The Dutch Finance Minister, Sigrid Kaag, who has a close connection to the World Economic Forum (WEF) as the tweeted letter above shows, wants more financial controls and essentially to cancel cash:

In the slipstream of “big” issues, there is a stubborn struggle in many countries to keep cash. Many governments want to gradually phase out cash and are aiming for purely digital currencies in the future. European citizens have long feared this step towards the abolition of cash and tighter controls: in public consultations, almost every second response was concerned about the protection of privacy.

The fact that this course is quite controversial was made clear recently by the new Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni – she announced that she wanted to increase the upper limit for cash payments in Italy from the current 2000 to 10 000 euros, the same amount as in Germany.
WEF-star, The Netherlands, meanwhile is marching full steam ahead in the opposite direction. If Finance Minister Sigrid Kaag has her way, all transactions over 100 euros will be monitored by the banks in the future – a massive invasion of privacy. In addition, unsurprisingly, the minister is campaigning for the introduction of the digital euro.
According to the Dutch news agency Business AM, the finance minister is currently working on a relevant draft law. Transfers that exceed the amount of 100 euros are to be stored in a separate database accessible to the government. …
In addition, Kaag is pushing for the launch of an EU-wide central bank digital currency. No surprise really since Kaag is a Schwab acolyte par excellence. “The introduction of the digital euro is becoming more and more real. I think it’s important that we in the Netherlands, with our innovative and open economy, take an active part in these considerations,” the minister was quoted as saying in a letter she sent to the House of Representatives in the summer.
Transfer monitoring from 100 euros would be a clear step in this direction. …
The ECB plans for the digital euro are taking on more and more concrete forms. The Brussels grandees are leaving no stone unturned and their henchmen in governments are implementing the plan to control citizens. Pretending that the alleged fight is against money laundering and terrorism when governments invite in ISIS terrorists to stay, or claiming that it’s about a reconstruction of the devastated economy in Europe – all these fabrications are supposed to serve as a pretext for their totalitarian project.

Many members of the WEF, including its founder Klaus Schwab, want to basically eliminate privacy and be able to monitor, and also control, buying and selling.

In the digital economy, cash is no longer a useful tool, and a central bank digital currency (CBDC) is the “only solution” to continue the existing monetary system, according to a new paper from the European Central Bank (ECB).
The eurozone’s central bank recently published a paper titled, “The Economics of Central Bank Digital Currency.” Authors assessed the implications for the financial system and examined data privacy and digital payments.
Researchers concluded that a CBDC, like a digital euro, would be the “only solution” to facilitate a “smooth continuation” of the present monetary system. Despite widespread concerns that CBDCs would limit the credit supply and function as a disruptive force in the financial markets, the paper rejected these concerns as being unfounded.
Digital money is critical in a digital economy, the ECB noted. Since “cash is losing its appeal as efficient means of payment,” a CBDC is a necessary tool to install. Although the research identified drawbacks of instituting a uniform digital monetary system, such as the sluggish pace of settlements, market developments, and adoption, the paper noted that “a digital update of cash” is crucial to advancing “the two-layer system of public and private money.”
Ultimately, cash possesses “large economic costs without clear benefits,” so “it is by construction not ‘fit’ for the digital age.”
Digital money might generate privacy concerns, authors warned. …

Bindseil (2020) notes that in a negative interest rate environment demand for CBDC would be potentially unlimited if it were remunerated at a zero interest rate. At the same time, a CBDC carrying a negative interest rate might face adoption obstacles as users would perceive cash as a less costly means of payment. …

A Belgian declared that the EU was the “new Sheriff in town” to deal with the “wild west” of Bitcoin, blockchain, and other cryptocurrencies. The European Union now also has the European Public Prosecutor’s Office in operation, mainly to deal with financial matters? Apart from Nageswaran, some top government officials have also said that a decision on crypto regulation will indeed be sought after by India at the summit, as per media reports. …
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has always maintained a hard stance against cryptocurrencies, at times even advocating a ban on trading with digital assets altogether, owing to the extremely volatile nature of such tokens. However, the Centre is yet to show any movement along these lines.
In fact, the Indian government is keen on tapping into the digital coin space. Notice that the above wants to regulate cryptocurrencies, like Bitcoin. When Bitcoin started to become popular, some falsely thought it would remain unregulated. The COGwriter Church of God News page, however, warned that governments would move to regulate it in time (Thiel B. Bitcoin, China, NSA, & the Beast. COGwriter, December 5, 2013).
Furthermore, Bitcoin has encouraged governments and organizations like the WEF to push for digital currencies so they can monitor buying and selling.
The Bible, itself, prophesies that totalitarian financial controls are coming to Europe:
16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

The type of controls prophesied in Revelation 13:16-18 were something that was not possible when Jesus had the Apostle John pen the above. But it is possible now with digital technology–particularly if cash is eliminated and made inconsequential.

The government of Belgium is in the process of ordering small businesses to accept credit cards. In Sweden more and more cashless transactions are occurring.
