Puerto Rico and Dominica are in very bad shape from Hurricane Maria

Hurricane Maria has devastated both Puerto Rico and Dominica.

Here is some information about Puerto Rico:

Hurricane Maria: Puerto Rico officials describe ‘apocalyptic’ conditions

September 24, 2017

Days after Hurricane Maria pounded the island of Puerto Rico, killing at least 10 people, authorities are starting to see firsthand the scope of devastation that left the US territory off the grid.

Without power and communications in much of the island, millions of people, including city leaders and first responders, have been cut off from the world since Maria hit Wednesday.

Authorities flew over the island Saturday, and were stunned by what they saw. No cellphones, water or power. Roads completely washed away and others blocked by debris, isolating residents.

“It was devastating to see all that kind of debris in all areas, in all towns of the island,” Jenniffer González, the island’s non-voting representative in Congress told CNN.

“We never expected to have a lot of debris in so many areas. A lot of roads are closed, older ones are just gone,” she added. … Some described the conditions in their communities as “apocalyptic” and said there have been incidents of looting in both homes and stores. http://www.cnn.com/2017/09/24/americas/hurricane-maria-puerto-rico-aftermath/index.html

In the 21st century, not having electrical power for weeks or months will be a burden for those affected, will greatly impact their ability to work, disrupt communications, and will even impact food supplies. Stealing/looting is not the answer.

Hurricane Maria damage in Roseau, Dominica

Here is some information about Dominica:

September 24, 2017

Prime Minister of Roosevelt Skerrit pleaded with world leaders yesterday to lend military equipment to help rebuild the hurricane ravaged island. …

On Monday, Dominica had 90 per cent of homes and public buildings, including it’s main hospital in Roseau and schools completely destroyed by the 160 mph winds of the Category 5 Hurricane Maria. There were 15 confirmed deaths on the island and fears that that toll would rise by today.

Skerrit told the UNGA Dominca has been brought to its knees and they need resources now.

“I call upon those with substantial military capacities to lend us the rescue and rebuilding equipment that may be standing idle waiting for a war. Let Dominica today be that war . . . because currently, our landscape reflects a zone of war,” he said.

“Mr President, we dug graves today in Dominica! We buried loved ones yesterday and I am sure that as I return home tomorrow , we shall discover additional fatalities, as a consequence of this encounter.

“Our homes are flattened! Where there was green there is now only dust and dirt! The desolation is beyond imagination. Mr President, fellow leaders . . . The stars have fallen. Eden is broken! Dominica has come here to declare an international humanitarian emergency.” http://www.guardian.co.tt/news/2017-09-23/dominica-brought-its-knees

The OECS Bar Association is concerned about what is happening in Dominica, especially reports of looting, following the passage of Hurricane Maria last Monday.

Widespread looting has been reported on the island following the catastrophic category 5 hurricane which left 15 people dead and more than 20 missing.

“We have heard of all the reports of looting happening and I know members of the St Lucia Defence Force have gone up to augment the forces there from the Regional Security System already, so we are helping in that respect,” President of the Association Thaddeus Antoine said. https://www.barbadostoday.bb/2017/09/24/oecs-bar-association-concerned-about-looting-in-dominica/

Dominica has been effectively destroyed. Stealing/looting is not helpful for Dominica.

The Apostle Paul taught:

28 Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. (Ephesians 4:28)

People are to produce and help others, not take what is not theirs.

There has been a lot of bad news related to hurricanes in the past several weeks.

The Bible teaches:

2 Better to go to the house of mourning
Than to go to the house of feasting,
For that is the end of all men;
And the living will take it to heart. (Ecclesiastes 7:2)

Do you take the damage to heart?

Do you realize that this is only the beginning of sorrows?

Jesus taught:

8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows. (Mark 13:8)

We have had some “troubles,” but the situation will ultimately get much worse.

Devastation is coming to the world in the Great Tribulation and the Day of the Lord (see When Will the Great Tribulation Begin? 2017, 2018, or 2019?).

A few days ago, because of a link at a news site, I saw the following in a post by Lance Roberts:

September 21, 2017

When I was growing up my father, probably much like yours, had pearls of wisdom that he would drop along the way. It wasn’t until much later in life that I learned that such knowledge did not come from books, but through experience. One of my favorite pieces of “wisdom” was:

“Exactly how many warnings do need before you figure out that something bad is about to happen?”

Of course, back then, he was mostly referring to warnings he issued for me “not” to do something I was determined to do. Generally, it involved something like jumping off the roof with a queen-sized bedsheet convinced it was a parachute.

After I had broken my wrist, I understood what he meant. https://realinvestmentadvice.com/4-warnings-for-the-bull-market/

So, Lance Roberts realized AFTER he broke his wrist, he should have heeded the warnings.

After Hurricane Maria, more in Puerto Rico and Dominica are probably realizing that the islands should have taken more steps to protect themselves.

The people there realize that they are vulnerable to hurricanes.

The Bible teaches:

3 A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself, But the simple pass on and are punished. (Proverbs 22:3)

18 Poverty and shame will come to him who disdains correction, But he who regards a rebuke will be honored. (Proverbs 13:18)

Not enough steps were taken before Hurricane Maria hit. Sins were multiplied by looting after Hurricane Maria hit.

As regular readers of this page are aware, I have repeatedly warned of weather problems coming as well as chaos and food shortages. Back in 2009, in my book, 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect, I warned of:

Odd weather patterns result in food shortages and natural disasters. Matthew 24:7 …

The world is actually in a berserk transition … It may be a period of chaos. It is the beginning of sorrows. Matthew 24:8 (Thiel B. 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect. Nazarene Books, 2009, p. 240)

Since that was published, we have had record smashing heat, stronger hurricanes, and odd weather problems. There was a severe food shortage in St. Martin this month because of Hurricane Irma. There has been chaotic looting in the Caribbean and Florida. These issues should serve as a wake-up call (for information about Bible prophecy and hurricanes, here is a link to the video: Hurricanes and Prophecy).

The Bible is full of warnings, but many do not understand them and will not heed them.

Notice the following:

1 There were present at that season some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And Jesus answered and said to them, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things? 3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:1-5)

Do not think that Puerto Ricans and Dominicans are more sinful than others. Devastation will hit other places (see also Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse).

While most feel that prophesied dangers will affect them, the biblical reality is that almost all humanity will fail to heed the warnings (see When Will the Great Tribulation Begin? 2017, 2018, or 2019?).

Will you?
