Multiple European leaders, as well as Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum have responded to US President Donald Trump’s latest tariff announcement with disappointment and criticism, while urging for a negotiated solution.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, Trump posted a new set of letters to his social media platform Truth Social, declaring 30% tariffs on the EU and Mexico starting 1 August, a move that could cause massive upheaval between the United States and two of its biggest trade partners.<\/p>\n

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen quickly responded by noting the bloc’s \u201ccommitment to dialogue, stability, and a constructive transatlantic partnership.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Sunday, she emphasised that reaching a negotiated solution remains the priority, but that the EU is ready to respond with countermeasures. …<\/p>\n

Standing alongside Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, von der Leyen said the trade tensions with the US show the importance of \u2018\u2019diversifying our trade relationships.” …<\/p>\n

\u201cWith European unity, it is more than ever up to the Commission to assert the Union\u2019s determination to resolutely defend European interests,\u201d French President Emmanuel Macron said in a statement posted on X. …<\/p>\n

The Mexican government said it was informed during high-level talks with US State Department officials Friday that the Trump letter was coming. Tariffs, sanctions, economic threats, and policies from the Trump Administration are pushing nations away from trading with the USA.<\/p>\n

There is even a new term, ABUSA, which means anywhere but the United States of America (see\u00a0ABUSA\u2013Anywhere But the USA for trade\u2013ECB wants independence from America<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Notice that, once again, the EU is talking about diversifying its “trade relationships.” In other words, the Europeans are looking to trade more with other nations than the USA.<\/p>\n

There is an expression that “the enemy of your enemy is your friend.” The USA is turning friends into enemies, and that is consistent with biblical prophecies (e.g. Lamentations 1:1-2). Expect the European Union and Mexico to trade more with each other.<\/p>\n

European leaders have been working for years to establish a new reserve currency for the world, partially with the intent to remove the USA dollar from its current position as a reserve currency.<\/p>\n

Those in Russia, Iran and some of the Arab lands, along with nations such as Brazil and India have discussed plans for the removal of the dominance of the USA dollar in global trade as well. Many are now working on that, along with China, in what is called the BRICS alliance.While Donald Trump did not cause all of this, an unintended consequence of the use of sanctions in the Trump-Pence Administration (as well as by the Biden-Harris Administration) is that more nations are looking to bypass the dollar. …<\/p>\n

Since many are now questioning the role of the USA\u00a0dollar as the world\u2019s reserve currency, more are looking into other currencies as well as gold.<\/p>\n

When the U.S.\u00a0dollar totally collapses people all around the world will consider that even if the euro (or something similar)\u00a0is strong, having a more gold-backed currency would be safer.<\/p>\n

The collapse of the USA dollar will shake a lot of the world\u2019s confidence in non-gold backed currencies. The Europeans do not have to have a perfect currency, only one that is perceived to be in better shape than the USA dollar or various other currencies. …<\/p>\n
