Germany\u2019s Great Army \u2013 Any Problems? WWIII?<\/a><\/h3>\n

At long last, from the perspective of the United States, Germany is stepping up to the plate and greatly increasing its military spending. The politicians in Germany have found a way to bypass the legal limitation on debt enshrined in the Basic Law. This is intended to enable them to develop the military and weaponry they feel is needed to protect themselves from potential threats. The Germans and 75% of NATO feel they have to take these types of steps because they feel the USA can no longer be relied on to help protect them militarily. Politico asked about Germany\u2019s military rebuilding, \u201cWhat Could Go Wrong?\u201d Could this rebuilding be part of the rise of the \u201cFourth Reich\u201d? If so, what would this mean? What were the first three Reichs? The so-called \u2018Holy Roman Empire\u2019 was the first. Imperial Germany of the 19th century was the second. Adolph Hitler\u2019s Nazi Germany was the third. Can the rise of the fourth Reich be related to a revival of some type of the Holy Roman Empire? The Bible shows that the final King of the North will have a \u201cgreat army\u201d (Daniel 11:25) and \u201cmany ships\u201d (Daniel 11:40). Could that be Germany, which is also working on many military technologies, including supercollider research? These are not disconnected impulses. Taken together, they converge into a strategy built to implement Trump administration\u2019s geoeconomic ambitions: complete regulatory freedom for Silicon Valley tech companies in Europe and a commercial reset with Russia at the expense of Ukrainian and European sovereignty. …<\/p>\n

As Ed Luce\u00a0recently wrote<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0Financial Times<\/em>, when Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and the Trump team look toward Europe \u201cthey see only obstacles to be cleared.\u201d Here too, a strong EU is the single greatest obstacle to the administration\u2019s wider business plan. https:\/\/foreignpolicy.com\/2025\/12\/15\/trum-vance-europe-silicon-valley-right-national-security-strategy\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The new National Security Strategy of the United States of America has many strange features. But the strangest, and for Europeans the most disturbing, is that they alone are now seen as the only ideological enemies of the US. In the rest of the document, interests are seen as merely material rather than ideological. Threats to democracy and freedom now come only from their opponents within the US and its closest allies. Thus, it asserts, that the powers of the US government must never be \u201cabused\u2009.\u2009.\u2009.\u2009under the guise of\u2009.\u2009.\u2009. \u2018protecting our democracy\u2019\u201d. Just below (and not by accident) it asserts: \u201cWe will oppose elite-driven, anti-democratic restrictions on core liberties in Europe, the Anglosphere, and the rest of the democratic world, especially among our allies\u201d. Furthermore, \u201cAmerican diplomacy should continue to stand up for genuine democracy, freedom of expression, and unapologetic celebrations of European nations\u2019 individual character and history. America encourages its political allies in Europe to promote this revival of spirit, and the growing influence of patriotic European parties indeed gives cause for great optimism.\u201d …<\/p>\n

Worse, it shows that the US wishes to break the EU as an institution … https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/b17e6660-7722-4723-953b-2d72e7ec9292<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Donald Trump, himself, was one of the biggest non-European advocates of Brexit\u2013the UK\u2019s exit from the European Union. The EU did not like that.<\/p>\n

Donald Trump wants Europe to break up into individual nation states as that would make it easier for the US to control each of them. The EU realizes this and does not like that.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, the Trump Administration released a new National Security Strategy that basically opposed the European Union and many of its goals–and the Europeans were not pleased (e.g. https:\/\/www.euronews.com\/my-europe\/2025\/12\/05\/trump-administration-warns-europe-of-civilisational-decline-in-new-national-security-strat<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Donald Trump\u2019s rise has also spurred the Europeans to further unify among themselves. \u2026 Donald Trump has been pointed to by various European leaders as \u2018proof\u2019 that Europe needs more unification and distance from the USA. …<\/p>\n

Because of not accepting and understanding biblical prophecies, many political and other leaders will be hoping for and believing in a false peace. The sudden destruction to come is likely to include a nuclear or other high tech attack, and could possibly happen in conjunction with a NATO\u00a0training or other exercise that would catch the USA\u00a0and its Anglo-Saxon-Celtic allies off guard. Other nations are likely to also be involved.<\/p>\n

The USA will be attacked by \u201cfriends\u201d consistent with the following:<\/p>\n

All her friends have dealt treacherously with her;
\nThey have become her enemies. cf. Lamentations 1:1-2).<\/p>\n

Notice the one who was \u201cgreat among the nations\u201d will be conquered by friends, who will become enemies. …<\/p>\n

The USA was prophesied to be \u201cgreat\u201d in Genesis 48:19 and is considered by international sources to be great among the nations of the world today<\/p>\n

The time will come when the USA and NATO will be no more. NATO or other arrangements could give the Europeans cover for publicly preparing for a military event, while giving it the ability to publicly state that such preparations are only parts of an exercise. The Germans have historically used the element of surprise to gain military advantage\u2014remember WWII and blitzkrieg? Europe one day will turn on the USA (Lamentations 1:1-2, Daniel 11:39; Isaiah 10:5-12). Weapons of mass destruction, and not necessarily just nuclear, will be employed.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

With the new National Security Strategy, Donald Trump has again offended the Europeans–which is something he has done for a decade or so.<\/p>\n

Is this breaking up the European Union?<\/p>\n

No.<\/p>\n

Does the EU want to expand instead?<\/p>\n

Yes.<\/p>\n

More than a decade after Croatia joined the EU, enlargement<\/a> in Brussels appears closer to reality than it has in years.<\/p>\n

As Brussels signals renewed commitment to enlargement, the question is no longer if, but which countries in the Western Balkans are ready to move forward …<\/p>\n

Why does the EU want to enlarge?<\/h3>\n

For the European Union, enlargement is both a strategic and a credibility issue. …<\/p>\n

Enlargement is also about Europe’s security and geostrategic interests. …<\/p>\n

EU enlargement is also seen as a geostrategic investment in Europe’s security and prosperity, says Tinatin Akhvlediani, research fellow at the EU Foreign Policy Unit at the Center for European Policy Studies.<\/p>\n

“If the Union does not expand into these countries, other powers could step in and exploit the region, using it as leverage against the European Union, including Russia and China,” Akhvlediani told DW. https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/eu-enlargement-in-the-western-balkans-all-together-now\/a-75192906<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Yes, being larger means that the EU can have more economic and military power, as well as be less dependent upon the USA.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, it is at least partially because of Trump Administration statements, actions, and policies that the EU feels it must expand.<\/p>\n

More expansion will take place. Consider that Daniel prophesied that the European Beast power will expand to the south and the east:<\/p>\n

9 And out of one of them came a little horn which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the Glorious Land. 10 And it grew up to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and some of the stars to the ground, and trampled them. 11 He even exalted himself as high as the Prince of the host; and by him the daily sacrifices were taken away, and the place of His sanctuary was cast down. 12 Because of transgression, an army was given over to the horn to oppose the daily sacrifices; and he cast truth down to the ground. He did all this and prospered. (Daniel 8:9-12).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And while the above had a past fulfillment, this prophecy seems to be dual (compare with Daniel 11:27-39). The European Union has mainly expanded south and east of the Benelux nations (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg)\u2013which is where it initially formed.<\/p>\n

The Balkans are south and east of the Benelux nations.<\/p>\n

EU Enlargement of the Beast?<\/a><\/h3>\n

The European Union recently approved its \u201c2025 Enlargement Package\u201d. This means the European Union is continuing to give consideration for inclusion of other countries into its political, military, and economic bloc. Why would the European Union want to do this? The saying \u201cMight makes Right\u201d come to mind. Is it possible the inclusion of the population of other countries along with the increased population, trade, and economic clout would increase the might of, not only the European Union, but also power and economies of the nations being included? Has the growth of Europe starting with the Benelux nations already primarily expanded towards the south and the east such as is prophesied for the \u2018little horn\u2019 of Daniel 8? Does the EU want the rest of the Balkan nations, which are also basically south and east of Benelux, to be part of it? Will this new Union really be stronger in the long run? If new nations do join the European Union, will they remain joined? So, who cares if other nations join the European Union? Who cares if the EU will be stronger or not? Well, what if Biblical prophecies were being fulfilled? Would anyone care then? Would it matter to you if the European Union plays a major role in Biblical prophecy? What if the European Union was the sixth king of Rev 17:10 would you care then? What is Europe will reorganize and be controlled by the \u2018666\u2019 Beast? Would you be concerned? You should be. The European Union wants to enlarge. It is not pleased with attempts by the Trump Administration to try to break it up.<\/p>\n

While the Bible shows that the nations in Europe will not stick together well, it further shows that they would support the Beast until destroyed by God in Daniel 2:41-45.<\/p>\n

By pushing and insulting Europe, some of the unintended consequences of the Donald Trump Administration have been that Europe is deciding it cannot rely on the US (e.g. New World Order? German Chancellor Merz asserts, \u2018The future of the world is created in Europe\u2019<\/a>) and that it must become a military power of its own (e.g. Europe to spend a $1 trillion on its military while the US considers cutting troop support<\/a>).<\/p>\n

That is consistent with various prophesies in the Bible and will surprise the world when it happens (cf. Revelation 13:3-4).<\/p>\n
