What's ahead for the Spanish and Portuguese speaking peoples of Latin America? Do current and historical world conditions give some clues to the fate of Mexico in prophecy? What about Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Columbia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela in prophecy? What about Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama? Might Belize and Guyana be in a separate category? What about Suriname and French Guiana?
What similarities do they have? How are they different?
From Mexico in the north down to Chile and Argentina in the south, Latin America covers a vast amount of territory. And they have thousands of miles of seacoast.
In all of these lands, most of the people are either of European heritage, indigenous, or a mixture of indigenous and European. And even DNA evidence links many of the indigenous to Europe and West Asia (see DNA evidence seems to validate Dr. Hoeh’s origin of native North Americans), where various Europeans also were. Most people in the nations of Latin America have some type of ethnic tie to Europe. And the vast majority of the people in Latin America speak some type of a European language.
The ancient Romans developed a system of laws, courts and administrative skills to manage their empire. Today, that Roman law forms the basis of legal codes in France, Italy, the European Union, and in the Latin American countries. Roman law also undergirds Roman Catholic canon law (Civilization Past & Present, Wallbank, 6th edition, pp. 87–88). European and Latin American legal systems much more closely resemble each other than they do of the American and British systems (the American system is based on the British system).
Most of the peoples in Latin America are Roman Catholic. And this is true of nearly every nation there. Religion, thus, is a major cultural tie to Europe. The fact that the current Bishop of Rome, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, now known as Pope Francis (see also Argentinian is now Pope Francis), was born in Argentina also will help cement the ties further to Europe.
Certain parts of Latin America are also politically quite connected to Europe. French Guiana is actually part of France and uses the Euro as its currency. Suriname still maintains close ties to the Netherlands. There exists certain legal connections between those of Portugal and Brazil which ties those nations relatively closely. Guyana used to be part of the British Commonwealth (however, because of ethnic reasons, I suspect that in the end it may decide to be more closely aligned with the rest of Latin America and continental Europe than with the UK). Most of the Spanish-speaking nations have ties to each other as well as Spain.
While Brazilians are often of mixed ethnicity, Brazil is believed to have a significant Jewish influence as well (see Jewish Heritage of Brazil).
But essentially, the Latin American nations are primarily made up of Gentile-descended peoples. During the prophesied "time of the Gentiles" the Gentile-descended nations, and not the Anglo-descended ones, will rule the earth (more information on that can be found in the article Can the Great Tribulation Begin in 2014, 2015, or 2016?).
Even now, the Latin American nations are gaining political influence in the world. So much so, they are affecting events in the Middle East (for one example, see Interim Peace Deal for the Middle East).
Because of the cultural, ethnic, language, legal, and religious ties between Europe and Latin America, the two regions will likely cooperate more in the future. These ties will be primarily economic, along with the religious and cultural ones, but also may include some type of military cooperation. Based upon Ezekiel 27:12-23 and other scriptures, the late evangelist John Ogwyn wrote that Latin America would prosper along with Europe for a time (Ogwyn J. The United States and Great Britain in Prophecy).
The Bible tells of the origins of various peoples. All not only descended through Adam and Eve (cf. Genesis 3:20), but also Noah (cf. Genesis 7:13-23).
Notice the following:
1 Now this is the genealogy of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And sons were born to them after the flood. 2 The sons of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras. 3 The sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah. 4 The sons of Javan were Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim. 5 From these the coastland peoples of the Gentiles were separated into their lands, everyone according to his language, according to their families, into their nations. (Genesis 10:1-5)
Notice some comments related to Latin America by the late Dr. Herman Hoeh:
The basic Latin-American racial stock is Japhetic.
For 450 years the native Indian population of Latin America has been ruled over by Spanish-speaking people. The Spanish people who came to the New World were in ancient times the sons of Tarshish, the grandson of Japheth. But for centuries before the Roman Empire rose to power, the Canaanites from Carthage in North Africa dominated and migrated to the Spanish peninsula. Later, much of Spain was conquered (from 711 A.D. to 1492 A.D.) by Arabs and by the descendants of the Carthaginians who bore the name of "Moors" — meaning "Amorites."
The Spanish-speaking people were thus the olive-skinned European product of a dual racial culture when they arrived in America. A few exceptions are the blond Spaniards of Chaldean extraction who entered Spain after 400 A.D.
When the Spanish came to the New World they completely eclipsed the culture of the copper-skinned Indians, who were descendants of Tiras, the son of Japheth. As the centuries have passed, the overwhelming bulk of Latin-American people have become MESTIZOS — meaning "mixed." The ruling classes are still partly Spanish in some areas, but ALMOST EVERYONE, in one degree or another, IS PARTLY INDIAN, though he may call himself "Spanish."
Latin-American peoples have become a mixed community, therefore, that is bound not merely by racial ties with the Indian, but bound also by language ties. (Good News magazine, March 1958)
The Bible prophesies the following:
12 "Tarshish was your merchant because of your many luxury goods. They gave you silver, iron, tin, and lead for your goods. 13 Javan, Tubal, and Meshech were your traders. They bartered human lives and vessels of bronze for your merchandise. 14 Those from the house of Togarmah traded for your wares with horses, steeds, and mules. 15 The men of Dedan were your traders; many isles were the market of your hand. They brought you ivory tusks and ebony as payment. 16 Syria was your merchant because of the abundance of goods you made. They gave you for your wares emeralds, purple, embroidery, fine linen, corals, and rubies. 17 Judah and the land of Israel were your traders. They traded for your merchandise wheat of Minnith, millet, honey, oil, and balm. 18 Damascus was your merchant because of the abundance of goods you made, because of your many luxury items, with the wine of Helbon and with white wool. 19 Dan and Javan paid for your wares, traversing back and forth. Wrought iron, cassia, and cane were among your merchandise. 20 Dedan was your merchant in saddlecloths for riding. 21 Arabia and all the princes of Kedar were your regular merchants. They traded with you in lambs, rams, and goats. 22 The merchants of Sheba and Raamah were your merchants. They traded for your wares the choicest spices, all kinds of precious stones, and gold. 23 Haran, Canneh, Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Assyria, and Chilmad were your merchants. 24 These were your merchants in choice items — in purple clothes, in embroidered garments, in chests of multicolored apparel, in sturdy woven cords, which were in your marketplace. (Ezekiel 27:12-24)
As far as embroidered garments and chests of multicolored apparel go, I have seen this is in places in Latin America such as Mexico and Guatemala.
Although the real Church of God is small, it does have a small presence in many countries in the Latin American region as well as the Caribbean. And like the Catholics of Rome, the Philadelphia remnant of it, as represented by the Continuing Church of God (CCOG), claims real ties to the early apostolic church--though unlike the Church of Rome (please see What Do Roman Catholic Scholars Actually Teach About Early Church History?), we believe that history shows that we have the most faithful apostolic succession. (We also have items in the Spanish and Portuguese languages, such as this article [Español] [Português]; here is a link to CCOG's Spanish article page La página en español de Continuación de la Iglesia de Dios).
There are various political and economic alliances in Latin America. There are two to mention here. Mercosur and the Pacific Alliance.
The Most Important Alliance You've Never Heard OfLatin American countries have failed to work together for two centuries. That may be about to change.
Is a decade of progress in Latin America coming to an end? For some countries, surely. But not necessarily for the entire region. Four nations are developing an initiative that could add new dynamism to Latin America, redraw the economic map of the region, and boost its connections with the rest of the world—especially Asia. It could also offer neighboring countries a pragmatic alternative to the more political groupings dominated by Brazil, Cuba, and Venezuela.
Amid all the bad news in the region, the presidents of Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru met with little fanfare in Cartagena last week to seal an economic pact launched in 2012. They call their project the Pacific Alliance, and it will soon include Costa Rica and possibly several other countries. The four founding members are the most successful economies in Latin America; they boast the region's highest economic-growth rates and lowest inflation rates. Together, they represent 36 percent of the region's economy, 50 percent of its international trade, and 41 percent of all incoming foreign investment. If the Alliance were a country, it would be the world's eighth-largest economy and seventh-largest exporter...
The surprise, however, is that the Pacific Alliance has already yielded more results in its 20 months of existence than similar initiatives that have been around for decades. The four countries have eliminated 92 percent of all import tariffs among them. Chile, Colombia, and Peru have linked their stock markets so that a company listed in one of the exchanges can be traded in the other two...
Mercosur, an ambitious economic and political agreement launched in 1991 between Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay (and which in 2012 admitted Venezuela and suspended Paraguay after its president was impeached) has been a disappointment when measured against its goals and potential. Brazil and Argentina are not just neighbors but the two largest nations in South America. Yet squabbles, economic crises, and differing political and economic agendas have crippled their integration and thwarted the project.
In 2012, for example, trade among Mercosur members was a paltry 15 percent of the countries' combined trade, whereas 20 percent of their total commerce was with Europe and 14 percent with China alone. Increasingly, the lofty economic ambitions that originally inspired Mercosur have been replaced by parochial political maneuvers, ideological posturing, and bitter recriminations among members. http://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2014/02/the-most-important-alliance-youve-never-heard-of/283877/
It perhaps should be pointed out that various ones in Latin America have different views. Some believe the group Mercosur is more of the answer than the Pacific Alliance. We may see that the two groups grow and perhaps will work together or merge in the future.
For years I have written that I felt that those of Latin America would ultimately align with the upcoming European Beast power against the USA and its Anglo-allies (watch also Can You Prove that the Beast to Come is European?). The European Union has been negotiating trade arrangements with many of the countries in Mercosur and the Pacific Alliance, as well as others in Latin America not affiliated with those groups.
The Bible shows that the world will prosper for a time because of a coming European Beast power, but that power will be short-lived (Revelation 18). Thus, because of current and expected trade alliances, I remain of the view that nearly all (if not all) of Latin America will end up supporting the Europeans in the future.
Brazilian wealth and influence are increasing around the world. Brazilians are getting much more respect on the world scene. So much so, that Brazil is considered by some to be one of the four major economic powers in the near future (although those who say so, and leave out Europe, are erring).
The emerging economic powers of Brazil, Russia, India, and China have been combined into an acronym called BRIC. The so-called BRIC nations are emerging, essentially debt-free, and are becoming more major players in the world economy in the 21st century than they were for the 20th century. Some believe that they will dominate the world economy.
Wikipedia had the following report:
BRIC or BRICs are terms used in economics to refer to the combination of Brazil, Russia, India, and China. The acronym was first coined in 2001 and prominently used in a thesis of the Goldman Sachs investment bank. The main point of these papers was to argue that the economies of the BRICs are rapidly developing and by 2050 will eclipse most of the current richest countries of the world. The Goldman Sachs thesis proposed something like an economic bloc, or a formal trading association, like the European Union. However, there are strong indications that the "four BRIC countries have been seeking to form a political club" or "alliance", and thereby converting "their growing economic power into greater geopolitical clout". One of the recent indications was from a BRIC Summit meeting in 2008, in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg between the foreign ministers from the BRIC countries...
Goldman Sachs argues that the economic potential of Brazil, Russia, India, and China is such that they may become among the four most dominant economies by the year 2050 (BRIC Wikipedia, viewed 09/16/08).
Some have felt that Brazil will end up in a confederation with Asia based upon a Chinese plan:
Today, the strong leadership of President Hu Jintao has clearly recognized that: a) China needs to rely on its own strength first; and b) the best way of developing this power is through a partnership with India and Russia…
In the next round, Iran and Indonesia would enter as partners within the TGA, followed by some key countries in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and a peacefully unified, nuclear-armed Korea. The TGA would have an Asian membership, but global influence, even in Phase I, when only Russia, China and India would be members. Phase II would see the entry of other Asian powers, while Phase III would witness the entry of selected countries in South America, such as Brazil, and Africa, such as Nigeria and South Africa. (NALAPAT M.D.Facing Western supremacy. UPI Outside View Commentator, NEW DELHI, Feb. 13 , 2007 http://www.upi.com/InternationalIntelligence/view.php?StoryID=20070212-115533-6356r).
Brazil differs from most of Latin America because instead of Spanish, its primary language is Portuguese. Because of this, apparently some do not seem to feel that it will stick that closely to the Spanish-speaking nations in South America. But Spanish Latin America and Portuguese Brazil do, despite occasional tensions, cooperate now.
Furthermore, it was announced before that Brazil seems to be tying its military future in with Europe in general and France in particular:
Brazil Signs Arms Deal With France
By ALEXEI BARRIONUEVO
Published: December 24, 2008
Brazil and France signed a defense agreement on Tuesday worth more than $12 billion that will give Brazil technology to develop its arms industry and build a nuclear-powered submarine, the two governments said. Under the accord, signed by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of Brazil and President Nicolas Sarkozy of France in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil will buy 50 EC-725 Super Cougar helicopters from France, and the two countries will jointly develop a nuclear submarine and four diesel submarines. Brazil is increasing military spending as part of a new defense strategy that emphasizes protecting the Amazon and newly discovered deep-water oil fields. (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/12/24/world/americas/24briefs-BRAZILSIGNSA_BRF.html)
Brazil to build nuclear submarines which will dramatically alter balance of power in South America
Daily Mail, UK – July 17, 2011
The Brazilian government has started work on a submarine programme which will include the construction of South America’s first nuclear subs.
The move will boost Brazil’s claim to be the strongest force in the region, and strengthen the country’s military assertiveness…The first, being built in collaboration with a French contractor, is due to come into service in 2016. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2015731/Brazil-build-nuclear-submarines-dramatically-alter-balance-power-South-America.html
The acquisition of a French helicopters and ultimately nuclear submarines by Brazil shows that the nation is clearly emerging on the world scene to be more than simply a supplier of natural resources and some manufactured goods. This new deal seems to indicate that much of Brazil's future military hardware is likely to come from Europe. This also seems to be consistent with the objectives of Europe as it hopes to supply more military hardware to Brazil (Lagorce A. EADS looks to India, Brazil for defense growth. July 18, 2010. http://www.marketwatch.com/story/eads-looks-to-india-brazil-for-defense-growth-2010-07-18)
Since there are many from Europe who live in Brazil, and because of the religious connections to Catholicism, even if Brazil makes a variety of agreements with Russia, India, and/or China, I believe that it will end up closer to the Europeans. Culturally, Brazil would seem to be much more European than Russian, Indian, and/or Chinese based upon what I have read.
It is not that the BRIC nations are not economically important, but for cultural and military reasons, I believe the Bible indicates more that the Asians will stay together (Asia in Prophecy), and that this would not include Brazil. I believe that Brazil, like possibly all of Latin America will ultimately align with Europe.
Europe has proposed various standards and trade deals with the USA, Canada, and Latin America.
In the spirit of accommodation and personal interest, many of the “standards” of the European Union will be adopted by the USA, Canada and Mexico, as well as by nearly all of the countries of the world. The Arab nations will most likely agree with many of the standards as they seem to be destined to form a brief end-time alliance with the Europeans (The Arab World In the Bible, History, and Prophecy).
I also believe that not only Mexico, but Central and eventually South America will get involved. It would seem that the Spanish-speaking Caribbean nations/territories would likely support Mexico/Spain, the French-speaking Caribbean nations/territories would likely support France, the Dutch-speaking Caribbean nations/territories would likely support the Netherlands, and the English-speaking Caribbean nations/territories would likely ultimately decide to somehow end up supporting the final European power (especially when the USA and Canada are no longer)--thus most, if not all of the Caribbean territories are likely to end up supporting the final Babylonian European power (cf. Revelation 17 & 18). Though some may resist at first.
Yet, Caribbean nations/territories, specifically Aruba, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Martinique, the Netherlands Antilles, and Saint Barthélemy may even try to get perhaps directly involved as well--especially since some of them are already still ruled by European powers or at least maintain cultural contacts. In 2010 they all, along with others, took some steps away from the USA and Canada as the following news items show:
Americas bloc excluding US and Canada agreed
Latin American and Caribbean nations have agreed to set up a new regional body without the US and Canada. The new bloc would be an alternative to the Organisation of American States (OAS), the main forum for regional affairs in the past 50 years. Mexico has been hosting a regional summit in the beach resort of Cancun. The OAS has been dogged by rifts between some members and the US over economic policy and trade, and criticised for promoting US interests. ‘Regional integration’ The proposed new grouping was one of the main issues on the agenda of the two-day summit, which ended on Tuesday. It “must as a priority push for regional integration… and promote the regional agenda in global meetings”, Mexican President Felipe Calderon told the summit, which includes leaders and representatives from 32 countries… The terms of the new bloc and whether it would replace the Rio Group of Latin American countries has not been clarified. “It’s very important that we don’t try to replace the OAS,” said Chile’s President-elect Sebastian Pinera. “The OAS is a permanent organisation that has its own functions.” On Monday, Bolivian President Evo Morales proposed that it begin operating in July 2011 with a summit hosted by Venezuela.
Falklands row The Cancun summit has also unanimously backed Argentina’s claim over the British-owned Falklands. (Americas bloc excluding US and Canada agreed. BBC - Feb 24, 2010 http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8531266.stm).
South America Moves Away from USA: In late November, representatives from a dozen South American nations gathered in Georgetown, Guyana, for a meeting of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR). The meeting focused on unity and working more closely together as neighboring nations. Leaders pledged to the spread of democracy in the region, as well as efforts to “…construct our economy through democratic institutions, making decisions to open our economies, reconstruct our social services, and promote common infrastructure.” Comments were made about the success of UNASUR and the lack of success of the U.S.-led Organization of American States (VenezuelanAnalysis.com, November 29, 2010). The U.S. has traditionally had a major impact on the political and economic environments of South America. However this influence is not only weakening, but is being shunned by many South American nations. Long ago, God warned the Israelites that He would “break the pride of your power” if they chose to ignore His commandments and statutes (Leviticus 26:14-19). Bible prophecies also warn of a time when Israelite-descended nations will “chase after” their former allies (lovers), only to be rejected by them (Jeremiah 3:1; 4:30; Hosea 2:5-7). We are watching these prophecies being fulfilled today! (South America Moves Away from USA. World Ahead Weekly Update. December 23, 2010).
Over time, it will become increasingly clear that the British will be in more agreement with the Canadians and Americans and that the European Union in more agreement with the Mexicans and other Latins than the EU will have with the English-speaking nations. As far as the Falkland Islands, please refer to the article Will the UK Lose Gibraltar and the Falkland Islands?
Trade wars and/or serious trade disputes will most likely arise between the Anglo and non-Anglo-nations.
The Brits will ultimately decide that they are more supportive of the Americans and Canadians. They will be so much more supportive that they will end up in a trading agreement with them (with the Australians and New Zealanders probably also becoming part of that agreement) (see also Anglo - America in Prophecy). Latin America has seemed to be much more offended at the United States than Europe in the past decade or so, and probably will tend to lean more toward the European view on certain trade matters.
The EU will likely decide that Mexico and the rest of Latin America are in more agreement with it and thus make some type of serious trading agreement with most (or all) of Latin America. The Vatican will also have influence here as Latin America is highly Roman Catholic.
The Europeans and Americans, however, will continue to have military agreements, though many will be tense about them.
Eventually, the Europeans (possibly under the cover of pretending that they are involved in a “NATO-like” exercise in North America) will eventually launch a surprise attack against the United States in fulfillment of both biblical and Catholic prophecies. The Mexicans will most likely be allied with the Europeans for this to happen. And lest people think that Mexico must be a staunch ally of the USA, it needs to be mentioned that the USA took a lot of land (including most or all of California, Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado) from Mexico essentially at gunpoint in the 19th century. Many in Mexico have called for a re-conquista, a reconquering, of the lands that Mexico once owned that the USA currently owns (see also Will the Anglo-Nations be Divided?).
Sound too far fetched? Notice an item of historical interest:
April 6, 2017
One hundred years ago today, the United States officially declared war on Germany and entered World War I. Days before the declaration of war, President Woodrow Wilson urged a special joint session of Congress to “formally accept the status of belligerent which has thus been thrust upon it.”
Wilson had not wanted to do this. Indeed, he’d won reelection the previous fall as the antiwar candidate, running on the popular slogans “He kept us out of war” and “America First”—appeals to voters who wanted to stay out of a major European war and avoid a simmering conflict with Mexico. But two events would change everything, and force Americans to accept that they could no longer avoid what had become a global conflict. The first was Germany’s resumption of unrestricted submarine warfare on passenger and merchant ships. The second was the “Zimmerman telegraph,” which revealed Germany’s attempt to forge a secret alliance with Mexico against the United States, promising to help Mexico recover territory it had ceded to the United States following the Mexican-American War in 1848.
Both of these developments, like much of World War I, seem exotic and unimaginable today. A major military power attacking passenger ships with submarines? Mexico invading Texas? It’s easy to think we’ll never face such scenarios again, and we probably won’t face those particular scenarios. But as distant and strange as the First World War seems to us today, the reasons Wilson changed course and declared war hold vital relevance to our national life in the twenty-first century, and we ignore or misunderstand those reasons to our peril. https://thefederalist.com/2017/04/06/americas-reasons-entering-wwi-resonate-today/
I do believe that Mexico will be willing to cooperate with a German-dominated power in Europe to invade the USA in the future. Do not think it cannot happen. Mexico is pivoting towards Europe, while the USA has been pivoting away from both.
What about more recently? Well, 8 years since I first started to post about Mexico possibly supporting the Europeans in an attack against the USA, one of its former presidents threatened war against the USA if Donald Trump became its president:
Mexican President Warns Of War If “Gringo” Trump Wins The White HouseMay 15, 2016“in his frankest interview yet, former Mexican President Vicente Fox:
“We’re coming back to the era of the ugly American. The gringo was hated all around the world, and this guy pretty soon he got the title. He is the ugly American, he is the hated gringo, because he’s attacking all of us, he’s offending all of us. Imagine, I mean that could take us to a war. Not to a trade war.“
The idea that Mexico could be involved in an actual attack on the USA is obviously not out-of-the-question.
Do not be surprised to see issues with Puerto Rico as one day it will try to unite more with Latin America than the USA.
While Belize may side with the English-speaking members, since Spanish is widely spoken there and for other cultural reasons, it probably will end up on the side of Mexico and Europe. If it does not, then I would think that the fate of the Anglo-American nations (destruction) may await it. The rest of Latin America, I believe will likely side with the Europeans.
This will lead to the prophesied destruction of the USA and its Anglo-Allies (please see Anglo - America in Prophecy).
Donald Trump has made some comments that concern Latin America.
The Wall Street Journal reported the following:
Donald Trump’s Line on Cuba Unsettles Latin America
U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s threats to reverse the Obama administration’s historic re-engagement with Cuba could drive a new wedge between Washington and Latin America, a region already suspicious of the next American leader over his rhetoric on immigration and trade.
Mr. Trump on Monday said he would roll back the U.S.’s improved relations with Cuba forged by President Barack Obama unless Cuba’s Communist government offers “a better deal,” following statements from his aides that he wants to pressure Havana for more democratic reform.
If Cuba is unwilling to make a better deal for the Cuban people, the Cuban/American people and the U.S. as a whole, I will terminate deal,” Mr. Trump wrote in a message on Twitter.
Any undoing of the detente between Washington and Havana would be viewed as a big step back in the region, not only by leftist allies of Cuba like Venezuela and Bolivia but also by conservative governments in Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Colombia. It would also likely complicate regional cooperation on a range of issues, from immigration to security and anti-drug efforts.
“It would be a grave error by Mr. Trump,” said former Ecuadorean Foreign Relations Minister Jose Ayala-Lasso. “It wouldn’t only be a measure that would affect relations between Cuba and the United States, but I think all of Latin America that promoted a normalization of these relations would feel rejected and offended.” …
Mr. Trump has already caused deep unease in Latin America. A cornerstone of his campaign was a pledge to build a border wall with Mexico and force it to pay—rhetoric many in the region saw as humiliating. Officials in Mexico and Central Americans countries have also expressed worries that potential deportations of illegal immigrants would strain local economies.
Mr. Trump has also pledged to revisit the North American Free Trade Agreement, which ties together Mexico, Canada and the U.S., and withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement, which involves Mexico, Peru and Chile. Already, Peru and Chile have started to look to China for further trade deals.
“It looks like Latin America is turning into a favorite punching bag for Trump’s tweets, and here we can include Mexicans, the wall, and now Cuba,” said Matthew Taylor, a Latin America expert at American University in Washington. 11/28/16 http://www.wsj.com/articles/donald-trumps-line-on-cuba-unsettles-latin-america-1480372939
It is not just Latin America that is concerned about Donald Trump, Europe is too. So much so, that the European Parliament voted to increase its military spending (see Europe moving towards its own army ‘Europe may soon produce its own Trumps’), apparently in an effort to distance itself from the USA, at least partially because of Donald Trump. The German press even reported the following view:
Now, though, we must come to terms with a lack of Western leadership. … America was long the benchmark for the West. But if Trump governs as he promised he would during the campaign, the land of the free will abdicate its role as leader of the free world. Then, it will be Europe’s turn. (see ‘America Has Abdicated Its Leadership of the West’).
Well, the “free world” of “the West” includes Latin America. Europe wants to lead the world, including Latin America.
Latin American has long had ties to Europe and will one day cooperate more with the coming Beast power that will again arise there (cf. Revelation 13:1-10).
Let us also not forget that the current Bishop of Rome, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, now known as Pope Francis (see also Argentinian is now Pope Francis), was born in Argentina and lives in Vatican City, which is part of Europe.
Another reason (beyond those in the video 13 Ways President-Elect Trump is Apocalyptic) that Donald Trump appears to be apocalyptic is that he is driving Latin America further away from the USA, and in my view, closer to Europe.
It looks like his approach will help drive Europe and Latin America closer together. And that is consistent with various biblical prophecies (e.g. Ezekiel 27:12-24; Revelation 13:1-10).
Because of what happens, it would seem that the English-speaking Caribbean nations also, eventually if not sooner, will support the successful European Beast power. Their economies will be devastated by lack of tourists from the USA, Canada, and the UK, and hence will likely conclude that their economic survival will require at least somewhat supporting the Beast.
Mexico is not happy with the Trump Administration’s immigration plans:
February 22, 2017
MEXICO CITY — Mexico will vigorously fight U.S. mass deportations of undocumented immigrants back to Mexico and refuse to accept any non-Mexicans expelled across the border, Mexican Foreign Minister Luis Videgaray vowed Wednesday.
A day after the Trump administration unveiled tough new guidelines for enforcing immigration laws, Videgaray said the treatment of Mexican migrants in the United States would top his country’s agenda when President Enrique Peña Nieto meets Thursday with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly.
“I want to leave clear, in the most emphatic way, that the government of Mexico and the Mexican people do not have to accept measures that, in a unilateral way, one government wants to impose on another,” Videgary said.
He added that Mexico would go to the United Nations to defend the rights of its migrants. “We are not going to accept it because we don’t have to accept it and because it is not in the interests of Mexico,” he said. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2017/02/22/foriegn-minister-mexico-immigrations-proposals/98252710/
February 22, 2017
Luis Videgaray, the Mexican foreign minister, said on Wednesday that his government “will not accept” the US’s new, “unilateral” immigration proposals.
The statement came hours before Videgaray was scheduled to meet with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and US Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly. Videgaray said the new proposals would be the main point of discussion during their meetings on Wednesday and Thursday.
Tillerson and Kelly are in Mexico to meet with high-level Mexican officials, including President Enrique Peña Nieto.
Videgaray also said the Mexican government wouldn’t hesitate to go to the UN “to defend the rights of immigrants,” Reuters reported.
The Trump administration has sparred with the Mexican government over immigration since the US president took office in late January. http://www.businessinsider.com/mexico-not-accept-new-trump-immigration-plans-could-retaliate-2017-2
While Donald Trump seems to feel that since the USA is Mexico’s largest export market, he can do as he wants (presuming US court approvals), the leaders in Mexico have a different view.
Donald Trump does not seem to appreciate or understand the biblical prophecies related to the USA. Therefore, it is likely that he will continue to take steps that will upset various global leaders not realizing how this will turn out.
Donald Trump’s immigration and trade statements have concerned many in Mexico, as well as in Europe.
Consider also something that I warned about in 2008:
In the spirit of accommodation and personal interest, many of the “standards” of the European Union will be adopted by the USA, Canada and Mexico, as well as by nearly all of the countries of the world. The Arab nations will most likely agree with many of the standards as they seem to be destined to form a brief end-time alliance with the Europeans (The Arab World In the Bible, History, and Prophecy).
However, over time, it will become increasingly clear that the British will be in more agreement with the Canadians and Americans and that the European Union in more agreement with the Mexicans than the EU will have with the English-speaking nations.
Trade wars and/or serious trade disputes will most likely arise.
The Brits will ultimately decide that they are more supportive of the Americans and Canadians. They will be so much more supportive that they will end up in a trading agreement with them (with the Australians and New Zealanders probably also becoming part of that agreement).
The EU will decide that Mexico and the rest of Latin America are in more agreement with it and thus make some type of serious trading agreement with most (or all) of Latin America.
(Thiel B. A Combined EU & North American Trade Block Coming? COGwriter.com, March 3, 2008)
Notice also the following news report:
February 1, 2017
The European Union and Mexico have set two new rounds of trade talks in the first half of 2017, an acceleration of negotiations to deepen economic ties in the wake of Donald Trump’s inauguration as U.S. president.
The European Commission said on Wednesday that EU Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom and Mexican Economy Minister Ildefonso Guajardo had scheduled subsequent rounds for April 3-7 and June 26-29.
“Together, we are witnessing the worrying rise of protectionism around the world. Side by side, as like-minded partners, we must now stand up for the idea of global, open cooperation,” the two said in a joint statement.
European leaders have said Brussels should take advantage of a more protectionist U.S. leader, who has already withdrawn from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal, to step up negotiations with would-be partners.
Mexico faces the prospect of a renegotiated North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and possibly higher U.S. import duties. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2017/02/01/european-union-and-mexico-expedite-trade-talks-to-update-existing-pact.html
Mexico has been talking with the European Union:
April 10, 2017
The third round of trade negotiations between the European Commission and Mexico ended in Brussels on Friday, and the EU says it is hopeful a new free-trade agreement (FTA) can be concluded before the end of the year. http://interfaxenergy.com/gasdaily/article/25427/eu-ups-pressure-on-mexico-for-energy-liberalisation
Part of this has been driven by statements made over the past year or so by now US President Donald Trump. While Donald Trump seems to feel that since the USA is Mexico’s largest export market, he can do as he wants (presuming US court approvals), the leaders in Mexico have a different view. Notice something from last week:
April 3, 2017
Mexico is about to take another step to pivot its economy away from the U.S. and President Trump.
Mexican officials kick off talks with their counterparts in the European Union on Monday to update their own free trade agreement initially signed in 2000. Talks between the two sides have taken on a sense of urgency and are on an accelerated schedule now — the first time Mexico and EU held these talks was in 2013.
Both sides had expressed a desire for a new agreement for years, but only announced “accelerated” trade talks shortly after Trump took office.
“It’s a shared desire to proceed as quickly as possible with this negotiation,” Andrew Standley, the European Union’s ambassador to Mexico, told CNNMoney in February in Mexico City.
That’s not all. Mexican officials head to Argentina later this week for the World Economic Forum’s Latin America summit where they will likely reiterate their interest in buying more goods — particularly corn and soy — from Brazil and Argentina instead of the United States. …
Mexico is not feeling so welcome in North America. Trump has threatened to use tariffs against Mexican imports and to withdraw from NAFTA, …
Mexico is one of the biggest buyers of American corn and soy. Corn is a staple food to the Mexican diet, found in everywhere from taco stands to fine dining restaurants.
It’s a fortuitous time for Mexico to look south and east. Argentina and Brazil, two of the world’s most closed economies to trade, have leaders trying to shed protectionist policies for free trade.
Europe is also eager to find more willing trade partners after talks on an ambitious trade deal with the U.S. — the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) — stalled well before Trump won office. http://money.cnn.com/2017/04/03/news/economy/mexico-pivots-eu-trade-talks/

Talks are underway between the European Union and Mexico as part of a plan to reach a new free trade agreement. The two sides have agreed to accelerate negotiations in response to Donald Trump’s vow to pursue a protectionist agenda. http://www.dw.com/en/mexico-and-eu-to-negotiate-new-trade-deal/av-38266063
This is consistent with properly understood biblical prophecies. Europe will become the world’s leading economic power, and places like Mexico will benefit (cf. Revelation 18).
Europe is trying to move to fill in areas where Donald Trump has indicated he wants to change trade terms. This is giving Europe an opportunities that it would not otherwise have. (We have a BNP video related to Europe and trade: Trade Wars: Are COG warnings coming to pass?)
Mexico seems to hope that it can trade more with Europe.
Expect more issues to arise.
Various ones in Mexico have long considered that the USA is an enemy nation.
Many in Mexico believe that the USA improperly took lands ranging from Texas to California and points in-between. They believe that they are entitled to receive that land back. The Bible teaches that the European King of the North power will takeover the USA and divide its land for gain (Daniel 11:39)–Mexico will likely end up with at least some of its claimed lands back this century.
While in the short-run, the USA can take steps to seriously harm Mexico, it should be clear to all that the USA is seriously risking turning Mexico from an ally into an enemy.
While the world generally considers that Mexico and the rest of the Latin American nations are "developing", the fact is that they have truly been developed. Many are not only becoming economic powerhouses, they have been able to do this without the massive debt accumulations that many other nations have (like the U.S.A.). And while not all of Latin America is poised for major economic activity on the world scene, once major players such as Mexico, Argentina, Brazil (Portuguese: Brasil), and Chile develop a bit more, they will have an impact not only on the entire world, but also on the other Central and South American countries that they also trade with.
With the U.S.A. and its Anglo-Allies basically out of the picture, the future power Europe will make Europe an economically attractive trading partner (and because of its military abilities in the future, it is likely to be an attractive military partner to those in Latin America.)
Notice that the Bible says that all trading nations will have become wealthy trading with Babylon (the restored European Empire):
3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury (Revelation 18:3).
Thus, the resource (Mexico and Venezuela are major oil exporters), and even agriculturally (Chile and Argentina are leading exporters of agricultural products), rich Latin American countries, including Brazil (which is also one of the world's most successful rising manufacturing nations), appears to be prophesied to attain wealth from the coming restored European Empire. Tourism will also benefit the nations in Latin America as Europeans start to visit there more when the USA and its Anglo-Allies will no longer be quite the destinations that they once were.
Notice also the following:
The 18th chapter of the book of Revelation depicts an end-of-the-age worldwide European economic system, exercising the same force over the modern world that ancient Babylon did 2,500 years ago over the ancient world. It will be an economic order encompassing much of the political world. It will reach its zenith after the decline and fall of the English-speaking powers. The key raw materials and industrialized products of Latin America will of necessity be drawn into such an alignment. Verses 11 through 13 of Revelation 18 even mention some of the exportable wealth of the Latin American world — silver, wood, iron, wheat, cattle and sheep. Watch Latin America — and Europe! (Hogberg G. NEW POWER BLOC IN SOUTH AMERICA? Plain Truth, December 1980)
And as mentioned before Ezekiel 27:24 tells of embroidered garments and chests of multicolored apparel being traded.
Furthermore, many understand that the birth rates in Europe are simply not enough to sustain a replacement population. Since birth rates are higher in most Latin American nations than they are in most European nations, there may be vastly increased immigration from Latin America to Europe in the future. This also would be expected to increase the economic wealth of those now living in Latin America.
The Bible shows that when people in Latin America and elsewhere see the Beast power (Europa, the Beast, and Revelation) they will marvel:
The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is (Revelation 17:8).
They will marvel because of the great wealth, because they did not think Europe would gain such prominence, and because its leadership will have performed various signs and wonders.
It needs to be noted that the Church of Rome is no longer true as it long ago changed from the original Christian faith (for details, please see Which Is Faithful: The Roman Catholic Church or the Continuing Church of God?). Furthermore, at the time of the end, even Catholic writers have warned that one that they call an "antipope" will lead a changed church calling itself "Catholic" that will be an ecumenical world religion that many all over the world will follow, but should not follow (see also Catholic Prophecies: Do They Mirror, Highlight, or Contradict Biblical Prophecies?). They have warned that many will be deceived then.
The Bible agrees as it teaches the following:
Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved (2 Thessalonians 2:3-10).
Because of these actions, people throughout the world, including Latin America will (to some degree) worship a false leader, and probably enter into some type of military agreement to keep themselves safe from the Asian powers:
Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?" And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:1-9).
But this will not last. And when you see these things coming to pass, while your nation may be deceived, you do not have to be.
God will provide another witness to the entire world at that time:
A nd I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth." 4 These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the God of the earth... 7 Now when they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them. 8 And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations will see their dead bodies three-and-a-half days, and not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves (Revelation 11:3-4,7-9).
And although the above seems a little bleak, understand that people from many nations will have noticed the two witnesses.
Furthermore, many will understand the message of those witnesses and many will be called of God then:
I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!" (Revelation 7:9-10).
Those of Latin America will certainly be among those of "all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues" who will have responded. And more will respond after they are resurrected from the dead. Hence when you see the two witnesses rise up performing miracles and preaching against the future European Beast power, you should resist. More on the two witnesses can be found in the article Who Are The Two Witnesses?
Perhaps I should also add here that some of the Mayans seem to believe that in the time of a false Archbishop (possibly a refernce to the final Antichrist) that those who consider themselves faithful in Central America (and probably South America) should hide in the forest (this would be those who were not with the main faithful portion of the church which would have gone to the area of rocky caves):
There is no reason or necessity for you to submit to the Archbishop. When he comes, you go and hide yourselves in the forest. If you surrender yourselves, you shall follow Christ, when he shall come (José Hoíl J, Roys R. The Book of Chilam Balam of Chumayel , p. 77).
For more on Mayan predictions, please see the article End of Mayan Calendar 2012--Might 2012 Mean Something? For more on protection during the Great Tribulation, please see the article There is a Place of Safety for the Philadelphians. Why it May Be Petra.
Since the Latin nations seem to be prophecied to be involved with Babylon, what about you?
Does this mean that you are doomed?
No. God does not require "group salvation". The Apostle Paul wrote:
...work out your own salvation with fear and trembling... (Philippians 2:12)
Thus, your personal relationship with God is not determined by what your fellow countrymen do.
Can, will, God help you during the coming tribulation?
Notice the prophecy for this latter time tribulation in the Hebrew scriptures:
29 But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul. 30 When you are in distress, and all these things come upon you in the latter days, when you turn to the Lord your God and obey His voice 31 (for the Lord your God is a merciful God), He will not forsake you nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them. (Deuteronomy 4:29-31)
Thus, help from God during these hard times will be available to the truly sincere who really strive for it.
Jesus warned about a future time of a great tribulation:
21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened (Matthew 24:21-22).
Since this great tribulation affects the whole world, it will affect those in Latin America as well.
It should be pointed out that in Revelation 16, which includes events of the Day of the Lord, also states the following:
Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory (Revelation 16:8-9).
Why is great heat of importance to those living in Latin America?
Well, among other reasons, there is about enough water still in glaciers and the polar ice caps to raise the level of the oceans about 200-300 feet if they completely melted. And any plague that strikes the earth with scorching heat is going to accelerate the melting of these frozen bodies of water.
Additionally, the tsunami of December 26, 2004, triggered by an earthquake (9.-1 to 9.3 on the Richter scale), killed about 200,000 people in islands and coastal regions (Wikipedia).
Thus the idea that the Latin American peoples in coastal regions are even NOW vulnerable to earthquakes and ice melting IS NOT some far-fetched view. Perhaps it should be mentioned that in the Mayan 2012 prophecies (the Mayans came from Central America) which do have some far fetched views, some portion of the world is shown to be overwhelmed by a flood of some type (to see the relevant portion of the Mayan Dresden Codex and to learn more on those prophecies, please see End of Mayan Calendar 2012--Might 2012 Mean Something?)
However, notice what Jesus said:
And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven... And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of heaven will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory (Luke 21:11, 25-27).
Essentially, the Bible shows that the earth will be scorched with heat, there will the greatest earthquake of all time that will level mountains, and that heavenly bodies will fall to the earth as well as apparently into the sea. And this will be followed by the sea and the waves roaring. And if most of the frozen waters have melted by then, the height of these roaring waves apparently will be enough to destroy most who live on islands and impact coastal regions. Those living in coastal regions, such as Argentina, Belize, Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, French Guiana, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, and Venezuela are most likely to be affected.
According to the Bible, these prophesies are certain to come to pass (Revelation 22:6). And with its many miles of coastline, Latin America, including the Caribbean nations/territories, will be affected.
An article of related interest may be Islands and Bible Prophecy.
Although there are specific prophecies that will affect coastal regions, all in the world will be affected by prophesied events.
In Revelation 16, we see that God will issue punishment to nearly all of humanity after Babylon (the European Empire) falls:
17 Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, "It is done!" 18 And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth. 19 Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath. 20 Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. 21 And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great (Revelation 16:17-21).
God sent the punishments to get all men, including those in Latin America, to repent, but the Bible shows that they will refuse at first:
And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory (Revelation 16:9).
After all these battles and punishments, the tribulation of the Day of the Lord will start coming to an end. And Christ will return:
Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory (Matthew 24:29-30).
And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS (Revelation 19:16).
This will usher in a kingdom that will be established for 1,000 years:
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years (Revelation 20:4-6).
And people of many nations, including those in Latin America, will be part of this kingdom. Notice:
After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb (Revelation 7:9).
After the thousand years are over, there will be problems, and then all will be resurrected:
7 Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. 9 They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. 10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. 11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works (Revelation 20:7-13).
It is important to note that all remaining are judged at the second resurrection, but not all are condemned. However, prior to the second resurrection, apparently a Russian-led confederation will rebel and attempt to attack God's people (apparently in Jerusalem)--but they will not be successful. They will be destroyed, but will be raised in the second resurrection.
The mainstream "Christian" view correctly teaches that there is salvation in no other than Jesus (Acts 4:10-12), as "there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (vs.12).
But what happens to the multitudes in Latin America who have not even heard the truth about Christ? What happens to those who do not respond to Deuteronomy 4:29-31, the two witnesses, etc.? And what happens to those born before Christ's earthly ministry? Recall that the Bible teaches that after Adam sinned, humankind was blocked from the tree of life as God had it guarded so that humans would not be able to access it on their own (Genesis 3:22-24).
Even the basic Protestant and Catholic view is that unless one professes belief in Jesus prior to the first death, then salvation will be unavailable. It is perhaps because of the difference between this view and that of the Church of God, that Protestants and Catholics tend to label Church of God groups as cults.
The genuine Church of God teaches that God is only calling a relatively few during this age with the Day of Pentecost (also called the Day of Firstfruits, Numbers 28:26) partially explaining this. "Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures" (James 1:18).
Jesus and the real Church of God teach, "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him" (John 6:44). And that will be few at this time, "For many are called, but few are chosen" (Matthew 22:14), "Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it" (Matthew 7:14).
Protestants and Catholics tend to feel, correctly, that God uses ministers to preach (Romans 10:14). Yet, the message is not always clear. In Isaiah 6:9-11 God teaches,
"Go, and tell this people: 'Keep on hearing, but do not understand; Keep on seeing, but do not perceive.' Make the heart of this people dull, And their ears heavy, And shut their eyes; Lest they see with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, And return and be healed." Then I said, "Lord, how long?" And He answered: "Until the cities are laid waste and without inhabitant, The houses are without a man, The land is utterly desolate".
In other words, the bulk of the people are not to understand until after a time of great desolation.
Furthermore, the Bible reveals that God has prohibited idolaters to have proper understanding:
And the rest of it he makes into a god, His carved image. He falls down before it and worships it, Prays to it and says, "Deliver me, for you are my god!" They do not know nor understand; For He has shut their eyes, so that they cannot see, And their hearts, so that they cannot understand (Isaiah 44:17-18).
They have no knowledge, Who carry the wood of their carved image, And pray to a god that cannot save (Isaiah 45:20).
Thus, is God going to condemn those who worship idols for what He has not let them understand?
Protestant and Catholic theology tends to say yes.
Those in the Church of God say no. The true God, the God that we in the genuine Church of God know, is a God of love (this is clearly taught in the Bible by one of Jesus' original disciples, the Apostle John in 1 John 4:8,16). Since God is truly a God of love, He does love the peoples of Latin America and does have a plan to offer them abundance and eternal life forever in the kingdom of God.
Therefore, unless the idolater has committed the unpardonable sin (which is unlikely) they will be judged as other uncalled people are.
Hence, the billions throughout history in Asia, Latin America, and Africa (and elsewhere) are not condemned to suffer forever for following practices they really do not understand.
Those who were uncalled in this age (including most people and nearly all of the Latin Americans, including those that have long been dead) will be offered an opportunity for salvation.
And nearly all of them will accept it. The Church of God teaches that God will ultimately give every individual an opportunity for salvation--and that nearly every individual will accept that opportunity.
This means that ultimately that nearly all Latin Americans will be in the permanent kingdom of God. Notice some of the descriptions from the Book of Revelation:
Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." (Revelation 21:2-4).
Based upon Ezekiel 27:12-23 and other scriptures (cf. Revelation 13:1-10), it appears that Latin America will align with Europe some day.
In the 21st century, the wealth in Latin America is prophesied to increase. The Latin Americans will most likely be among the first to benefit from the coming European Empire.
Just because the whole world (and not just those of Latin Americas) will be temporarily deceived by the rising European Beast power, you do not have to be. Hopefully this article has given you some reasons to look at the world and your life and will motivate to come to God now on His terms. To learn more about what happened to Christianity, a good place to start may be The History of Early Christianity page. May God call you today and grant you the understanding so that you will "pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man" (Luke 21:36).
Yet, because most in Latin America do not truly stive now to know the true God, God will punish the Latin Americans as well as the other inhabitants on the Earth to humble them so that they will accept Him. And apparently many will also rebel at the close of the millennium, but will not succeed.
And afterwards, God intends to resurrect all of the Latin Americans and offer them salvation. A salvation that nearly all will accept as nearly all the Latin Americans who ever lived will be in the kingdom of God.
Thus the plan that God has for the Latin Americans and other peoples differs from that commonly taught by the majority of those who call themselves Christian. While in their mind, God will condemn the Latin Americans and others to suffering and torment forever, they err not truly knowing the scriptures or the power of God--because God is truly a God of love as salvation will ultimately be offered to all from Latin America and elsewhere.
God's kingdom will be a place without fear or death or sorrow. It will be a glorious kingdom. And to be part of that is what is the prophesied future for nearly all Latin Americans.
