Elizabeth Warren on the campaign trail

Elizabeth Warren

COGwriter

A week ago, Democrat Elizabeth Warren essentially announced her candidacy for the office of US President.

And she has started to campaign:

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren is introducing herself to influential Iowa Democrats by telling her personal story of economic opportunity, trying to lay claim in the emerging 2020 presidential field as a champion for a middle class she says is withering under President Donald Trump. 01/05/19 https://www.apnews.com/31e670e6605c4f9a85930fdbfb8b31b2

There has been controversy over her claims of native American heritage and at least two Republican leaders have called her names to make fun of that:

Elizabeth Warren is making her first campaign tour around Iowa, a crucial state for the probable 2020 competitor, but was quickly forced to address an issue that’s likely to hurt her in the race for the White House.

During a Saturday morning event in Sioux City, audience members were given the chance to ask the Massachusetts senator questions. The first? A query about her decision to take a DNA test and release the results on her Native American ancestry.

“Why did you undergo the DNA testing and give Donald Trump more fodder to be a bully?” an audience member asked the Democrat.

Warren released results from the DNA test in October, which showed “strong evidence” of Native American ancestry, partially in response to criticism from Republicans, including President Donald Trump who nicknamed her “Pocahontas.” Conservatives have attacked Warren for claiming Cherokee heritage in order to gain favor for jobs that helped boost her career, something her former employers have said did not play a role in the hiring process.

The test results were widely mocked because they only showed that her Native American ancestry went back six to 10 generations. The test, which showed she was at least 1/1024th Native American, was also denounced by the Cherokee nation that said using “a DNA test to lay claim to any connection to the Cherokee Nation or any tribal nation, even vaguely, is inappropriate and wrong.”

After the question from the audience member, Warren on Saturday told Iowan voters that the test wasn’t meant to show any claim to a tribe and said she understood and respected the difference between ancestry and tribal citizenship. She said after the attacks she merely just wanted to “put it all out there.” https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2019/01/05/elizabeth-warren-supporters-question-why-mass-democrat-took-dna-test/2490438002/

Freshman Rep. Deb Haaland (D-N.M.), who this week became one of the first two Native American women sworn into Congress, said it was “offensive and hurtful” for Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) to call Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) “Sacagawea.” …

Gaetz made the remark about Warren and her claims of Native American heritage during a Fox News segment Friday.

“I know the president likes to call her ‘Pocahontas,’ but now that she’s making her way from the eastern seaboard into the center of the country, maybe Sacagawea would be more appropriate,” Gaetz said. “Instead of bringing Lewis and Clark, she is bringing the most liberal policies of the Democratic Party.”

Warren, who announced her plans to form an exploratory committee to run for president, was the first prominent Democrat to enter the 2020 race. 01/05/19 https://thehill.com/homenews/house/424021-new-dem-lawmaker-slams-gaetz-for-using-the-term-sacagawea-to-attack-warren

Notice also:

Did it play a role in her career?

Harvard Law School in the 1990s touted Warren, then a professor in Cambridge, as being “Native American.” They singled her out, Warren later acknowledged, because she had listed herself as a minority in an Association of American Law Schools directory. …

How did this become a political issue?

It began during Warren’s 2012 Senate run, when her opponent, Brown, accused her of lying to get a leg up in her academic career.
“Professor Warren claimed that she was a Native American, a person of color,” he said during a debate. “And as you can see, she’s not.”
Warren shot back that she had not gained any “advantage” — a claim that has proven impossible to fact check — and in a subsequent ad again cited family lore.  …

What’s been Trump’s line of attack?

Mostly name-calling and trying to use Warren’s statements about her heritage to discredit her.
“Let’s properly check goofy Elizabeth Warren’s records to see if she is Native American. I say she’s a fraud!” he tweeted in May 2016.
Trump sharpened his attacks as that campaign heated up, telling NBC News: “She made up her heritage, which I think is racist. I think she’s a racist, actually because what she did was very racist.” https://www.cnn.com/2016/06/29/politics/elizabeth-warren-native-american-pocahontas/index.html

A few days ago, Donald Trump sent out the following Tweet related to Elizabeth Warren’s campaign and his disdain for her Native American claims:

Donald Trump seems to be saying that Elizabeth Warren’s Native American heritage is highly insignificant, and he seems to wish to bully her out of the race.

Now, biblically, could there be any prophecies that may involve her?

Perhaps so, but first, some additional background may be helpful.

Her DNA test concluded “the vast majority of {her} ancestry is European.” Her heritage is of interest biblically.

As it turns out, since everyone had to descend from someone, ultimately their progenitors are somewhere listed in the Bible. Hence, biblical writings and prophecies can often be tied to descendants of those progenitors the Bible discusses.

Without going into all the historical details here (many of which can be found in the article Anglo – America in Prophecy & the Lost Tribes of Israel), the connection with Elizabeth Warren’s heritage is consistent with one who would probably have been descended from the patriarch Jacob–also known as Israel.

The Bible itself warns that if the children of Israel sinned and did not repent, the following would happen:

12 As for My people, children are their oppressors, And women rule over them. O My people! Those who lead you cause you to err, And destroy the way of your paths. (Isaiah 3:12)

So, we see a specific biblical prophecy warning of a time where there will be female rulers. And, as this has happened to descendants of Ephraim having a female in the top office, this would be expected to affect descendants and Manasseh. (Information on the roles of Christian women is in the article Women and the New Testament Church.)

Anyway, getting back to Elizabeth Warren herself, the Bible warns:

16 For the leaders of this people cause them to err, And those who are led by them are destroyed. (Isaiah 9:16)

Since multiple millions of the physical descendants of Israel reside in the United States and we are getting close to the end, it is interesting to note that the above prophecy has been fulfilled, to a degree, during administrations of recent U.S. presidents (with issues such as abortion), and potentially will also be during a possible Elizabeth Warren presidency.

Elizabeth Warren herself has worked on many issues of political, economic, and social significance during her adult life; not all of which are biblically good.

She tends to take socialist/communist views on the economy and other views some refer to as “progressive.”

She has long also been a promoter of abortion. and the LGBTQ agenda.  Here is something from Wikipedia:

Abortion

Warren supports abortion rights and opposes any Supreme Court nominees who “oppose legal abortion”.[62]

LGBT rights

Warren supports same-sex marriage and passing the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA).[63]

(Political Positions of Elizabeth Warren. Wikipedia, accessed 6 January 2019)

Since the ‘legalization of abortion’ and the Roe vs. Wade U.S. Supreme Court decision that Elizabeth Warren has repeatedly publicly endorsed, the U.S.A. has shifted from a creditor nation to a debtor nation (Howard J. Sherman, E. K. Hunt, Reynold F. Nesiba, Phillip Anthony O’Hara. Economics: An Introduction to Traditional and Progressive Views, 7th edition. M.E. Sharpe, 2008, p. 175).

The Bible teaches the following:

16… The Lord hates …. are an abomination to Him:

17 A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, (Proverbs 6:16-17)

The shedding of innocent blood is what abortion does.

Furthermore, the Bible teaches that debt is a curse for disobedience (Deuteronomy 28:15-44). The total amount of federal debt greatly increased under the Obama Administration and is also increasing under the Trump Administration. Although she did not directly cause it, she has not laid out a plan in her political life that will truly reverse this.

Regarding things like the LGBTQ agenda, the Bible warns of those:

25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie…

26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. (Romans 1:18-32)

Amongst other sins, the above scripture is clearly condemning lesbianism, homosexuality, and other forms of sexual immorality. Elizabeth Warren has clearly approved many behaviors which the Bible says leads to death (see also The Bible Condemns Homosexuality).

These are factors that will lead to the death and destruction of the United States (Daniel 11:39; Habakkuk 2:6-8).

By virtue of her timing and certain policies, if she does become President of the U.S.A., Elizabeth Warren will likely implement policies that will move toward the fulfillment of many prophecies.

Lest some of you discount all this, recall that the Bible teaches:

20 Do not despise prophecies. 21 Test all things; hold fast what is good. (1 Thessalonians 5:20-22)

Related to end time prophetic events, notice what Jesus said:

36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man. (Luke 21:36)

Pray and do not despise prophecies.

Of course, none of who are expected to be candidates for USA president will turn the nation back to God, thus none will truly fix the problems in the USA. It will take the return of Jesus Christ and the establishment of the Kingdom of God to do that.
