WASHINGTON (AP) \u2014 President Donald Trump<\/a><\/span> announced he\u2019s ending \u201call trade negotiations\u201d with Canada because of a television ad opposing U.S. tariffs that he said misstated the facts and called \u201cegregious behavior\u201d aimed at influencing U.S. court decisions.<\/p>\n

The post on Trump\u2019s social media site came Thursday night after Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said he aims to double his country\u2019s exports to countries outside the U.S.<\/a><\/span> because of the threat posed by Trump\u2019s tariffs. Trump\u2019s call for an abrupt end to negotiations could further inflame trade tensions that already have been building between the two neighboring countries for months.<\/p>\n

Trump posted, \u201cThe Ronald Reagan Foundation has just announced that Canada has fraudulently used an advertisement, which is FAKE, featuring Ronald Reagan speaking negatively about Tariffs.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe ad was for $75,000.000. They only did this to interfere with the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court, and other courts,\u201d Trump wrote on his social media site. \u201cTARIFFS ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO THE NATIONAL SECURITY, AND ECONOMY, OF THE U.S.A. Based on their egregious behavior, ALL TRADE NEGOTIATIONS WITH CANADA ARE HEREBY TERMINATED.\u201d …<\/p>\n

Trump, a Republican, was still at it on Friday morning, furiously posting on his social media site that \u201cCANADA CHEATED AND GOT CAUGHT!!!\u201d on the tariff ad.<\/p>\n

\u201cTHE UNITED STATES IS WEALTHY, POWERFUL, AND NATIONALLY SECURE AGAIN, ALL BECAUSE OF TARIFFS!\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier Thursday night, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute posted on X that an ad created by the government of Ontario \u201cmisrepresents the \u2018Presidential Radio Address to the Nation on Free and Fair Trade\u2019 dated April 25, 1987.\u201d It added that Ontario did not receive foundation permission \u201cto use and edit the remarks.\u201d<\/p>\n

The foundation said it is \u201creviewing legal options in this matter\u201d and invited the public to watch the unedited video of Reagan\u2019s address. …<\/p>\n

As it turns out, I have seen that ad a couple of times. It features Ronald Reagan speaking and implies that he is completely against tariffs because they are harmful. While tariffs often are harmful, Ronald Reagan had imposed 100% tariffs on certain Japanese electronics just prior to making the speech.<\/p>\n

US President Donald Trump has said he will halt all trade negotiations with Canada immediately over an advert in which his predecessor Ronald Reagan says tariffs “hurt every American”.<\/p>\n

The ad, sponsored by Canada’s province of Ontario and released last week, features excerpts of an address Reagan gave in 1987 focusing on foreign trade.<\/p>\n

Trump called the advert “FAKE”<\/a> while The Ronald Reagan Foundation said it “misrepresents” the former president’s address. …<\/p>\n

The 1987 radio speech – Address to the Nation on Free and Fair Trade – begins with Reagan saying Japan’s prime minister will visit the White House and “recent disagreements” on trade will be discussed. Many Republicans believe that Ronald Reagan was the best president in their lifetime. The advertisement seemed, to me at least, to be an attempt to turn Republicans against Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

The ad is misleading and I can see why Donald Trump would be offended by it.<\/p>\n

This ad was not a good move by Ontario.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, as the Associated Press<\/em> pointed out, “More than three-quarters of Canadian exports go to the U.S.” This makes Canada highly dependent upon the USA.<\/p>\n

Canada is in a precarious position these days and Donald Trump seems willing to try to cause Canada a lot of economic pain to get it to accede to his demands. Yes, Donald Trump has used bullying tactics.<\/p>\n

Why?<\/p>\n

Because Canada does not have much economic or military power compared to the USA.<\/p>\n

Because Donald Trump has long been a bully in business and as USA President, he thinks he can continue to be.<\/p>\n

And while he can act as a bully to a degree, do not think that there is no cost to that.<\/p>\n

Canada will, once again, decide it has to bend the knee to the USA regarding trade.<\/p>\n

However Canada, as well as other nations, are looking to trade more with Europe as they are trying to figure out how to thrive with less trade with the USA. Europe will rise up, for a time, per biblical prophecies in Revelation 17 & 18.<\/p>\n

That said, there is something else going on in Canada–censorship and surveillance.<\/p>\n

Canadian Gov\u2019t To Begin Arresting Citizens Who Post \u2018Hateful Content\u2019 on Social Media<\/h2>\n

The Canadian government has announced plans to begin arresting citizens who post material on social media deemed \u201coffensive\u201d by the government.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Recently asked about Bill C-9, the Combating Hate Act, Justice Minister Sean Fraser said the bill would apply to certain online content that involves the \u201cwillful promotion of hatred.\u201d<\/p>\n

Infowars.com<\/a>\u00a0reports: \u201cGenerally speaking, the law will apply equally online as it does in real communities,\u201d he said, adding, \u201cjust in the limited circumstances where there is the willful promotion of hatred against someone.\u201d<\/p>\n

As\u00a0reported by\u00a0LifeSiteNews, Bill C-9 has been blasted by constitutional experts as allowing empowered police and the government to go after those it deems have violated a person\u2019s \u201cfeelings\u201d in a \u201chateful\u201d way.<\/p>\n

Bill C-9 was\u00a0brought forth<\/a>\u00a0in the House of Commons on September 19 by Fraser. The Liberals have boasted that the bill will make it a crime for people to block the entrance to, or intimidate people from attending, a church or other place of worship, a school, or a community center. The bill would also make it a crime to promote so-called hate symbols and would, in effect, ban the display of certain symbols such as the Nazi flag.<\/p>\n

While being questioned by Conservative MP Andrew Lawton about Bill C-9, Fraser was asked if the new law would \u201caffect what people can say and write on the internet\u201d and also if people could be retroactively punished for online comments made today. https:\/\/www.sgtreport.com\/2025\/10\/canadian-govt-to-begin-arresting-citizens-who-post-hateful-content-on-social-media\/<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

While the idea of censoring out hate is appealing, the reality is that that Canada considers that the Bible itself contains hate speech that needs to be censored.<\/p>\n

Canada does not accept the Bible at this time. Since a court decision in 2002, Canada has restricted freedom to quote and cite the Bible (watch Canadian censoring of the Bible<\/a>). It also passed a motion limiting giving one\u2019s view of Islam (http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/news\/2017-03-24\/canada-passes-blasphemy-bill-silence-critics-islam<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Local Canadian officials have prohibited a Protestant school from being able to teach certain scriptures from the Bible. Here is an account of this from Canada:<\/p>\n

Our Constitution has religion hard-wired into it \u2014 the word Catholic is in our Constitution four times, specifically to protect religious education. That\u2019s part of the grand bargain of Canada, uniting French Canada and English Canada.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s shocking, but it\u2019s not surprising. Christianity has been driven out of the public square everywhere in Canada. But surely this is a new low \u2014 Christianity is actually being banned in a Christian school.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Government bureaucrats would never dream of telling Muslim schools they couldn\u2019t teach passages from the Koran \u2014 even ones that call for the murder of infidels and apostates. But banning the Bible is now official school board policy.<\/p>\n

And, not surprisingly, the media and the political class are silent. Even supposedly Christian or conservative politicians are keeping their heads down \u2014 they don\u2019t want to be attacked by the leftist mob at the CBC.<\/p>\n

The school board is digging in. They\u2019re closing ranks around Laurie Skori the chair. They\u2019re bullying the school. David Eggen, the NDP education minister, he hates Christian schools, wants to shut them down, has taken steps to shut others down. Alberta\u2019s NDP says Christian school cannot state that God\u2019s authority supersedes human authority<\/h2>\n

Alberta\u2019s NDP government has made the next move against religious schools in the province\u2014and this time, they\u2019ve dropped any pretence that their ongoing attacks on religious schools are anything short of crass bigotry. At the end of August, Education Minister David Eggen announced<\/a>\u00a0that funding would be pulled from Christian schools that refused to accept Gay-Straight Alliance Clubs.\u00a0 \u2026<\/p>\n

The NDP attacks on schools began as a radical progressive government forcing LGBT ideology into communities that did not want it, and have now metastasized into a blunt declaration by the government that schools cannot govern themselves according to their Christian beliefs. \u201cDiversity\u201d must be respected, by which the NDP means that a diverse array of religious schools must accept progressive ideology and accede to their demands or face further attacks from the government. This is no longer simply about Gay Straight Alliance clubs\u2014the NDP is telling Christian schools that they cannot teach Christian doctrine, cannot state their belief that the Bible is God\u2019s Word, cannot respect the primary role of parents in the education process, and cannot state that the biblical worldview is true.<\/p>\n

And, most tellingly, the NDP had a problem with one school noting that God\u2019s authority superseded man\u2019s authority\u2014because\u00a0they do not believe that to be true<\/em>. Canadian officials are often not acting in a manner consistent with what Canada was supposed to stand for when it was founded.<\/p>\n

Its top leaders have also pushed abortion and horrible agendas.<\/p>\n

More and more, in Canada as well as other lands, (see Germany approves \u2018same-sex marriage\u2019 and sets fines for Facebook, etc. to crack down on \u2018hate speech\u2019<\/a>) are seeing governments taking steps to remove\/control content on the internet.<\/p>\n

This was partially because the prophet Amos was inspired to record the following:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

11 \u201cBehold, the days are coming,\u201d says the Lord God,
\n\u201cThat I will send a famine on the land,
\nNot a famine of bread,
\nNor a thirst for water,
\nBut of hearing the words of the Lord.
\n12 They shall wander from sea to sea,
\nAnd from north to east;
\nThey shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the Lord,
\nBut shall not find it. (Amos 8:11-12)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Notice that the Bible tells of a time that will come when the word of God will not be found. I do not believe that this means that there will be no more Bibles\u2013but that those wanting to better understand it will have trouble finding explanations.<\/p>\n

Amos is referring to something as dramatic as truth being scarce. In the 21st century that logically would point to it being taken off the internet. In the 21st century, the internet is accessed by people in every country, and thus some type of internet restriction\/suspension\/site removal is coming\u2013more than what we have seen thus far.<\/p>\n

We are getting closer to this time. More and more are starting to see that there are plans to censor speech from the internet.<\/p>\n

That is part of why we in the Continuing<\/em> Church of God<\/a> are preparing for the \u2018short work\u2019 (Romans 9:28) and the coming \u2018famine of the word<\/a>.\u2019<\/p>\n

Jesus warned:<\/p>\n

12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. (Matthew 24:12-13)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Officials in the Canadian and other governments around the world do not respect the laws of the Bible and push their own morality\u2013which is often biblically immoral.<\/p>\n
