In its latest TW News & Prophecy, LCG reported that Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin is continuing his quest on creating a Eurasian union:

Eurasian union developing?

Vladimir Putin envisions a Eurasian Union that will put Moscow as a top leader among the world’s nations by 2015. The Russian Prime Minister “has a vision for a Soviet Union-lite he hopes will become a new Moscow-led global powerhouse.” On January 1, 2012, Russia moved one step closer to this goal with an agreement with Belarus and Kazakhstan to allow free movement of goods and capital across their borders.Putin’s plan is to extend his reach, becoming head of a Eurasian superpower. “As Putin envisions it, the still-hypothetical union will eventually stretch from the eastern fringes of Central Europe to the Pacific Coast and south to the rugged Pamir Mountains abutting Afghanistan” (Associated Press, January 3, 2012).

Mr. Putin’s plans for a Eurasian union fit with prophecies recorded long ago in the Bible, where God revealed a future alliance that He would bring to pass (Isaiah 46:9-10). In Daniel 11:40-44 the European King of the North (or “Beast”) is prophesied to destroy the Middle-Eastern King of the South. This Beast will occupy Jerusalem, yet news from the east and north will “trouble him” (v. 44). This Eurasian Union could be a source of a 200-million-man army that is prophesied to march from the east across the Euphrates and descend on Jerusalem (Revelation 9:13-19; 16:12-16). This massive army will annihilate a third of mankind and will destroy the Beast just prior to the return of Jesus Christ. The only nations capable of assembling such an army are those intended to be in this Eurasian union and include Russia, China, and possibly India, among others.

China has its own ambitions:

China in US gunsights

Is China’s rise going to lead to conflict with America? Is Beijing destined to go to war with today’s undisputed global superpower?

BBC – Jan 6, 2012

One early response to the new US policy has come from the state-controlled Global Times newspaper, often nationalist in its opinions.

It says “China needs to enhance its long-distance military attack ability and develop more ways to threaten US territory in order to gradually push outward the front line of its ‘game’ with America”.

“China,” the paper says, “must make the US realise that its rise can’t be stopped and that it is best for the US to show friendliness towards China.”

China Warns US on New Asia Military Focus
Its message: America should steer clear “militarism” in the region.

The reality is that the Chinese comments will likely persuade the USA to make alliances with Europe and others that will not help.  Europe, with various allies, and not primarily China and Russia, will be the main threats to the USA as Europe with its allies will succeed in not a huge number of years.

Of course, in the New Testament it is shown that a group of nations known as the Kings of the East will form–but to come into the Middle East and not the USA:

12 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared. 13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. 15 Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.” 16 And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon (Revelation 16:12-16).

This concept of Asian involvement in a major battle is confirmed in the Book of Revelation. Notice the following:

13 Then the sixth angel sounded: And I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.” 15 So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released to kill a third of mankind. 16 Now the number of the army of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them. 17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision: those who sat on them had breastplates of fiery red, hyacinth blue, and sulfur yellow; and the heads of the horses were like the heads of lions; and out of their mouths came fire, smoke, and brimstone. 18 By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed–by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which came out of their mouths(Revelation 9:13-18).

Only China, and possibly India and others in Asia, which would apparently align themselves with a Russia confederation against the European Empire, are capable of fielding a two hundred million man army.

But this will not be against the USA as it will be gone before (Daniel 11:39).

The Bible shows that a Eurasian military union will happen involving those from the north AND the east will form and frighten the European King of the North:

…the king of the North… 43 He shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; also the Libyans and Ethiopians shall follow at his heels. 44 But news from the east and the north shall trouble him; therefore he shall go out with great fury to destroy and annihilate many. 45 And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and no one will help him (Dan 11:40,43-45).

And will all of that WILL happen, it is likely that it may be proceeded by various types of economic unions and/or treaties. Such as what Vladimir Putin has been proposing.  The fact that China expects to increase its military power will likely help.
