Pope Francis tweeted his proposed solution to the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Here is a related report from the Catholic News Agency:

Pope Francis to consecrate Russia and Ukraine to Immaculate Heart of Mary

March 15, 2022

Pope Francis will consecrate Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the Vatican announced on Tuesday.

The Holy See press office said on March 15: “On Friday, March 25, during the Celebration of Penance at which he will preside at 5 p.m. in St. Peter’s Basilica, Pope Francis will consecrate Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.”

“The same act, on the same day, will be carried out in Fatima by His Eminence Cardinal Krajewski, Apostolic Almoner, as envoy of the Holy Father.”…

Ukraine’s Latin Rite Catholic bishops asked Pope Francis earlier this month to consecrate Ukraine and Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. …

Following the bishops’ call, Our Lady of Fatima shrines worldwide were invited to unite in prayer for the conversion of Russia.

The appeal was made by Father Andrzej Draws, rector of the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Fatima in Krisovychi, western Ukraine.

He encouraged all shrines in honor of Our Lady of Fatima to unite in prayer for the conversion of Russia on March 13. …

During the Fatima apparitions in 1917, the Blessed Virgin Mary revealed three secrets.

The second secret was a statement that World War I would end, and a prediction of another war that would start during the reign of Pius XI if people continued to offend God and Russia was not consecrated to Mary’s Immaculate Heart. …

In a letter written in 1989, Sister Lucia confirmed that Pope John Paul II satisfied Our Lady’s request for Russia’s consecration in 1984. https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/250674/pope-francis-to-consecrate-ukraine-and-russia-to-immaculate-heart-of-mary

Apparently, Pope Francis and others believe that the consecration is the way of peace. The Bible warns of those who do not know the way of peace (cf. Romans 3:17)–and that is pretty obvious in this case.

Not it should be mentioned that various pontiffs have done a ‘version’ of what the apparition, which DID NOT identify itself as Jesus’ mother Mary, reportedly asked for.

Back in October 2013, Pope Francis decided to consecrate the world to the so-called ‘immaculate heart of Mary.’ Something was also done last Saturday in Fatima (see Our Lady of Fatima shrines asked to join in prayer for conversion of Russia?).

A similar type of consecration was performed by the late John Paul II. Various Fatimists have insisted that no pontiff followed the precise instructions of the Fatima apparition (the Vatican officially disagrees), hence there are wars and other problems.

The Russia message was told to the world by a nun named Lucia, who was one of three children who claimed to see ‘the Lady of Fatima.’ Here is what Lucia claimed the apparition said about Russia:

“You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart.

If what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace. The war is going to end: but if people do not cease offending God, a worse one will break out during the Pontificate of Pius XI. When you see a night illuminated by an unknown light, know that this is the great sign given you by God that he is about to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war, famine,

and persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father. To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart and the Communion of reparation on the First Saturdays. If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated. In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph.

The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, and she shall be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world.” (Santos L. Fatima in Lúcia’s Own Words, 14th edition. Priest L Kondor ed. Translated by Dominican Nuns of Perpetual Rosary. Imprimatur Fatimae, Junii 2003 + Seraphinus, Episc. Leir-Fatimensis, Ravengate Press, September 2004, pp. 123-124)

Because of the ongoing conflict and causalities in Ukraine, Pope Francis is now willing to do a consecration specific to Russia.

Here is some additional information about the ‘consecration matter,’ from my book Fatima Shock! What the Vatican Does Not Want You to Know About Fatima, Dogmas of Mary, and Future Apparitions:

Notice the following from a July 15, 1946 interview that Catholic historian William Thomas Walsh held with Lúcia:

She…said more than once, and with deliberate emphasis: ‘What Our Lady wants is that the Pope and all the bishops in the world shall consecrate Russia to Her Immaculate Heart on one special day. If this is done, she will convert Russia and there will be peace. If it is not done, the errors of Russia will spread through every country in the world.’

“Does this mean, in your opinion, that every country, without exception, will be overcome by Communism?”

Now there is controversy associated as to if this consecration was ever done properly.  Cardinal Bertone insists that Lúcia says it was in 1984.125    Yet, many priests and  other  Fatima  watchers  have  indicated  that  since the consecration that Cardinal Bertone referred to, like previous “consecrations,” was not specific to Russia and did not involve enough bishops, that the consecration remains to be done.

According to the August 1987 edition of Para Ti (an Argentinean journal) “on July 20, 1987, Sister Lucy…told journalist Enrique Romero that the Consecration of Russia was not done as requested.”

It is believed by some that to do this consecration now “would bring all dialogue between the Holy See and the Russian Orthodox Church to a screeching halt” (as they tend to consider it an insult against their nation and faith).

On the other hand, in May 2011, Bishop Fortunatus Lukanima claimed:

If Russia is consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and is converted, then a lot of things will, indeed, improve and there will be peace.

Some Fatimists, like Priest Nicholas Gruner, claim that if the consecration is ever done properly it would involve 5,000 bishops who would do a “prayer that would last anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes and that is all that would be required to achieve this goal of peace, harmony, prosperity, and goodwill.  It would make everyone’s eternal salvation easier to achieve…”  Yet, that position is not biblical as it is the return of Jesus, and not the consecration of Russia, which the Bible teaches would lead to that type of world (cf. Revelation 20:1-6; 22:3-5).

Furthermore, if the consecration was properly done in the past as some have claimed, the Lady was supposed to have converted Russia to “Her Immaculate Heart.”  But that simply has not happened.   And decades later than the reported consecration, while more Russians consider themselves Orthodox, “church attendance remains low” and relatively few Russians consider themselves to be Roman Catholic.

Priest Joaquin M. Alonso reported, that according to Lúcia:

The conversion of Russia is not to be limited to the return of the Russian Peoples to the Orthodox Christian religions…but rather, it refers purely, plainly and simply to the total, integral conversion of Russia to the one true Church of Christ, the Catholic Church.

Well, although there are ecumenical and other discus- sions between the Vatican and Russian Orthodox Patriarch Kirill, Russia has not embraced the Church of Rome as its faith (though the Russian Orthodox will likely, temporarily, make some type of an ecumenical deal).

On the other hand, if it had not been done as many have insisted, we still have not seen every country in the world overtaken by Russia Communism—and this is nearly a century after the apparition allegedly first called for the consecration.  Lúcia was wrong when she claimed that the entire world would otherwise become Communist.  Some may claim that this event is for the future still, but I do not believe that the Bible allows for Russian communism to take over the world.  The Bible, and certain Catholic prophetic writings, suggests that it will be a European power (which will at first claim to support ecumenical Catholicism134) that will betray the Church of Rome (Revelation 17:16), but a power like a Russian-led confederation will later attack Europe per Daniel 11:44.

Thus,  at  least  one  prophecy  of  Fatima,  as  Lúcia understood it related to Russian   communism, appears to have been false or, at least, highly delayed. …

In her Third Memoir, written in the summer of 1941178 and published in 1942, Lúcia claimed that in 1917 the Lady asked for the consecration of Russia.179     Yet, in a hand written letter from her (a copy of which I viewed), the translation of it states:

The request about Russia — it appears that it was in June 1930, from Thursday to Friday, and that it took place from the 12th to the 13th, from 10:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. at night.180

Thus, it may be that parts of the secret were expanded after some of the “predicted” events had taken place.  This seems to be evidence of that idea as Pope Pius XI called for a day of prayer for Russia to change on March 19, 1930181 and Lúcia originally wrote that her vision happened in June 1930. (Thiel B. Fatima Shock! What the Vatican Does Not Want You to Know About Fatima, Dogmas of Mary, and Future Apparitions, 3rd ed. Nazarene Books, 2017)

The #105 edition of the Fatima Crusader put out by The Fatima Center has the following from its late leader Priest Nicholas Gruner (bolding in source) who did NOT believe that John Paul II fulfilled it:

I was encouraged that in the former Archdiocese of our new Pope there exists a sanctuary and two parishes dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima. Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary is especially practised on the first Saturday of every month. So the words and requests of Our Lady of Fatima would not be foreign to him.

The other thing I had in my background was a prophecy from Antonio Ruffini, who has a prophetic gift. He told me in January, 1990 that this Pope – he didn’t name him – but he just said “the successor of the successor of John Paul II would be the one to do the consecration.” If Ruffini is not mistaken, then it’s a good sign. We may finally have a Pope who is going to do the consecration of Russia. Prudently though, we have to wait and see whether or not Ruffini completely understood whatever message he got on that.

What this means is that a Roman Catholic “prophet” told Priest Gruner that it would be possibly Pope 112 on the Malachy prophecy list that would bring devotion to Mary to the world, peace, and prosperity. Here is some of what Priest Gruner believed will happen if that ‘consecration’ is done:

How do we avert the wars and financial turmoil that are plunging the nations into chaos?

Our Lady of Fatima promised that if the Pope and bishops of the Catholic Church, in unison, consecrate Russia to Her Immaculate Heart, a period of world peace would follow, ushered in by the conversion of Russia. That consecration has yet to be performed, but Pope Francis has asked that his papacy be consecrated to Our Lady of Fatima, so the prospects for the consecration are now favorable.

No, consecrating Russia to the immaculate heart of Mary is not the answer to problems facing the world, nor will it truly bring world peace.

Yet, is it possible that Pope Francis is doing this consecration to attempt to fulfill what Lucia said ‘the Lady of Fatima’ wanted?

Yes.

But unless all the Roman Catholic bishops join him, this ‘consecration’ will still not meet the criteria that Lucia stated the ‘Lady’ wanted.

However, at minimum, I suspect that since there will eventually be some type of deal involving Russia and Ukraine where Russia stops bombing, etc., that some may point to the consecration (either the one planned for March 25th or the one done on March 13th, 2022 as proof that “Mary” intervened.

Do not think all this Marian stuff is only for the past.

Based on various biblical prophecies about signs, sorceries, and lying wonders, I believe it is highly likely that in the future there will be one or more fairly ‘public’ views of an apparition claiming to be Jesus’ mother Mary.

Pope Francis is still very Marian-focused and his tweet about consecration is consistent with that.
