Stardust to block sun? I365 sees possible fulfillment of Joel; COGwriter says look to Revelation 16:8-9
Israel365 News reported the following:
Silicon Valley bets $60 million on blocking the sun as Joel’s warning of darkness looms
October 28, 2025
Silicon Valley just wrote a $60 million check to turn down the sun. Stardust, an Israeli startup founded by two nuclear physicists, convinced some of the world’s wealthiest and most sophisticated investors to fund a plan that sounds like science fiction: dispersing reflective particles in the stratosphere to cool the planet by blocking sunlight. The technology mimics volcanic eruptions, which have temporarily cooled Earth by obscuring the sun with ash and debris. Yet thousands of years before scientists proposed dimming the sun to save humanity, the prophet Joel described a darkened sun as a harbinger of the Day of the Lord. The question is whether billionaire-backed geoengineering represents human ingenuity or the ultimate act of hubris. …
The startup has now raised $75 million total since its founding two years ago. The company is registered in Delaware and headquartered outside Tel Aviv, though it is not affiliated with the State of Israel.
Stardust CEO Yanai Yedvab and co-founder Amyad Spector say they have developed a reflective particle that mimics the cooling effect of volcanic eruptions. The company claims its powder is inert and would not harm the ozone layer or create acid rain like sulfur particles from volcanoes. The plan is to disperse these particles in the stratosphere at altitudes of about 11 miles above sea level.
“The investors were putting their trust in the concept of, we need a safe and responsible and controlled option for sunlight reflection, which for me is a very important step forward in the evolution of this field,” Yedvab told POLITICO in an interview at their London office. …
The Bible warns of a day when celestial bodies will be darkened. The prophet Joel writes: “And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come” (Joel 2:30–31).
Solar geoengineering, also called solar radiation modification or climate intervention, is drawing fierce criticism from scientists and theologians alike. Critics argue the technology is untested, thinly researched, and mostly unregulated. It could disrupt global weather patterns and trigger geopolitical conflict. …
The dangers are real. Modifying sunlight could alter global weather patterns, disrupt food supplies, or lead to abrupt warming if it stopped suddenly. It would not address ocean acidification, a major threat to ecosystems driven by carbon overabundance. Scientists fear solar geoengineering could damage the ozone layer, which shields Earth from harmful ultraviolet rays. Implementing the technology in one country could trigger rain and extreme weather across borders. https://israel365news.com/413406/silicon-valley-bets-60-million-on-blocking-the-sun-as-joels-warning-of-darkness-looms/
The startup would use the money it has raised to begin “controlled outdoor experiments” as soon as April, Yedvab told POLITICO. Those tests would release the company’s reflective particles inside a modified plane flying about 11 miles (18 kilometers) above sea level.
The idea, Yedvab explained, is that “instead of displacing the particles out to the stratosphere and start following them, to do the other way around — to suck air from the stratosphere and to conduct in situ experiments, without dispersing essentially.” https://www.politico.com/news/2025/10/24/global-cooling-startup-raises-60-million-dollars-to-test-sun-reflecting-technology-00620340
There is no way that this is the prophecy of Joel 2:30–31). Furthermore, this is foolish from a biological perspective. There is no way that all the possible impacts of this on the planet can be calculated by these scientists. Anything that blocks sunlight will also impact the growth of plants–plants that remove CO2 and produce more oxygen. Coming up with dust block technology will not really chain the sun.
That said, are humans going to be able to stop planet earth from getting a lot hotter?
Not really, though they could have temporal success.
Revelation 16:8-9 teaches that the earth is going to get hotter and scorch humans with great heat:
8 Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. 9 And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory. (Revelation 16:8-9)
Now, the above prophecy is for several years into the future–we are not too near that yet. But I believe that this will happen in the 21st century–hence I do not believe that the Stardust project can prevent this.
If anything, it may be that the Stardust project (if it becomes fully operational) will cause harm. Consider the following prophecy:
15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying,
“The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!”
16 And the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying:
“We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who is and who was and who is to come, Because You have taken Your great power and reigned.
18 The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, And the time of the dead, that they should be judged, And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear Your name, small and great,
And should destroy those who destroy the earth.” (Revelation 11:15-18)
We see that when Jesus returns, He will “destroy those who destroy the earth.” Perhaps that could include some involved with the Stardust or other scientific projects?
Whether it does or not, the Bible shows:
30 God … commands all men everywhere to repent (Acts 17:30)
And weather/climate problems are one tool that God uses to urge people to repent (cf. Haggai 2:17; Amos 4:7-12). But most will not. Nor will most Christians as they should (cf. Revelation 3:14-18; see also The Laodicean Church Era).
Furthermore, the Bible shows how to resolve climate change:
3 ‘If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them,
4 then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. 5 Your threshing shall last till the time of vintage, and the vintage shall last till the time of sowing; you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.
6 I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none will make you afraid; I will rid the land of evil beasts, and the sword will not go through your land. (Leviticus 26:3-6)
Notice that the solution to climate change according to the word of God does not have to do with technology, but obedience to God’s statutes and commandments.

COP 27 and Solving Climate Change
The dates for the United Nations Climate Change meeting called COP 27 are November 6th through 18th, 2022. During that time, on November 13, 2022, a ‘Chrislam’ type group composed of leaders from the Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Protestant, Islamic, Buddhist, Hindu, and other faiths associated with the Interfaith Center for Sustainable Development and the Elijah Interfaith Institute are making what they titled ‘A Prophetic Call for Climate Justice’ and are having a ‘Ceremony of Repentance’ on what is referred to as Mount Sinai, in Egypt. Do this sound Gaia, mother goddess worship? Are Christians supposed to have religious ceremonies with pagans? What did the Apostle Paul write? What did Jesus say would happen to the earth? Are humans, apart from God, going to solve climate problems before Jesus returns? Is there any type of false gospel associated with aspects of the climate change movement? Would obeying God solve the issues of pollution and climate change? What about the good news, the gospel of the Kingdom of God? Does the Bible have the solution to pollution? Does the Bible have the answer to solving climate change? Dr Thiel and Steve Dupuie discuss these issues.

Yes, there is a biblical solution to climate change, but most associated with the climate change crowd have overlooked that.
Putting dirt in the air is not the real solution.
