The United Kingdom’s former Prime Minister is trying to stop the UK from leaving the European Union:

Tony Blair calls for people to ‘rise up’ against Brexit

Tony Blair has said it is his “mission” to persuade Britons to “rise up” and change their minds on Brexit.

Speaking in the City of London, the former prime minister claimed that people voted in the referendum “without knowledge of the true terms of Brexit”.

He urged “a way out from the present rush over the cliff’s edge”. …

Mr Blair, who was UK prime minister between 1997 and 2007, used the speech to the pro-European campaign group Open Britain to argue that leaving the EU would be “painful” for Britain and Europe and the benefits would be “largely illusory”. …

Supporters of leaving the EU argue it will free up the UK to trade better globally and give the government better control of immigration.

Earlier this month, MPs overwhelmingly agreed, by 494 votes to 122, to let the government begin the UK’s departure from the EU by voting for the Brexit bill. http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-38996179

Since the Brexit vote, the European Union has publicly pushed the idea of a “European army,” which the UK has historically been opposed to, as well as increased European integration, which the UK has historically been opposed to, plus it has been distancing itself from the USA, which is and has been the opposite position of the UK.

Add to this, the election of Donald Trump as USA President–and a person who backed the leave side of Brexit and has stated he wants to make a major trade deal with the UK–you then see more reasons why those in the UK would support Brexit.

As far as Tony Blair goes, I have written for years that he supports Europe and that one day he could be apocalyptic. Notice something posted here on July 17, 2009:

While the reader probably has concerns about Tony Blair supporting the rise of a worldwide ecumenical religion that will likely call itself “Catholic”, I should add that I tend to doubt that Tony Blair can become the future King of the North, 666, the Beast of Revelation 13 as he is has represented the tribe of Ephraim (see Anglo – America in Prophecy & the Lost Tribes of Israel).

Yet, because of his EU ties, I have long suspected that if Tony Blair survives part of the Great Tribulation, he might partially fulfill the following verses in the Bible in trying to get help from the Assyrians (modern Germany with its allies) after they have destroyed the U.S.A. and its Anglo-Allies:

1 “Ephraim also is like a silly dove, without sense–They call to Egypt, They go to Assyria. 12 Wherever they go, I will spread My net on them; I will bring them down like birds of the air;
I will chastise them According to what their congregation has heard (Hosea 7:11-12).

8 Israel is swallowed up; Now they are among the Gentiles
Like a vessel in which is no pleasure. 9 For they have gone up to Assyria, Like a wild donkey alone by itself; Ephraim has hired lovers (Hosea 8:8-9).

1 Ephraim feeds on the wind, And pursues the east wind; He daily increases lies and desolation. Also they make a covenant with the Assyrians, And oil is carried to Egypt (Hosea 12:1).

It would seem that perhaps Tony Blair would try to use his contacts at the European power in order to try to improve the lot of the British at that time since he currently has many contacts within the EU.

Since I tend to believe that these verses in Hosea will be fulfilled after the start of the Great Tribulation and before the return of Jesus Christ and the establishment of the Kingdom of God, if Tony Blair is involved in the above fulfillment, in that specific way he might personally also be Apocalyptic. The fact that Tony Blair converted to Roman Catholicism back in 2007, plus the fact that he is again publicly opposing Brexit and working to defeat it would give him a certain credibility, at least in his own mind, to try to deal with the Europeans in the future. We will see.

Now, those in the EU themselves have basically already written the UK off. The EU has treated the UK differently since the Brexit vote and basically wants the UK to conform to its exit rules and now leave.

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker has warned the UK it cannot negotiate bilateral trade deals in the period before it leaves the EU. London, meanwhile, is eyeing up China with talk of a ‘golden era.’

“Trade deals are the remit of the EU… Britain cannot complete trade deals with half the world – although it is doing the opposite,” Juncker said on Thursday, adding that he believes it will take longer than two years to agree on all the arrangements for the UK to leave the EU.

“I do not think … we will succeed within 24 months to clear up the arrangements for Britain’s exit from the EU and to (forge) the whole relationship between Britain and the European continent,” he said in a speech at the international Munich Security Conference.

British Prime Minister Theresa May (above R) has said she will trigger Article 50 of the EU’s Lisbon Treaty in March and launch divorce talks, which could last up to two years. …

China is one of the countries the UK hopes to sign a free trade agreement with after it leaves the EU. The UK is working to improve trade with various nations, including the USA. It is not going to wait for over two years from next month to start.

The EU does not like this, and this will be one more thing it will remember when it decides to destroy the UK (cf. Daniel 8:24-25).

Tony Blair will not be able to prevent that.
