Right leaning rise in UK, what about USA?

Nigel Farage and Rand Paul

Nigel Farage has more plans for the United Kingdom and some wonder if this shift in politics might affect the USA:

May 30, 2014

UKIP is preparing for an assault on Aylesbury at next year’s general election after coming first among Vale voters in the European poll.

Leader Nigel Farage has included the constituency in a list of a dozen towns he thinks the party has a chance of winning – despite current Tory MP David Lidington currently enjoying a huge majority.  http://www.bucksherald.co.uk/news/more-news/farage-targets-ukip-general-election-swoop-on-aylesbury-as-mp-lidington-admits-people-feel-bruised-1-6083198

Opportunity knocks — and with the broad smile of Nigel Farage, leader of the United Kingdom Independence Party: The UKIP has stunned just about everyone by eclipsing both Labor and the Conservatives in the elections for a new European Parliament.

But will Republicans here answer the knock?

British voters, with a general election a year hence, have just signaled that they’re worried about the warnings on the European Union that Margaret Thatcher issued a generation ago.

They’re worried about taxes, over-regulation, the loss of their sovereignty.

This ought to be made to order for a Republican Party looking for opportunities to make friends across the pond.

But it’s hard to think of one Republican who seems alert to the GOP’s advantage here or senses that there is an issue for America in the turn away from Europe that Britain is considering.

President Obama, never one to let a good crisis go to waste, has had two of his heavies in London trying to exploit the situation.  http://nypost.com/2014/05/29/a-chance-for-an-ally-conservative-rising-in-britain/

Political elites in Britain are stunned at the win by the UK Independence Party in the recent EU Parliament election. Interestingly, the word “earthquake” appeared frequently regarding the vote…

As a Euroskeptic party, Ukip aims to divorce the UK from the European Union because the EU has shredded the national sovereignty of all members.

In his victory statement, Nigel Farage noted, “The penny’s really dropped; that as members of this union, we can’t run our own country and crucially we can’t patrol our own borders.”  https://www.vdare.com/posts/britain-immigration-restriction-wins-for-ukip-will-us-republicans-notice

The time will come when Britain will not be a regular part of the European power that is arising.   Even others in the press are starting to see that possibility as the following headline suggests:

Europe has an even bigger crisis on its hands than a British exit

British people will vote to leave the EU unless offered a new dispensation, writes Ambrose Evans-Pritchard  http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/comment/ambroseevans_pritchard/10861252/Europe-has-an-even-bigger-crisis-on-its-hands-than-a-British-exit.html

Some believe that the recent election results in the UK and France are putting the Euro itself at risk.  And it is certainly possible that the Euro will be replaced some day.

Now getting back to the point about whether the UK election will affect the USA, there are various issues that are not really the same.  No major leader is seriously trying to get the USA out of NATO or anything like the European Union.

In the USA, Rand Paul is possibly the closest political equivalent to Nigel Farage. Both leaders want to reduce the involvement that their respective nations have with foreign arrangements and both claim to want less regulation and less taxes.

That being said, many believe it was the immigration issue that helped Nigel Farage, and in the USA that would not be expected to assist someone like Rand Paul so much.  Furthermore, because the UK has a parliamentary system, smaller parties can gain a type of leverage that does not happen in the USA nearly as much.

The recent covering of the fact that the USA seems to have plans, however, to attack its own citizen, is an issue that could resonate with Americans the same way immigration has with some voters in the UK:

Inside the Ring: Memo outlines Obama’s plan to use the military against citizens
Washington Times – May 28, 2014

A 2010 Pentagon directive on military support to civilian authorities details what critics say is a troubling policy that envisions the Obama administration’s potential use of military force against Americans.

The directive contains noncontroversial provisions on support to civilian fire and emergency services, special events and the domestic use of the Army Corps of Engineers.

The troubling aspect of the directive outlines presidential authority for the use of military arms and forces, including unarmed drones, in operations against domestic unrest.

“This appears to be the latest step in the administration’s decision to use force within the United States against its citizens,” said a defense official opposed to the directive.

Directive No. 3025.18, “Defense Support of Civil Authorities,” was issued Dec. 29, 2010, and states that U.S. commanders “are provided emergency authority under this directive.”

“Federal military forces shall not be used to quell civil disturbances unless specifically authorized by the president in accordance with applicable law or permitted under emergency authority,” the directive states.

“In these circumstances, those federal military commanders have the authority, in extraordinary emergency circumstances where prior authorization by the president is impossible and duly constituted local authorities are unable to control the situation, to engage temporarily in activities that are necessary to quell large-scale, unexpected civil disturbances” under two conditions.

The conditions include military support needed “to prevent significant loss of life or wanton destruction of property and are necessary to restore governmental function and public order.” A second use is when federal, state and local authorities “are unable or decline to provide adequate protection for federal property or federal governmental functions.”

“Federal action, including the use of federal military forces, is authorized when necessary to protect the federal property or functions,” the directive states.

Military assistance can include loans of arms, ammunition, vessels and aircraft. The directive states clearly that it is for engaging civilians during times of unrest.

A U.S. official said the Obama administration considered but rejected deploying military force under the directive during the recent standoff with Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy and his armed supporters. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/may/28/inside-the-ring-directive-outlines-obamas-policy-t/

Rand Paul is one who has asked hard questions about drones and related matters and is considered as a serious opponent to some of the USA government’s potential plans that way.  This could help him.

It is also possible that there will be an increase in USA isolationism as even its President Obama advocates that, though he couches it in terms such as multi-lateralism (see Obama wants multilateralism: Does the Bible have a warning about that?).  And yes, I know that sounds like a blatant contraction, but the reality is that many in the USA are tired of all the wars that the USA has been involved in, and leaders like Barack Obama and Rand Paul are trying to capitalize on that.

We will see how this will affect the election in 2016 in the USA.

Before then, however, there is the expected election in the UK in 2015 that may result in the UK leaving the European Union or at least changing its stance towards it.

Europe itself will change. The Bible actually teaches that the European Beast power will have to have three reorganizations (Revelation 17:12, 13, & 15-18), not necessarily counting what Nigel Farage hopes will happen (see also Must the Ten Kings of Revelation 17:12 Rule over Ten Currently Existing Nations?).

The reality is that the UK will leave or somehow be eliminated from the final confederation of nations that will be part of the European Beast power. Ultimately, the Europeans will divide up and rule the UK.

The Bible warns of a time of trouble for the Anglo-Saxon-Celtic nations (Jeremiah 30:7) and that they will be taken over by a European power, and this will also include the USA (Daniel 11:39; Isaiah 10:5-11).
