Ireland\u2019s president for the next seven years is an independent lawmaker who has long spoken in support of Palestinians and has been vocal about her distrust of European Union policies.<\/p>\n

Left-wing independent Catherine Connolly, 68, secured 63% of votes in a landslide election victory on Saturday, comfortably defeating her center-right rival, former Cabinet minister Heather Humphreys.<\/p>\n

The politician won after Ireland\u2019s left-leaning opposition parties, including Sinn F\u00e9in, united to back her, and she is expected to be a voice unafraid to challenge Ireland\u2019s center-right government.<\/p>\n

While Irish presidents hold a largely ceremonial role and do not have executive powers like shaping laws, they represent Ireland on the world stage and are often seen as a unifying voice on major issues. Connolly will succeed Michael D. Higgins, a popular president who has been vocal about the war in Gaza and NATO spending, among other things.<\/p>\n

In the video, she describes her fear of taking public transportation and simply going for a jog in her hometown \u2014 all due to rising immigration and the presence of migration centers in her area.<\/p>\n

She directly blames IPAS centers, short for International Protection Accommodation Service, which are migrant accommodations sprouting up across Ireland. Ireland is just getting angrier<\/h2>\n

There was something medieval about it, in the end: a horse-drawn cart charging into riot police; a man actually wielding a pitchfork<\/a>. On Tuesday night, in a leafy exclave of West Dublin, thousands of protesters-turned-rioters clashed with police in an attempted advance on an asylum hotel. Men waved Irish tricolours, many were pepper-sprayed, women watched on and called the police traitors, chants of \u201cget them out\u201d were ambient. We are familiar with the scene by now.<\/p>\n

The events leading up to the skirmish make it all seem inevitable. On Tuesday morning, a man in his twenties was charged \u2013 via an Arabic translator \u2013 in connection with the sexual assault of a ten-year-old girl. Mary Lou McDonald, leader of Sinn F\u00e9in, said he had been issued a deportation order earlier in the year, yet he remained in the Republic of Ireland. There had already been local opposition to the government\u2019s decision to make the CityWest hotel for asylum seekers in the small town of Saggart. And so, this familiar convergence of factors tumbled into street violence. Perhaps it was always going to.<\/p>\n

Think back to the clashes in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, in June<\/a> \u2013 which were preceded by the court appearance of two 14-year-olds accused of sexual assault on a teenage girl, litigated through a Romanian interpreter. Or to the Bell Hotel protests in Epping<\/a>, Essex \u2013 which were preceded by an asylum seeker charged (now convicted) with sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl, days after arriving to the UK. https:\/\/www.newstatesman.com\/international-politics\/2025\/10\/ireland-is-just-getting-angrier<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The latest attack spurred many nights of protests to take stronger actions against migrants.<\/p>\n

Irrespective of the election of Catherine Connolly, many in Ireland are afraid and\/or upset because of the migrant issues there.<\/p>\n

Eventually, Ireland along with much of the rest of Europe, will reach a breaking point and change.<\/p>\n

The Bible shows that Europe will reorganize and a certain strong leader will emerge:<\/p>\n

12 \u201cThe ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast<\/strong>. (Revelation 17:12-13)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The final European Beast leader, who is also known as the final King of the North<\/a>, will ultimately promote his religion (Daniel 11:36-38; which will not be Islam, he will at first feign and claim a form of Roman Catholicism). He will make a deceptive deal with the leader of a confederation of peoples in North Africa and the Middle East (cf. Daniel 11:27; Psalm 83:3-8).<\/p>\n

Islamic issues will be a factor in the rise of this Beast leader\u2013the Bible shows that a European Beast<\/a> leader will, after destroying the USA (Daniel 11:39), push against and overwhelm a power from the Middle East and North Africa (Daniel 11:40-43).<\/p>\n

It should be noted that this Beast leader is NOT Russian (see also Is Russia the King of the North?<\/a>). Despite claims from Protestant<\/a> Joel Richardson, this Beast leader is NOT Islamic (see also Is There an Islamic Antichrist?<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Migrant issues will be one of the triggers to get Europe to ultimately reorganize as the Bible teaches it will in Revelation 17:12-13, Daniel 11:21-38, Daniel 2:41-43, and other passages.<\/p>\n
