The President of the United States wants to be out of Afghanistan by August 31, 2021:

August 25, 2021

On Tuesday, President Joe Biden said the U.S. is on track to evacuate all American and allied citizens, as well as Afghans eligible for special immigrant visas or otherwise at risk of persecution by the Taliban, out of the country by Aug. 31.

“The sooner we can finish, the better. Each day of operations brings added risk to our troops,” the president said.

To meet the Aug. 31 deadline, U.S. military forces will need to stop evacuating people out of the airport days before their final troop withdrawal, Pentagon press secretary John Kirby said Tuesday. That means the window for evacuating refugees and others is even closer than the official end of American presence on the ground. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2021/08/25/afghanistan-news-evacuations-hit-88-k-week-until-withdrawal-deadline/5583587001/

Back on 1/27/18, I posted:

Islamists figured out some time ago that they can often outlast the USA if they wait long enough. Although President Obama said that the Taliban was defeated, it does not act like it accepted that ‘defeat.’ (Thiel B. Taliban terrorist kills close to 100 in Afghanistan. COGwriter, January 27, 2018)

It was back in 2012, that Barack Obama essentially claimed victory for the USA in Afghanistan (cf. https://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2012/05/01/obama-afghanistan-speech/).

I have warned for some time that the situation in Afghanistan was not going as well as the USA has publicly declared or hoped.

Back on March 9, 2013 (see Taliban suicide bombing in Afghanistan: Considered to be a warning?), I wrote:

Unless the USA keeps enough troops in Afghanistan (which it is not intending to do), the situation there will change to something that the USA has claimed that it does not want. The Taliban, other Islamic groups, and tribal leaders will pretty much insure that.

Notice another news item from the past:

October 26, 2014

Officials with the U.S.-led coalition say the Afghan forces held their own this summer fighting season and did not lose any significant ground.

“I’m cautiously optimistic they will be able to sustain themselves,” said Brig. Gen Daniel Yoo, the commander of Regional Command (Southwest), said of the Afghan forces.

He said the success of the Afghan security army and police depended on leadership, continued development of logistics and confidence.

“They’ve got to want it more than we do,” he said of Afghan forces that have been losing hundreds of soldiers and policemen each month in battles, assassinations and suicide attacks by insurgents. http://www.voanews.com/content/afghanistan-troop-withdrawal-us-marines-british-combat-forces/2496918.html

In response to the above on October 26, 2014 (see USA and UK cease combat operations in Afghanistan: What’s next?), I wrote:

The ceasing of combat operations by the UK and USA is not a victory in Afghanistan. It is a pause so that troops can be pulled out. It will not bring real peace to the region. At least some in Afghanistan will likely support the rise of a leader that the Bible refers to as the final King of the South.

On April 22, 2015, I wrote (see Taliban to begin new offensive in Afghanistan):

The USA did not defeat the Taliban in Afghanistan–it basically ‘kicked the can further down the road.’ After seeing what happened to Iraq after the USA ceased ‘combat operations’ this should make it clear that Afghanistan is not secure. …

Since the Bible prophesies terrorism and we may well see more coming in and/or from Afghanistan.

On January 10, 2016, I posted (see VOA: ‘A Try for Peace in Afghanistan as 4 Nations Meet’):

The Taliban wants to control Afghanistan. They do not just want peace in some section. The “political solution” that Afghanistan needs is the Kingdom of God. …

There will be no lasting peace in Afghanistan. As I have repeatedly written, Afghanistan needs the Kingdom of God.

Expect to see some shifts in Afghanistan as it likely will give some support to the final caliphate known as the King of the South of Bible prophecy (Daniel 11:40-43).

In April, 2017, US President Donald Trump authorized the dropping of something sometimes called ‘the mother of all bombs’ in Afghanistan against suspected terrorists. Here is something I wrote about that (see M.O.A.B. Apocalypse? Trump triggering WWIII? ‘North Korea threatens pre-emptive nuclear strike’):

The release of M.O.A.B. on Afghanistan seems to be another message. … What Donald Trump has been doing is NOT about to spark WWIII …

The bomb sent a message that Donald Trump would be willing to take military action, it did not spark WWIII, but it also did not stop terrorism in Afghanistan.

On June 3, 2017, I posted (see Afghanistan: Clashes, terror, quagmire, and death):

The situation in Afghanistan is not encouraging.

There will be no lasting peace in Afghanistan–though a temporal peace is likely to affect it and elsewhere (cf. Daniel 9:27; see also The ‘Peace Deal’ of Daniel 9:27).

Afghanistan has been called the USA’s longest running war. And the USA has not been able to bring peace. Afghanistan is a mountainous region that is broken up into various tribal areas. Afghanistan was a financial drain on the old Soviet Union and some believe that this is part of the reason the Soviet Union finally broke up.

Afghanistan is not secure. Afghanistan needs the Kingdom of God.

On April 15, 2021, I posted the following:

Now with the USA apparently going to pull all troops out with the Taliban active and anticipating further action, in a sense, then America has been defeated by “Asian forces.” …

The situation in Afghanistan is going to change. I believe that more terrorists will be trained in Afghanistan. …

Changes will come to Afghanistan and the end of the USA is coming relatively soon. (Thiel B. BBC: Afghanistan: ‘We have won the war, America has lost’, say Taliban, COGwriter.com, April 15, 2021)

The Bible prophesies terrorism and we will be seeing terrorism in (and from) Afghanistan as part of a confederation against the USA and at least some of its British-descended allies (see also Psalm 83, Why Terrorism? Is Terrorism Prophesied?, and Is the Future King of the South Rising Up?). And as far as from Afghanistan goes, watch our latest uploaded video: Afghanis: Potential terrorists?

The USA did not win in Afghanistan. It will be gone soon (see also Might the U.S.A. Be Gone by 2028?).

PCG believes the Taliban’s victory is really a victory for Iran. Today it posted the following:

Exposing the Iran-Backed Taliban Takeover of Afghanistan

Iran not only planned for the eventual exit of the United States from Afghanistan; it has worked with the Taliban for almost a decade to bring it about.

August 25, 2021

The Taliban coming to power in Afghanistan will not counter Iranian hegemony in the Middle East. In fact, Iran not only planned for the eventual exit of the United States from Afghanistan, but also worked with the Taliban for almost a decade to bring it about. The forces of radical Islam, led by Iran, are set to receive a massive boost, economically, militarily and ideologically, from the Taliban takeover. …

This increase of support for the Taliban was the direct result of the work of now-deceased Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force leader Gen. Qassem Suleimani. The Middle East Eye reported that Suleimani visited Afghanistan in 2015; several deals were made with the Taliban whereby Iran promised to “provide unlimited financial and technical support” to the group. The Middle East Eye also reported that Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (irgc) officers were sent to Afghanistan to train and advise Taliban fighters. Iran provided safe haven for Taliban leadership as part of the agreements as well. …

The Bible prophesies that Iran is going to lead radical Islam, not the Taliban, and not Islamic State. https://www.thetrumpet.com/24501-exposing-the-iran-backed-taliban-takeover-of-afghanistan

While PCG is correct that the group known as the Islamic State is not going to lead Islam (though some of its supporters will help support the coming leader), it is wrong about Iran doing so.

PCG wrongly believes that Iran is the prophesied King of the South.

What is happening in the Near East and Middle East is setting the stage for the rise of an Islamic leader–but that will not be Iran (see also Iran in Prophecy).

Based on prophecies found in Daniel 11:40-43 and Ezekiel 30:2-8, this leader looks to be Arabic or Egyptian, not Iranian.

That being said, the withdrawal of Americans from Afghanistan is widely viewed as a defeat to the USA around the world and has further diminished its status as a great superpower.

While the USA remains a global superpower, the Bible shows that it will be conquered and totally defeated (cf. Daniel 11:39; see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses)–and that it looks to happen in just a few years (for details, watch Is the USA prophesied to be destroyed by 2028?).

Any who think that Joe Biden, or even Donald Trump, will be able to stop the coming total destruction of the USA are in error.
