COGwriter<\/a><\/p>\n Tonight the President of the United States, Barack Obama made promises that suggest that he forgot the Bible.<\/p>\n Here are excerpts of a news article about the speech:<\/p>\n But the above shows that he, like most Americans, does not understand what the problem is, as his solutions have nothing to do with repentance, but mainly will result in the increase of debt.<\/p>\n And while that recent increase of debt (with more forthcoming) may keep the economy moving better than if this debt was not being incurred, the fact is that increasing debt will result in such catastrophic problems for the USA that the President and his staff have not even considered.<\/p>\n So, while the financial markets might settle down some, be not deceived, the USA is busily setting itself up for destruction (Habakkuk 2:3,6-8).<\/p>\n And while the President seemed to forgot the biblical solutions to the troubles in the USA, you (whether you are American or not) do not have to.<\/p>\n While we all should pray for the President (see LCG: Pray for President Obama<\/a>), we all need to realize that his statements about the “only way” America will lead the 21st century are completely wrong (I am not intending on taking positions here today about his oil, health care, nor education plans).<\/p>\n The debt that “our children…stand to inherit” is essentially slavery and destruction (cf. Proverbs 22:7; Lamentations 1:1).<\/p>\n Notice some passages from the Bible:<\/p>\n 41 You shall beget sons and daughters, but they shall not be yours; for they shall go into captivity<\/strong>. 42 Locusts shall consume all your trees and the produce of your land.<\/p>\n 43 The alien<\/strong> who is among you shall rise higher and higher above you, and you shall come down lower and lower. 44 He shall lend to you<\/strong>, but you shall not lend to him; he shall be the head, and you shall be the tail<\/strong>. 45 Moreover all these curses shall come upon you and pursue and overtake you, until you are destroyed, because you did not obey the voice of the LORD your God, to keep His commandments<\/strong> and His statutes which He commanded you. 46 And they shall be upon you for a sign and a wonder, and on your descendants forever.<\/p>\n 47 “Because you did not serve the LORD your God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything, 48 therefore you shall serve your enemies, whom the LORD will send against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in need of everything; and He will put a yoke of iron on your neck until He has destroyed you. 49 The LORD will bring a nation against you from afar, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flies, a nation whose language you will not understand, 50 a nation of fierce countenance, which does not respect the elderly nor show favor to the young. 51 And they shall eat the increase of your livestock and the produce of your land, until you are destroyed; they shall not leave you grain or new wine or oil, or the increase of your cattle or the offspring of your flocks, until they have destroyed you\u00a0 (Deuteronomy 28:41-51).<\/p>\n 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end<\/strong> it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come<\/strong>, It will not tarry…<\/p>\n 6 “Will not all these take up a proverb against him, And a taunting riddle against him, and say, ‘Woe to him who increases What is not his–how long? And to him who loads himself with many pledges’? 7 Will not your creditors rise up suddenly?<\/strong> Will they not awaken who oppress you?
