Prophetic Call for Climate Justice\u2019 and are having a \u2018Ceremony of Repentance\u2019 on what is referred to as Mount Sinai, in Egypt. Do this sound Gaia, mother goddess worship? Are Christians supposed to have religious ceremonies with pagans? What did the Apostle Paul write? What did Jesus say would happen to the earth? Are humans, apart from God, going to solve climate problems before Jesus returns? Is there any type of false gospel associated with aspects of the climate change movement? Would obeying God solve the issues of pollution and climate change? What about the good news, the gospel of the Kingdom of God? Does the Bible have the solution to pollution? Does the Bible have the answer to solving climate change? Dr Thiel and Steve Dupuie discuss these issues.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Bible does reveal that there is a solution to pollution and \u2018climate change.\u2019<\/p>\n

Jesus\u2019s kingdom will be the solution to pollution. Notice what will happen:<\/p>\n

3 For the Lord will comfort Zion,
\nHe will comfort all her waste places;
\nHe will make her wilderness like Eden,
\nAnd her desert like the garden of the Lord;
\nJoy and gladness will be found in it,
\nThanksgiving and the voice of melody.<\/p>\n

4 \u201cListen to Me, My people;
\nAnd give ear to Me, O My nation:
\nFor law will proceed from Me,
\nAnd I will make My justice rest
\nAs a light of the peoples.
\n5 My righteousness is near,
\nMy salvation has gone forth,
\nAnd My arms will judge the peoples;
\nThe coastlands will wait upon Me,
\nAnd on My arm they will trust. (Isaiah 51:3-5)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Yes, a better world is coming. The gospel of the kingdom of God brings hope.<\/p>\n

The Bible shows that God uses weather matters, including high heat (Revelation 16:8-9) and what is often called climate change today (Amos 4:4-9) to encourage repentance and obedience to Him (Haggai 2:17).<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the Bible shows how to resolve climate change:<\/p>\n

3 \u2018If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them,
\n4 then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
\n5 Your threshing shall last till the time of vintage, and the vintage shall last till the time of sowing;
\nyou shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.
\n6 I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none will make you afraid;
\nI will rid the land of evil beasts,
\nand the sword will not go through your land. (Leviticus 26:3-6)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Yes, there is a biblical solution to climate change, but most associated with the climate change crowd have overlooked that.<\/p>\n

But, people will heed God and His ways during the millennial Kingdom of God.<\/p>\n

Until the arrival of that Kingdom, all human beings should strive to obey God while being careful about waste and pollution. And all should also pray for God\u2019s kingdom to come (Matthew 6:10).<\/p>\n

Disobedience to God is the cause of ‘climate change’ and obeying and turning to the true God is the solution.<\/p>\n

But, partially because of Donald Trump and his stated policies, the US will be blamed for the world not hitting its climate goals. Goals that it was not meeting otherwise.<\/p>\n

Remember, however, the real solution is to turn to God and seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness as Jesus said (cf. Matthew 6:33).<\/p>\n
