Trump\u2019s strike on Caracas has reverberated far beyond Latin America.<\/p>\n

The Israeli premier had gone to Florida with matters largely unsettled in Gaza and Lebanon, where the Hamas and Hezbollah terror groups have refused to disarm and have shown signs of attempting to rebuild, and worried that Iran could be gearing up for a fresh conflict as well.<\/p>\n

On all three fronts, the outcome largely hinges on Trump and what guarantees he can provide Israel, as well as what threats he can issue against his and Netanyahu\u2019s adversaries. Thus Jerusalem has a clear interest in the effectiveness of the Venezuela raid and what effect it has on the potency of both. …<\/p>\n

Iran, which expanded its influence over the Middle East as the US tried to disengage from the region in the wake of the long Iraq and Afghanistan occupations, has reason to be nervous after the raid. …<\/p>\n

With the Venezuela raid, the Islamic Republic should reasonably conclude that Trump is willing to back up his threats with action, and has the ability to make it happen. …<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s approach to Gaza differs from his stance on Venezuela. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has run point on American policy toward Caracas, advocating an aggressive posture with a steadily escalating use of US military force.<\/p>\n

Regarding Gaza, on the other hand, Trump has put special envoy Steve Witkoff in charge.<\/p>\n

On the back of every dollar bill, the phrase Novus Ordo Seclorum<\/em> (\u201cNew order of the ages\u201d) hints at the principle guiding the US\u2019 new security strategy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The attack on Venezuela and the capture of President Nicol\u00e1s Maduro<\/a> herald the decoupling of Trump\u2019s United States from the rules-based international order, and the end of liberal order as a whole. A new international order is now emerging, based on the use of force, revisionism and security on the American continent. …<\/p>\n

Ideals like democracy, the rule of law and free trade are fading fast, and without effective capacity, things don\u2019t end well for the European Union. US intervention in Venezuela marks new blow to dying international order<\/h2>\n

The shockwave matched the scale of the American coup de force in Venezuela early on the morning of Saturday, January 3. The American military intervention and the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro have threatened to further fracture an already crumbling international order.<\/p>\n

The United States flouted international norms and disregarded the sovereignty of a nation-state to forcibly topple a regime it considers an enemy. https:\/\/www.lemonde.fr\/en\/international\/article\/2026\/01\/04\/us-intervention-in-venezuela-marks-new-blow-to-dying-international-order_6749053_4.html<\/a><\/p>\n

The United Nations … spokesman for Secretary-General Ant\u00f3nio Guterres saying he was “deeply alarmed by the recent escalation in Venezuela, culminating with today’s United States military action in the country, which has potential worrying implications for the region”. https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2026-01-04\/venezuela-operation-us-blatant-disregard-international-law\/106197628<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In addition to likely difficulties in the USA trying to run Venezuela, there are three unintended consequences to mention here.<\/p>\n

The first is that the message that Iran’s Ayatollah likely received is that he may wish to strike out at Israel at a time of his choosing, before Israel, and possibly also the USA, strike out at him. This could trigger the prophesied “great damage’ that is to come to Jerusalem per Isaiah 22:6-9.<\/p>\n

Another is that this is concerning the allies of the USA in Latin America–and will push them more towards Europe.<\/p>\n

The third is that the Europeans see this attack as an affront to the international order, consider the USA is acting in an illegal manner, and therefore, this attack will be used as additional justification for the Europeans to conclude that they must improve their military capabilities so that Europe, and not the United States will lead the coming world order.<\/p>\n

That is something that the Europeans have long wanted to do anyway. But an intended consequence of Donald Trump’s actions and statements has been a more public willingness to state that Europe should lead the world order.<\/p>\n

America\u2019s adversaries heard him loudest.<\/p>\n

Even major European allies, more cautious and measured in tone, carefully signaled concern about\u00a0the operation\u2019s legality<\/a>\u00a0while largely aligning with the U.S. on policy.<\/p>\n

The USA is considered to be great among the nations, but has been turning friends into enemies.<\/p>\n

That is an unintended consequence of many of Donald Trump’s statements and actions.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the Bible warns about an hypocritical nation being taken over. The Bible, itself, teaches that the Assyrians\u00a0will be used to punish \u201can hypocritical nation\u201d (or hypocritical people, as the Hebrew can be translated as is done in Bishops\u2019 Bible of 1568) that refuses to repent:<\/p>\n

5<\/sup> O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation. 6<\/sup> I will send him against an hypocritical nation (Isaiah 10:5\u20136, KJV).<\/p>\n

1<\/sup> \u2026 Israel \u2026 3<\/sup> \u2026 Ephraim 5<\/sup> \u2026 the Assyrian shall be his king, Because they refused to repent. (Hosea 11:1,3,5)<\/p>\n

Christians all need to recall that when Jesus\u00a0came, He clearly condemned the hypocritical religious leaders of His day (e.g. Luke 11:44), more directly than he condemned the physically more obvious sinners (Matthew 9:10\u201313).<\/p>\n

This is not to say that non-Anglo-Saxon-Celtic nations do not have sin or that they will not be punished. The European Assyrians\u00a0will clearly also be punished, per Isaiah 10:12-19, but the punishment will begin first<\/strong> on those who should have known better. That is, the punishment will begin on those who have claimed to live rightly, but have repeatedly failed to do so. Those who were the people of the covenant with Israel should have striven to be faithful. Those who receive biblical blessings should not be surprised when they receive biblical curses for disobedience (cf. Deuteronomy 28:1-68).<\/p>\n

While the gospel warning message will be made fairly clear to the English-speaking peoples by the \u201cPhiladelphia Christians,\u201d prior to Daniel 11:39, because the British-American\u00a0nations are not likely to heed that warning, they will have to answer for their relative lack of response (cf. Ezekiel 33:7-9) and their survivors will be taken captive (cf. Habakkuk\u00a02:7).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

That said, a new world order is in the process of being formed–but it will not be the democratic ‘rules-based’ version that many in Europe say they want..<\/p>\n

It will be led by a European dictator until Jesus returns (Revelation 17:12-14).<\/p>\n
