NZZ editor and former spokesperson for Heckler &amp; Koch says &#8220;Germans must be forced into military service&#8221; to potentially &#8220;defend the freedom&#8221; in Europe. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/fTJayFcSOl\">pic.twitter.com\/fTJayFcSOl<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Disclose.tv (@disclosetv) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/disclosetv\/status\/1957753724195004735?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 19, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\n<a href=\"\/cogwriter.htm\">COGwriter<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The editor of the German newspaper <em>Neue Z\u00fcrcher Zeitung<\/em> (NZZ) wants a forced draft so that Germany can defend Europe as the tweet above shows.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Germany was looking to bring back the draft:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h2 class=\"sc-ivDvhZ iBEcrE sc-iJfdHH djgAGb sc-jIQHsi VsLvM sc-ZiJuh dCQQTg sc-eAmRia bwLwJN\">As Germany mulls military service return, what about Europe?<\/h2>\n<p>11 May 2024<\/p>\n<p>After long discussion, Germany&#8217;s main opposition party, the conservative <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/cdu\/t-17351950\">Christian Democratic Union (CDU)<\/a>, this week voted to put a gradual return to mandatory military service back on its agenda.<\/p>\n<p>That means that if the CDU\u00a0returns to power, it would try to introduce legislation making it mandatory for\u00a0young people to either serve in\u00a0the military\u00a0or the social sector for one year.<\/p>\n<p>Germany used to have a system like that, but axed it in 2011.<\/p>\n<p>The reason for the CDU&#8217;s about-face is concerns about Russia and a\u00a0lack of personnel in the <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/bundeswehr\/t-17430904\">Bundeswehr<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>German <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/boris-pistorius\/t-66121275\">Defense Minister Boris Pistorius<\/a>, of the governing center-left\u00a0<a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/social-democrat-party-spd\/t-17437818\">Social Democrats (SPD)<\/a>, has already said he wants to decide this by the summer whether he too would <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/germany-mulls-reintroduction-of-compulsory-military-service\/a-67853437\">suggest a return to some form of mandatory military service<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/as-germany-mulls-military-service-return-what-about-europe\/a-69036371\">https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/as-germany-mulls-military-service-return-what-about-europe\/a-69036371<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As far as the Alternative for Germany (AfD) wants Germany to have a tougher military:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>May 21, 2025<\/p>\n<p>BERLIN \u2014 Germany\u2019s far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) says the Bundeswehr has become too soft \u2014 and it wants to bring back grit, discipline and a \u201cwarrior culture\u201d modeled on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/magazine\/2024\/12\/06\/pete-hegseth-defense-religion-christian-00192117\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">U.S. military under Donald Trump.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In a Bundestag debate on Wednesday ahead of a vote on a new parliamentary commissioner for the armed forces, AfD lawmaker Hannes Gnauck accused the military of drifting into \u201cideological decay.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He mocked gender officers, climate-focused construction projects, and what he called a \u201cwellness culture\u201d for troops.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need fighters,\u201d Gnauck said. \u201cWe don\u2019t need CEOs with gender advisers in every staff company \u2014 we need men and women who can lead, fight, and defend our country.\u201d\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.eu\/article\/germany-afd-wants-copy-hegseths-warrior-culture-bundeswehr-hannes-gnauck\/\">https:\/\/www.politico.eu\/article\/germany-afd-wants-copy-hegseths-warrior-culture-bundeswehr-hannes-gnauck\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As far as the AfD party goes, it is increasing in political influence in Germany (watch <a title=\"Permanent Link to Germany\u2019s AfD party taking lead\u2013Germans are changing\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/news\/prophecy\/germanys-afd-party-taking-lead-germans-are-changing\/\" rel=\"bookmark\">Germany\u2019s AfD party taking lead\u2013Germans are changing<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>There is a shift going on in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>Europe is not pleased with what is going on with the Trump Administration, nor its vision of dealing with the Russia and Ukraine conflict. But for now, the Europeans are basically on the side as they realize that without Donald Trump&#8217;s concurrence, they cannot do much on their own. We\u2019re selling weapons,&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong>Trump had said Monday in response to a reporter&#8217;s question on the matter.<\/p>\n<p>It remains very obvious that Europe&#8217;s demands of keeping up huge pressure on Russia, including through sanctions, are intended to\u00a0<strong>stymie any US-backed deal seen as too favorable to Moscow<\/strong>. The FT report comments on this\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/8dad9c67-59da-4f38-b43a-3d6ba5f1df57\">as follows<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>The document details how Ukraine<strong>\u00a0intends to make a counter-pitch to the US after Trump appeared to align himself with Russia\u2019s position<\/strong>\u00a0for ending the war following his meeting with President Vladimir Putin in Alaska last week.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>It reiterates Ukraine&#8217;s call for a ceasefire that Trump had espoused but then dropped after his Putin meeting in favor of the pursuit of a comprehensive peace settlement.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Geopolitical analyst and commentator Glenn Diesen has pointed out, however, that Kiev is essentially<strong>\u00a0attempting to create leverage out of nothing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Europe will spend $100 billion it does not have, to buy weapons from America that it does not have, to arm soldiers that Ukraine now lacks,&#8221;<\/strong> he wrote, explaining further: &#8220;This is to confront Russia, which for 30 years warned it would respond to NATO militarizing its borders.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/geopolitical\/europe-spend-100bn-it-doesnt-have-buy-weapons-america-it-doesnt-have-arm-soldiers\">https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/geopolitical\/europe-spend-100bn-it-doesnt-have-buy-weapons-america-it-doesnt-have-arm-soldiers<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And, yes, what Donald Trump wants the Europeans to do is to pay for American weapons to go to Ukraine&#8211;and while Europe will continue to do some of that&#8211;as well as begrudgedly supporting some of Donald Trump&#8217;s efforts&#8211;Europe wants to change so that it can call the shots.<\/p>\n<p>Germany and most of the other nations in Europe have decided that they will support a bigger and stronger military. The comments from <em>Neue Z\u00fcrcher Zeitung<\/em> (NZZ) are basically another confirmation of that.<\/p>\n<p>The Bible teaches that the coming <a href=\"\/europa.htm\">European<\/a> <a href=\"\/kingofthenorth.htm\">King of the North<\/a> will have a \u201cgreat army\u201d (Daniel 11:25) and &#8220;many ships&#8221; (Daniel 11:40).<\/p>\n<p>German and other European calls to increase the number of European troops and European military spending are consistent with helping to set the stage for those prophecies to be fulfilled.<\/p>\n<p>Once the European Beast power uses his forces to fulfill prophecies, such as are in Daniel 11:39-43, the world will marvel because it thought that Europe was basically dead from a military perspective:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. 2 Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, &#8220;Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?&#8221; (Revelation 13:1-4)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Let me add that it has been my published view for 16 years that technology will be key for Europe to do this.<\/p>\n<p>Consider also that Europe got more serious about taking steps, prior to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, after the first election of Donald Trump as USA President.<\/p>\n<p>One step was the formation of something called Permanent Structured Cooperation, commonly called PESCO. Some others in Europe have echoed that sentiment. On November 9, 2018, US President Donald Trump called that an insult, but the next day said that the USA wanted \u201ca very strong Europe.\u201d Emmanuel Macron referred to Donald Trump as \u201cmy friend\u201d and indicated a desire to strengthen Europe\u2019s military spending. In December 2017, 25 European nations agreed to be part of a military alliance called PESCO. Europe also has NATO and IEI. Will Europe end up with \u201ca great army\u201d? Has Donald Trump\u2019s announcement to withdraw from the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty gotten some to say that Europe must rebel against the USA? Is the idea of a United States of Europe and a European army a \u201cparanoid fantasy\u201d or a biblical reality? Will the USA regret Europe becoming a stronger military power? Will the USA be betrayed by \u201cfriends\u201d such as its continental European allies? Does the Bible teach any or all of this? Are there connections to the Beast of Revelation or the King of the North of Daniel 11? And one that the Bible shows will ultimately defeat the USA (Daniel 11:39; see also <span class=\"style411\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/usa-strongest-fortresses.htm\">USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses<\/a><\/span>).<\/p>\n<p>Although many in the USA and elsewhere act like that is not possible, those of us who understand certain aspects of biblical prophecy realize that the Bible shows that:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain. (Daniel 11:39)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The &#8220;he&#8221; above is the European King of the North. In the 21st century, the &#8220;strongest fortresses&#8221; belong to the USA and its British-descended allies (cf. Daniel 8:24-25; Isaiah 17:3)&#8211;and notice that the Bible says that the power with the strongest fortresses will be defeated.<\/p>\n<p>Of course some believe, that despite WWI, WWII, and previous massive wars, that Europe would never start WWIII. Yet, this overlooks a biblical prophecy related to a people that now dominate central Europe (see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/germany-in-the-bible.htm\">Germany&#8217;s Assyrian Roots Throughout History<\/a>):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>5 O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation. 6 I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.<\/p>\n<p>7 <strong>Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>8 For he saith, Are not my princes altogether kings? 9 Is not Calno as Carchemish? is not Hamath as Arpad? is not Samaria as Damascus? 10 As my hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols, and whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria; 11 Shall I not, as I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols? (Isaiah 10:5-11, KJV)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The USA is sometimes prophetically referred to as Samaria (and sometimes as Manasseh) in biblical prophecy (for details, watch <a id=\"video-title19\" title=\"USA in Prophecy: Samaria\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=j9zhtuJ5zCg\">USA in Prophecy: Samaria<\/a>). So, even though Germanic-led Europe (referred to as Assyria above) does not seem to wish to do this (Isaiah 10:7), according to biblical prophecy it will come to pass. The USA will be defeated (cf. Daniel 11:39; see also <span class=\"style411\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/usa-strongest-fortresses.htm\">USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses<\/a><\/span>) as will the UK (which is often referred to as Ephraim in biblical prophecies such as Isaiah 17:3). Notice also:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>9 The children of Ephraim, being armed and carrying bows,<br \/>\nTurned back in the day of battle.<br \/>\n10 They did not keep the covenant of God;<br \/>\nThey refused to walk in His law,<br \/>\n11 And forgot His works<br \/>\nAnd His wonders that He had shown them. (Psalm 78:9-11)<\/p>\n<p>9 All the people will know \u2014<br \/>\nEphraim and the inhabitant of Samaria \u2014<br \/>\nWho say in pride and arrogance of heart:<br \/>\n10 &#8216;The bricks have fallen down,<br \/>\nBut we will rebuild with hewn stones;<br \/>\nThe sycamores are cut down,<br \/>\nBut we will replace them with cedars.&#8221;<br \/>\n11 Therefore the Lord shall set up<br \/>\nThe adversaries of Rezin against him,<br \/>\nAnd spur his enemies on,<br \/>\n12 The Syrians before and the Philistines behind;<br \/>\nAnd they shall devour Israel with an open mouth.<\/p>\n<p>For all this His anger is not turned away,<br \/>\nBut His hand is stretched out still.<\/p>\n<p>13 For the people do not turn to Him who strikes them,<br \/>\nNor do they seek the Lord of hosts.<br \/>\n14 Therefore the Lord will cut off head and tail from Israel,<br \/>\nPalm branch and bulrush in one day. (Isaiah 9:9-14)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The European Beast army will be very destructive.<\/p>\n<p>The Bible tells of a coming time of massive devastation:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>23 &#8216;The whole land is brimstone, salt, and burning; it is not sown, nor does it bear, nor does any grass grow there, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, which the Lord overthrew in His anger and His wrath.&#8217; (Deuteronomy 29:23-24)<\/p>\n<p>19 Through the wrath of the LORD of hosts<br \/>\nThe land is burned up,<br \/>\nAnd the people shall be as fuel for the fire; No man shall spare his brother.<br \/>\n20 And he shall snatch on the right hand<br \/>\nAnd be hungry;<br \/>\nHe shall devour on the left hand<br \/>\nAnd not be satisfied; Every man shall eat the flesh of his own arm. 21 Manasseh shall devour Ephraim, and Ephraim Manasseh; Together they shall be against Judah (Isaiah 9:19-21).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The above descriptions are consistent with a nuclear or similar attack. Manasseh represents the USA and Ephraim its British-descended allies (see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/britishisrael.htm\">Anglo &#8211; America in Prophecy &amp; the Lost Tribes of Israel<\/a>). THIS HAS NOT YET HAPPENED IN HISTORY AND IS A PROPHECY FOR OUR TIME.<\/p>\n<p>It is my view that Europe will likely attack the USA and\/or the UK under the guise of a NATO (or some other defense treaty) exercise and use nuclear bombers.
