More protests and divide in the USA

There were at least three people shot, and one killed, by US Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials this week.
Here is something related to the killing by James Schiff:

On January 7, 2026, a ICE officer Jonathan Ross shot and killed 37-year-old Renee Good.
It goes without saying that the death of a US citizen by a US federal agent on US soil is horrific. So are the circumstances that led to the shooting.
Six months earlier, Agent Ross was in Minneapolis attempting to arrest an illegal migrant who had been convicted of sexually assaulting a minor.
The migrant was in his vehicle when Ross tried to make the arrest. Rather than submit, the migrant hit the gas with Ross’s arm stuck in the window, dragging him more than 100 yards.
Ross was sent back to Minneapolis to arrest more criminals. But this time he wasn’t just facing criminals. He was facing a coordinated network of activists whose mission was to disrupt his work.
The network is called ICE Watch. Their stated mission: “documenting and resisting ICE.” Track agents. Film them. Badger them. Dox them. Increase stress and tension. Surround them. Whistle to warn targets. Block vehicles. Coordinate in daily chat groups. Escalate. …
There should obviously be an investigation. And if Agent Ross is charged with a crime, I sincerely hope the jury can remain impartial, listen to the facts, and reach an objective decision …
I’m completely mystified — why would anyone, especially the parent of a young child, choose to insert herself between armed federal agents on one side, and a suspected illegal migrant rapist on the other.
I struggle to understand the calculus. Where was the upside? Put yourself in harm’s way so that some suspected criminals might remain free? It’s bewildering.
Renee Good is absolutely a victim. She’s a victim of the leftist mental disease that infected her.
Her ex-husband says she “never participated in a protest” in all the years he knew her.
But when Trump won in 2024, she and her new partner “fled” to Canada. But that didn’t last long, and when they came back, they enrolled her 6-year-old at a K-5 charter school whose stated mission is “involving children in political and social activism.”
This is where she met the ICE Watch network. And now she’s dead.
ICEWatch was originally used by the IDP (Immigration Defense Project).
Her “wife” was a participant in the Minnesota ICE Watch movement.
A few days before this incident, “MN ICE Watch” held virtual seminars on how to disrupt ICE operations.

Nearly half of the country blames those shot for getting in the way of ICE agents trying to do their job, while much of the rest blame the ICE agents and the President of the United States for what happened.
This has resulted in a lot of protests from those opposed to ICE and Donald Trump.
I even saw a noisy protest here in Grover Beach this week against ICE and Donald Trump.
More protests are planned across the USA related to the ICE and Donald Trump.
This type matter was not unexpected.
Last month, in my article titled 26 items to prophetically watch in 2026, I wrote the following:

There have been many protests in the USA.
Some protested racial, economic, and policing matters. Some have called for a “civil war.”
The Bible prophesies, “There shall be terror within” (Deuteronomy 32:25).
Will that happen to the USA?
Yes.
More terror is prophesied to hit the USA. Terror is prophesied to hit Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.
Jesus taught:
25 Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. (Matthew 12:25)
We are seeing more divide in the USA and parts of it certainly appear to be intentional. Much of it is ideological. The USA is becoming less and less united and more polarized.
Deporting people may cause unrest in the USA.
Deporting people may cause unrest in Europe.
Expect protests, including violence, in the USA. …
Expect more divide in a nation where half of its people cannot tell the different between males and females and the other half still sticks to some facts about that. And of course, there is the abortion divide, migrant matters, and other issues.
In general, the mainstream media has tended to be on the side of the protesters.
Overall in the USA, there are almost no unbiased reporters of news, as most broadcasters and journalists tend to push a narrative one way or the other depending on their political views.
While this is not new, it was worsened to a major degree in the USA in the 21st century.

There are competing narratives about Wednesday’s ICE-involved shooting in Minneapolis. Some left-leaning corporate outlets focused on the fact that a woman was shot and killed by an ICE agent during a federal enforcement deportation operation, while other media, like the New York Post, highlighted that the woman, identified as 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good, was part of a left-wing group “Ice Watch” that mounted pressure campaigns on ICE agents on the ground. …
Alpha News has obtained cellphone footage from what appears to be one of the ICE agents, and it provides a completely new perspective on what happened and why the ICE agent felt threatened enough to fire several shots at Good, killing the activist. …
The NYPost reported late Thursday night that Good was an anti-ICE “warrior” and part of a network of left-wing activists who worked to “document and resist” ICE operations in Minnesota.

The video begins with Ross in front of the vehicle driven by Good, who had stopped her burgundy SUV perpendicular to the street, obstructing the flow of traffic. Ross does not say anything as he walks across the front of the car toward the driver’s side of the car.
As he rounds the car, Good can be seen with her window down looking directly at the officer. …
“That’s fine dude. I’m not mad at you,” she says. Ross does not respond. In the car window a reflection can be seen of Ross, holding his phone up, as he continues to walk. You can also hear the victim’s wife, Becca Good, say “show your face” to Ross.
The video shows Ross walking around to the back of the car. Becca Good, the passenger in the car, who had gotten out of the vehicle prior to the confrontation …
You then hear another officer tell Good, the driver, to “get out of the … car.”
Good is then seen reversing the car and glancing forward as she turns the steering wheel to the right, away from where the officer is standing. The car moves forward, and Ross cries out “whoa” and then three gunshots are heard in rapid succession.
The video does not show if the SUV made contact with Ross, as the camera angle jerks up to the sky. An earlier video shot by a bystander shows that the SUV may have made contact with Ross as it lurches forward, and he moves to the side.
DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said the newly released video backs up what the agency has said – that the ICE agent acted in self-defense. https://www.cnn.com/2026/01/09/us/ice-agent-cellphone-video-minneapolis
I watched the video mentioned above. And while I am not sure that “obstructing” was the right word, the ICE agents can be heard telling the driver to come out of her car and she sped off, and one who looked to be her passenger (as she possibly tried to get in the car)/supposed “wife” did try to go out of her way to insult and agitate the ICE agents when she was out of the car. And the recording ICE agent seems to have been knocked down based on what happened to the videoing camera.
That said, notice something from the old Radio Church of God written by the late Garner Ted Armstrong over 60 years ago:
“POLICE BRUTALITY!” “Poverty!” “Unequal opportunity!” “Illiteracy!” “Poor housing!” “Police Chief Parkerl” These are hurled back and forth as causes of the race riots in Los Angeles. …
The cause: HUMAN NATURE. And remember, once again, just what IS human nature! Human nature is a mixture of vanity, jealousy, lust and greed. Jeremiah was inspired to write, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it” (Jer. 17:9).

The Bible is the book about human nature. It explains what human nature really IS, how it is hostile and angry toward law. The apostle Paul said, “Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be!” (Rom. 8:7.) And the lusts, jealousies, resentments and frustrations of human nature are not limited to anyone race. But they are most assuredly aggravated by race hatred. …
Racial tensions in the United States are being aggravated during these modern times, not quieted. Bigotry and bias are INCREASING, not decreasing. …
The plain truth of the matter is that the family is breaking down and disintegrating among all racial communities, around the world!
And remember, too, that Almighty God seriously indicts His people ISRAEL, more than any others for this breakdown in the family! He said, through Isaiah, “As for MY people [and he was referring to the House of Israel !], children are their oppressors, and women rule over them, o my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths” (Isa. 3:12). ..broken homes-that is, homes in which one or the other parent is absent! And what effect would this have on the morals, the character, the education, the economic status of all these children?

When a white man murders, he is a white murderer. And when a black man murders, he is a black murderer. The color of a man’s skin is only one more description of him as a person, as a human being- like his height, weight, shape, place of birth or age. But whether he is white or black, red, pink, polka dotted or blue-if he breaks the law, if he resists arrest, if he loots, robs, kills or steals, then he is guilty of LAWBREAKING-NOT “guilty” merely because he is a member of one race or another. We might consider that this week’s protests are consistent with a prediction from Garner Ted Armstrong.
And yes, there is police brutality.
While I do not know what the ICE agent who killed a woman driver saw or felt, shooting her seems excessive.
But his actions, considered legal or not, do not justify violent protests.

Notice a generational warning from two books of the Bible:
11 There is a generation that curses its father,
And does not bless its mother.
12 There is a generation that is pure in its own eyes,
Yet is not washed from its filthiness.
13 There is a generation — oh, how lofty are their eyes!
And their eyelids are lifted up.
14 There is a generation whose teeth are like swords,
And whose fangs are like knives, (Proverbs 30:11-14)5 “They have corrupted themselves;
They are … A perverse and crooked generation. (Deuteronomy 32:5)
Yes, we a seeing a generation like that.
Of course, it is not just some associated with the protests.
Notice that God inspired Isaiah to write:
8 Now go, write it before them on a tablet,
And note it on a scroll,
That it may be for time to come,
Forever and ever:
9 That this is a rebellious people,
Lying children,
Children who will not hear the law of the Lord;
10 Who say to the seers, “Do not see,”
And to the prophets, “Do not prophesy to us right things;
Speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits.
11 Get out of the way,
Turn aside from the path,
Cause the Holy One of Israel
To cease from before us.”12 Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel:
“Because you despise this word,
And trust in oppression and perversity,
And rely on them,
13 Therefore this iniquity shall be to you
Like a breach ready to fall,
A bulge in a high wall,
Whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant. (Isaiah 30:8-13)
The above is applicable to much of the USA.
More and more are despising the word of God and trusting in perversity.
The USA needs national repentance–without it is is doomed–and it will end fairly soon (cf. Daniel 11:39).
Many will say that the US has been promoting sin and increasing debt for decades, without problems, thus since it has the strongest military, etc., nothing will change.
Consider the following scriptures:
11 Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. 12 Though a sinner does evil a hundred times, and his days are prolonged, yet I surely know that it will be well with those who fear God, who fear before Him. 13 But it will not be well with the wicked; nor will he prolong his days, which are as a shadow, because he does not fear before God. (Ecclesiastes 8:11-13)
Yes, we are seeing increases in evil. The LGBTQ+ movement, which trusts in perversity, comes directly to mind.
Jesus said:
8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows. …
28 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 29 So you also, when you see these things happening, know that it is near — at the doors! 30 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. (Mark 13:8, 28-30)
37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!” (Mark 13:37)
We are in a time of troubles and sorrows as Jesus prophesied.
It is the final generation of this age that experiences the beginning of sorrows and the ride of the four horsemen (and the opening of the first four seals).
National repentance is what the USA needs.
But since that is not likely, nor what the protesters or the Trump Administration are calling for, it will fall.
The USA does not truly need protests or troops in the street. The USA needs repentance, the return of Jesus, and the Kingdom of God.
