According to the Daily Galaxy<\/a>, there has been \u201ca surge in seismic activity\u201d at the Campi Flegrei supervolcano during the past year\u2026<\/p>\n

In the shadow of Mount Vesuvius, a much larger and potentially catastrophic threat looms beneath the ground\u2014Campi Flegrei, the most dangerous supervolcano in Europe. Over the past year, a surge in seismic activity has sent shockwaves\u2014literally and figuratively\u2014through the region, fueling fears of an impending eruption. With over two million people living in the potential blast zone, the question is no longer if this sleeping giant will wake up, but when.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Campi Flegrei supervolcano covers an area of 77 square miles, and one expert is publicly warning that it could potentially \u201cerupt at any moment\u201d<\/a>\u2026<\/p>\n

Dura\u2019s team generated numerous earthquake models to estimate the range of potential land sinking from a future Cascadia earthquake. They then used geospatial analysis to quantify the expansion of the floodplain at 24 estuaries and communities along the subduction zone.\u00a0 \u2026<\/p>\n

The Cascadia subduction zone<\/a> is a fault in the tectonic plates that runs 700 miles from Vancouver Island in Canada to California\u2019s Cape Mendocino. It is a part of the Ring of Fire, a 25,000-mile-long horseshoe-shaped region encompassing the Pacific Ocean, the most seismically active area on the planet.\u00a0 It includes most of California<\/a>, Washington State, and Alaska. The Ring of Fire consists of 452 volcanoes, more than 75 percent of active volcanoes in the world today. About 90 percent of the world\u2019s earthquakes and 81 percent of the world\u2019s largest earthquakes occur along the Ring of Fire. All but three of the world\u2019s 25 largest volcanic eruptions of the last 11,700 years occurred at the Ring of Fire volcanoes.<\/p>\n

If a cataclysmic earthquake hits the West Coast, the Cascadia subduction zone will likely be the culprit. The largest earthquake in the continental U.S. was caused by a shift in the subduction zone on January 26, 1700, generating a tsunami so large it damaged villages in Japan. 05\/12\/25<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The greatest earthquakes in the history of the continental United States occurred along the New Madrid fault zone in the middle of the country. In 1811 and 1812, there was a series of catastrophic earthquakes that were so powerful that they jolted people all the way up in Canada. Those quakes made the Mississippi River run backwards, they made church bells in Boston ring, and they were even felt inside the White House. Well, first let me agree that the Great Madrid Fault is a major threat.<\/p>\n

In California, we have small earthquakes every day.<\/p>\n

But, the San Andreas fault is the one that gets the most attention.<\/p>\n

A study published in 2006 in the journal Nature<\/a><\/i> by Yuri Fialko, an associate professor at the Cecil H. and Ida M. Green Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics at Scripps Institution of Oceanography<\/a>,[<\/span>21]<\/span><\/a><\/sup> found that the San Andreas fault has reached a sufficient stress level for an earthquake of magnitude greater than 7.0 on the moment magnitude scale<\/a> to occur.[<\/span>22]<\/span><\/a><\/sup> This study also found that the risk of a large earthquake may be increasing more rapidly than scientists had previously believed. Moreover, the risk is currently concentrated on the southern section of the fault, i.e. the region around Los Angeles, because strong earthquakes have occurred relatively recently on the central (1857<\/a>) and northern (1906<\/a>) segments of the fault, while the southern section has not seen any similar rupture for at least 300 years. According to this study, a major earthquake on that southern section of the San Andreas fault would result in major damage to the Palm Springs<\/a>\u2013Indio<\/a> metropolitan area and other cities in San Bernardino<\/a>, Riverside<\/a> and Imperial<\/a> counties in California, and Mexicali Municipality<\/a> in Baja California<\/a>. It would be strongly felt (and potentially cause significant damage) throughout much of Southern California<\/a>, including densely populated areas of Los Angeles County<\/a>, Ventura County<\/a>, Orange County<\/a>, San Diego County<\/a>, Ensenada Municipality<\/a> and Tijuana Municipality<\/a>, Baja California, San Luis Rio Colorado<\/a> in Sonora<\/a> and Yuma, Arizona<\/a>. Older buildings would be especially prone to damage or collapse, as would buildings built on unconsolidated gravel or in coastal areas where water tables are high (and thus subject to soil liquefaction<\/a>). Of the study, Fialko stated:<\/p>\n

All these data suggest that the fault is ready for the next big earthquake but exactly when the triggering will happen and when the earthquake will occur we cannot tell. It could be tomorrow or it could be 10 years or more from now.[<\/span>21]<\/span><\/a><\/sup><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Nevertheless, in the 18 years since that publication there has not been a substantial quake in the Los Angeles area, and two major reports issued by the United States Geological Survey<\/a> (USGS) have made variable predictions as to the risk of future seismic events. Despite previous forecast, some say it is due to cause major damage relatively soon.<\/p>\n

We know that Jesus prophesied the following:<\/p>\n

8 \u2026 And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be\u2026<\/strong>troubles<\/strong>. These are the beginnings of sorrows. (Mark 13:8)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The beginning of sorrows is BEFORE the start of the Great Tribulation. But as far at the really big earthquake that is mentioned in biblical prophecy is the following one:<\/p>\n

18 And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth. 19 Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath. 20 Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. (Revelation 16:18-20)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Notice that the above earthquake is so big that the cities of the nations will fall. Mountains will be leveled and islands “fled away” (more on this can be found in the article Islands aeand Bible Prophecy<\/a>). This seems to be the biggest earthquake that will ever hit the planet with humans on it. Despite the view of ‘preterists’ that this already happened (see The Dangerous Rise of Preterists<\/a>), that is nonsense.<\/p>\n

The earthquake of Revelation 16 will be bigger than what the usual “experts” have believed was possible. It will change the planet and humble parts of humanity.<\/p>\n

Changes to the earth’s core and magnetic fields may be geological factors God will use to trigger that quake (watch also Earth’s Core and Earthquakes<\/a>).<\/p>\n

It should be noted since that apparently biggest of all earthquakes seems to take place near the end of the Day of the Lord, it probably cannot happen prior to 2031 (for more on why as well as dates, please see the articles When Can the Great Tribulation Begin?<\/a> and Does God Have a 6,000 Year Plan? What Year Does the 6,000 Years End?<\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n

Many think that the USA cannot fall.<\/p>\n

But consider the impact of many “natural” disasters–actually receiving curses from God for disobedience:<\/p>\n

That would weaken the US and make it susceptible for conquering, which, according to Daniel 11:39, will happen.<\/p>\n

The Bible is clear that God controls the weather and various calamities, but wants people to heed His prophets:<\/p>\n

6\u2026 If there is calamity in a city, will not the Lord have done it?<\/p>\n

7 Surely the Lord God does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. (Amos 3:6-7)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Bible tells of weather-related blessings for obedience and weather-related curses for disobedience. Weather is not as random as many people seem to want to believe.<\/p>\n

As far as repentance goes, the Bible shows:<\/p>\n

30 God \u2026 commands all men everywhere to repent (Acts 17:30)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And weather-problems are one tool that God uses to urge people to repent (cf. Haggai 2:17; Amos 4:7-12). But most will not. Nor will most Christians as they should (cf. Revelation 3:14-18; see also The Laodicean Church Era<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Most will ignore weather changes and simply believe that weather changes all the time and the changes do not have to do with God or disobeying His laws.<\/p>\n

Jesus taught:<\/p>\n

34<\/span> \u201cBut take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. <\/span>35<\/span> For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. <\/span>36<\/span> Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.\u201d<\/span> (Luke 21:34-36)<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This is the time to get your spiritual life in order.<\/p>\n

Earthquakes and Super Volcanos<\/a><\/h3>\n

Is a black swan just another pretty bird? Well, yes, but a black swan event has a totally different meaning. A black swan event is described by Britannica.com as: “A black swan event is an unexpected and highly impactful event. It is characterized by its extreme rarity, severe consequences, and the tendency for people to rationalize it only in hindsight.” Would a massive earthquake or the eruption of a super volcano qualify as a black swan event? The answer is yes. One black swan event that poses a risk right now is the massive super volcanos long overdue to erupt and another black swan event is the tectonic plates that are generating incredible pressure as they grind against each other and will result in massive earthquakes. The United States has both the massive Yellowstone super volcano and the San Andreas Fault as well as Ring of Fire. Could a black swan event jeopardize the very existence of the United States? Is it possible one or more events could set the United States up for an invasion from the King of the North? Does the Bible foretell of an earthquake so large and powerful that mountains are leveled and the islands fled away?
