The emergency meeting was convened in reaction to Trump&#8217;s fast-moving diplomacy and his pivot towards Moscow, which rattled leaders and stoked fears of an imminent collapse of the transatlantic alliance. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Talk of boosting defence spending across the EU must be linked to discussions on economic growth, European Parliament chief Roberta Metsola told reporters in Brussels.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If we don&#8217;t lead, we will lag (behind). A stronger economy requires smart spending,&#8221; Metsola added.<\/p>\n<p>She said the EU can make a &#8220;real difference&#8221; within the long-term common budget, known as the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), by matching funds to citizens&#8217; needs. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>The Aerospace, Security and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD) welcomed the White Paper on defence released on Wednesday but called for &#8220;urgent action&#8221; from EU member states, warning that &#8220;the industry is at a critical juncture&#8221; following decades of underinvestment.<\/p>\n<p>ASD, which represents 4,000 companies and 98% of the industry\u2019s total turnover, said in a statement that it supports the Commission&#8217;s call for more collaborative procurement but urged governments to place orders with European companies in order to &#8220;reduce critical dependencies and strengthen Europe\u2019s security of supply and freedom of action&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The pan-European association <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euronews.com\/my-europe\/2025\/02\/13\/european-preference-for-defence-is-imperative-industry-says-calling-for-eu-not-to-cave-to-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>had previously said that a so-called European preference<\/strong><\/a> for defence spending is an &#8220;imperative&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.euronews.com\/my-europe\/2025\/03\/20\/ukraine-defence-and-economy-top-the-agenda-as-eu-leaders-meet-in-brussels\">https:\/\/www.euronews.com\/my-europe\/2025\/03\/20\/ukraine-defence-and-economy-top-the-agenda-as-eu-leaders-meet-in-brussels<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Europe announced its Readiness 2030\/ReArm Europe program.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The European Commission has unveiled a plan to militarize the European Union, titled the White Paper for European Defense \u2014 Readiness 2030:<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/NntfnHOiOK\">https:\/\/t.co\/NntfnHOiOK<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/wBWrNFZYSA\">pic.twitter.com\/wBWrNFZYSA<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 TASS (@tassagency_en) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tassagency_en\/status\/1902348474328154527?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 19, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Here is a report about that:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h2 class=\"hero__title\">EU slams the door on US in colossal defense plan<\/h2>\n<p>19 March 2025<\/p>\n<div class=\"sidebar-grid__content article__content\">\n<p>BRUSSELS \u2014 United States arms-makers are being frozen out of the European Union\u2019s massive new defense spending plan, which aims to splash the cash for EU and allied countries, according to defense <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/commission\/presscorner\/detail\/en\/ip_25_793\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">spending plans<\/a> released Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Also left out \u2014 for now \u2014 is the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe must buy more European. Because that means strengthening the European defense technological and industrial base,\u201d said Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in announcing the Readiness 2030 program. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>In a bid to strengthen ties with allies, Brussels involved countries like South Korea and Japan and the European Free Trade Association\u00a0(EFTA)\u00a0in its program that could see as much as \u20ac800 billion spent on defense.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need to see not only Russia as a threat, but also &#8230; more global geopolitical developments and where Americans will put their strategic attention,\u201d European Defense Commissioner Andrius Kubilius told reporters.<\/p>\n<p>In recent years, about two-thirds of EU procurement orders have gone to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.eu\/article\/punching-allies-in-the-face-how-trump-is-making-europe-question-us-arms-deals\/\">U.S. defense companies<\/a>. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>The danger of relying too much on the U.S. was highlighted by Trump\u2019s sudden decision to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.eu\/article\/european-leaders-rally-behind-ukraine-us-stops-military-aid\/\">undermine allied Ukraine<\/a> by halting arms deliveries and intelligence-sharing to pressure Kyiv into accepting peace talks with Russia.<\/p>\n<p>Kallas pointed to how Kyiv has been hampered by relying on outsiders. \u201cThey use weapons that are not produced in Ukraine [and] sometimes there are limitations on how they can use those weapons &#8230; your military needs to really have free hands in this regard,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/defence-industry-space.ec.europa.eu\/document\/download\/30b50d2c-49aa-4250-9ca6-27a0347cf009_en?filename=White%20Paper.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The EU strategy<\/a> underlined that while the United States is \u201ctraditionally a strong ally,\u201d it added that Washington \u201cbelieves it is over-committed in Europe and needs to rebalance, reducing its historical role as a primary security guarantor.\u201d &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>As of the end of January, the EU had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.europarl.europa.eu\/thinktank\/en\/document\/EPRS_BRI(2025)767215\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">six defense and security partnerships<\/a>: with Norway, Moldova, South Korea, Japan, Albania and North Macedonia.<\/p>\n<p>Turkey and Serbia, as EU candidate countries, could also potentially join.<\/p>\n<p>That leaves out the U.S. and the U.K. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Canada has also made clear it wants a tighter security relationship with the EU. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.eu\/article\/eu-freeze-us-multi-billion-defense-plan-arm-makers\/\">https:\/\/www.politico.eu\/article\/eu-freeze-us-multi-billion-defense-plan-arm-makers\/<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Notice that the Europeans want to spend their funds on European military weapons and not on weapons from the USA or UK. This is one way for Europe to support its industrial base which may be hurt by tariffs from the Trump Administration.<\/p>\n<p>As far as having a &#8220;colossal defense plan,&#8221; Europe wants to become a military superpower.<\/p>\n<p>This is something that the old Worldwide Church of God warned a lot about last century. This confederated Europe will be an immense political, military and economic power \u2014 a great Third Force in world affairs, a superpower in its own right. Prophecy further reveals that this powerful church-state union will be composed of \u201cten horns\u201d \u2014 meaning 10 nations or groups of nations (Rev. 17:3) \u2014 under the overall leadership of a single political figure (verse 13). Thus, her present economic strength can be expected to continue.<\/p>\n<p><strong>New cooperative spirit<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A second factor leading to the creation of a European superpower is the fast-developing new feeling of oneness, solidarity and pan-European unity, based on these new economic gains Europeans now wish to maintain. This new willingness by Europeans to cooperate (to some degree) and to work together for the common good flies in the face of their basic tendencies (usually nationalistic and hostile to most concepts of union) over the past several hundred years. This new spirit of cooperation has materialism as a bottom line, With time, prophecy tells us that economic union will give rise to spiritual union (directed by a mother church) and then will come final complete political and military union. Good News magazine, October-November 1979)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Notice something that the old Radio Church of God published 60 years ago:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The apostle John used the symbolic term \u201clocusts\u201d to describe the terrifying WAR MACHINES that would be invented and used by power-crazed men in this final World War! Bible Correspondence Course. 1965)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Europe is now publicly declaring it wants its own army and that it will produce a lot of its own weapons, with a budget plan to do so.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a specific prophecy in the Bible that shows that the final power in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/europa.htm\">Europe<\/a> will end up with a large army:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>25 \u201cHe shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the South with a great army. (Daniel 11:25)<\/p>\n<p>40 &#8220;At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships;\u00a0 (Daniel 11:40)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The \u201che\u201d above is the European <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/kingofthenorth.htm\">King of the North<\/a> Beast power. Notice that he will control a &#8220;great army&#8221; with &#8220;many ships&#8221; and other military weaponry. Weaponry that the EU is meeting about today!<\/p>\n<p>Although Europe is NOT yet ready to conquer, the Bible says that this European Beast power will reorganize and is going to surprise the world with its military success:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>12 \u201cThe ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. (Revelation 17:12-13)<\/p>\n<p>3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, \u201cWho is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?\u201d (Revelation 13:3-4)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The world will marvel because it did not think that the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/europa.htm\">European Beast<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/kingofthenorth.htm\">King of the North<\/a>, power could possibly beat the USA militarily.<\/p>\n<p>Beat the USA militarily?<\/p>\n<p>Yes.<\/p>\n<p>The following prophecy is one that shows the coming defeat of the USA:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain. The power with the strongest military fortresses in the 21st century is presently the USA. Daniel was told to shut up the words, they were for the time of the end. Dan 12:4: \u2018But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.\u2019 We are there.
