CG7’s Islamic Misunderstanding

“Orthodox” 16th Century Representation of the “Apocalypse”

COGwriter

In the latest issue of its The Bible Advocate, CG7-Denver reported the following as part of the result of a survey it did:

We have a mostly negative view of the Islamic faith, tending to believe that Mohammed is the false prophet of Revelation 16.  (Islam and 9/11 Survey Results. The Bible Advocate, January-February 2012 2012, p. 21)

Mohammed is NOT the false prophet of Revelation 16.  The identity of the False Prophet discussed in the Apocalypse has not been fully revealed yet.  Those who believe that the Antichrist was or will be Islamic are in error.

CG7 is having less and less understanding of the Book of Revelation.  Many in CG7 are unsure if there will be a Great Tribulation (CG7 Does Not Know If There Will Be a ‘Great Tribulation’), incorrectly teach that there is nothing to fear from the Beast of Revelation (CG7′s Change of Beast Position), and incorrectly teach that biblically-warned of the “mark of the Beast” is past (CG7 Claims 200,000 and Teaches the Mark of the Beast is Past), etc.

The Bible itself warned that the Sardis Church would lose much of what it had:

1″And to the angel of the church in Sardis write,

‘These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: “I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. 2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God. 3 Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you. 4 You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy. (Revelation 3:1-4)

CG7-Denver keeps losing more and more of the truths it once had. And while it can be argued that CG7’s position on the Great Tribulation has always been hard to pin down, I would simply like to state that A.N. Dugger (former, and major, CG7 leader of the 20th century) clearly believed that most of the events in the Book of Revelation were for the future and that the current CG7 teaches that many of those same events were for the past (this is documented in the article Church of God, Seventh Day: History and Teachings).

Mohammed, while obviously not part of the Church of God, was not the one that Jesus inspired the Apostle John to warn about as the False Prophet of Revelation 16 (though some primarily Islamic ethnic groups are prophesied to cause problems per Psalm 83:3-8).

Some Doctrines of Antichrist Are there any doctrines taught outside the Churches of God which can be considered as doctrines of antichrist? This article suggests at least three. It also provides information on 666 and the identity of “the false prophet”. Plus it shows that several Catholic writers seem to warn about an ecumenical antipope that will support heresy.

The Arab and Islamic World In the Bible, History, and Prophecy The Bible discusses the origins of the Arab world and discusses the Middle East in prophecy. End of Mayan Calendar 2012–Might 2012 Mean Something? Are there Mayan calendar predictions for change in 2012? Changes were centuries ago predicted by the Hopi Native Americans. 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect This is a link related to a book by Bob Thiel (COGwriter). This also has YouTube videos related to 2012. The book is for those truly interested in understanding how prophecies inter-relate and who want to see a real sequence of end time events.  World events have already aligned with at least 20 predictions that it contains–and would you like to know which others will also come to pass?
