Canada invokes emergency powers, considers truck protesters terrorists: A prelude to 666?

For some time, I have been concerned about how governments around the world have broadened the definition of the word terrorist as well as the fact that people who disagree with certain policies are more and more being labeled as extremists.

In Canada, steps to do so against the trucking protesters have been consistent with those concerns. Notice the following:

Canada’s Trudeau invokes emergency powers in bid to end protests

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Monday activated rarely used emergency powers in an effort to end protests that have shut some U.S. border crossings and paralyzed parts of the capital.

Under the Emergencies Act, the government introduced measures intended to cut off protesters’ funding and took steps to reinforce provincial and local law enforcement with federal police.

“The blockades are harming our economy and endangering public safety,” Trudeau told a news conference. “We cannot and will not allow illegal and dangerous activities to continue.”

But the Canadian Civil Liberties Association said the government had not met the standard for invoking the Emergencies Act, which is intended to deal with threats to “sovereignty, security and territorial integrity,” the group said. …

CUTTING OFF FUNDS

Carlson added that what’s happening in Canada right now does not qualify as an emergency, as he showed footage of protesters dancing and singing in the streets in Ottawa.

‘According to Justin Trudeau, everyone you saw in that tape is a terrorist — even the kids in their bouncy castles,’ Carlson said.

‘Justin Trudeau revoked their civil liberties and authorized men with weapons to haul them to jail.’

‘So again, all of these people can now be arrested on sight simply because of where they’re standing,’ Carlson said Monday. But ‘being arrested is the least of their problem,’ he said. ‘An arrest suggests bail, you can get out of jail. You can’t get out of the country, Justin Trudeau has just made.

He explained that under martial law, ‘Trudeau has the power to force banks to seize their bank accounts, and insurance companies to cancel their insurance.’

That means they can’t actually live in Canada,’ he said. ‘They are nonperson. They are enemies of the state — and they will be crushed.’ …

Ottawa’s … Mayor Jim Watson said: ‘The convoy leaders have started to act on their commitment to move several tricks from the residential district … this is a complex multi-day operation.’

Meanwhile, hackers knocked the fundraising site GiveSendGo offline in an attack targeting a campaign that raised at least $8.6 million to support the Freedom Convoy demonstrations.

JEANINE PIRRO, CO-HOST WITH “THE FIVE”: … Look, these are Canadians who are protesting. Canada is a country that is not accustomed to this kind of protesting. And for this thing to proliferate the way it has, it’s been two weeks I guess and now they’ve got a march that they call it the Jericho march around parliament, more and more people are coming. They’re not just truckers. They’re the Canadians who agree with them who simply want their freedom back.

Ninety percent of those Canadians or those truckers are already vaxxed, so it’s not even about that. It’s about government overreach into the private lives of Canadians who rarely do this kind of thing.

And for Joe Biden to call Trudeau and try to gin him up and say you know bring some federal laws against them, when he is allowing — you want to talk about economic impact — he is allowing 2.4 million illegals to come through our southern border, we give them education, medication, housing and we fly them all over the country, and he’s worried about the economic impact? This is shameful.

The protest was originally called for by a group calling itself Freedom Convoy 2022.

Freedom Convoy 2022 also set up a GoFundMe page, which receive millions in donations. Then, what would be called the weaponization of money has been used against the group as the Ottawa police persuaded GoFundMe to not give the group most of the money it raised (see Canadian truckers and the political weaponization of money: a prelude to 666?).

Freedom Convoy 2022 then switched to other fund raising platforms. But then the federal government in Canada got involved. Now, as its Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland said, it is asserted that giving the truckers money they raised is funding terrorists.

From the reports I have seen from those for and against the truckers’ protests, the group is not a bunch of terrorists. They are protesters. But they have protested too long as far as the federal government of Canada is concerned, so now the group is considered to be insurrectionists and/or terrorists.

The group has also taken steps to try to show others that they are not terrorists nor violent insurrectionists:

Organizers of the Freedom Convoy in the Canadian capital say they have notified police after being told that “nefarious elements” are planning to plant weapons at the Ottawa COVID-19 mandate demonstrations as a “pretext to forcibly remove peaceful protestors.”

In a video posted to Facebook late on Feb. 14, organizers said they had received information from sources they consider to be “reliable” that the weapons may be planted. …

“Today on Feb. 14, we received information from multiple believed, reliable sources that firearms may be planted in Ottawa specifically around the Freedom Convey to discredit the protest and to use as a pretext to forcibly remove peaceful protestors,” organizers of the Freedom Convoy said in the Facebook video.

“Due to the nature of this information, we felt it prudent to notify the public in the interest of their safety. This private intelligence correlates with the approximately 2,000 firearms stolen in Peterborough Ontario on Sunday morning, February 13.

“Our sources have notified us that these weapons may be planted by nefarious elements and at this point, we have no further knowledge about who is behind this act of sabotage,” organizers continued.

“As soon as we received this information, we notified the appropriate authorities with whom we are collaborating, including the Ottawa Police Service, the Ontario Provincial Police, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Parliamentary Protective Service.”

The Epoch Times has reached out to law enforcement for comment.

Today, I went to the official website of Freedom Convoy 2022 and saw the following:

Now, I am not here to encourage protests. I do not agree with disturbing the peace tactics various protesters have used, nor financial or certain other tactics of governments against protesters. Nor do I agree with many governmental restrictions related to COVID. Nor do I believe that the truckers’ protests are bringing unity to Canada–they are highlighting division.

The purpose of this post is to point out that governments (and others) are redefining words and misidentifying critics with terms that they should not use in order to justify tactics they should not be using.

I see this as a prelude to the prophesied ‘famine of the word’ (Amos 8:11-12) as more name-calling and censorship will be used by governments (see also Preparing for the ‘Short Work’ and The Famine of the Word).

I also see government statements and actions against the truckers as a prelude to what is prophesied to happen in Europe after the Beast of Revelation 13 rises up.

Here are some scriptures related to the 666 prophecy:

15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. (Revelation 13:15-18)

The time is coming when not only are finances to be highly restricted, but people will be pressured under the penalty of death to worship a government leader.

Those who refuse to do so will be considered as enemies of the state, extremists, and probably terrorists.

We are getting much closer to this time.

The world needs Jesus, national repentance, and the coming Kingdom of God.
