Syria’s Assad and Russia’s Putin blame the West for the migrant crisis; Europe will change

Europe has been facing a migrant crisis of aliens who often do not enter it legally. There are people fleeing political persecution and wars in the Middle East and Africa, as well as people hoping for better economic situations pouring into Europe from the same regions.

Many migrants are from Syria.  Its President Assad blamed the West, and mainly the USA, for this:

September 16, 2015

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad blamed Western nations for the surge of refugees who have left his country and made their way to Europe, saying the West has supported “terrorism” since the beginning of the Syrian crisis.

The Syrian conflict, which began in March 2011 as peaceful protests before being met by a harsh crackdown and spiraling into a multi-party civil war, has forced half of Syrians from their homes.

But in an interview with Russian media, Assad rejected the view that government actions are responsible for people fleeing or that the crisis started as a peaceful uprising.  He said those are part of propaganda by Western governments that, “are simultaneously sympathizing with the refugees while also causing them to be in danger in the first place.”

“So as long as they follow this propaganda, they will have more refugees,” Assad remarked.  “So it’s not about Europe didn’t accept them or invite them as refugees, it’s about not dealing with the cause.  Stop — if you are worried about them — stop supporting terrorists.” …

Anti-government fighters

Assad has long described any anti-government fighters are “terrorists.”  The U.S. and some European nations have provided what they call moderate rebels with military equipment and training.

The conflict in Syria became more complicated with the emergence of the Islamic State group, which seized large areas in northern and eastern Syria, including it’s de facto capital in the city of Raqqa.  Combating the group is the one area of consensus between Syria and a U.S.-led coalition of nations who have been carrying out airstrikes against the militants for the past year.

Both Syria and the U.S. have said they do not cooperate in their missions against the Islamic State.  Assad said at one point there was indirect contact with Iraq as an intermediary, but no longer.

“For them maybe if they cooperate with the Syrian army this is like a recognition of our effectiveness in fighting ISIS.  This is part of willful blindness of American administration, unfortunately,” he said.

Renewed criticism

But while renewing his criticism of the U.S.-led bombing campaign that has conducted more than 2,500 airstrikes, Assad said the militants continue to grab more Syrian territory.

“The reality is that despite the coalition having started its operation, Islamic State continues its expansion,” he said.  “They cannot do anything.  This coalition does not affect the situation on the ground.” http://www.voanews.com/content/assad-blames-refugee-crisis-on-western-support-of-terrorists/2965763.html

The way the USA has handled Iraq and Syria has been a major factor in contributing to at least part of the migrant crisis that Europe is facing.

Notice some comments from Russia’s President Vladimir Putin about this:

September 7, 2015

Russia’s President Putin has presented the unadulterated truth on the migrant crisis to the world, saying the following:

I think the crisis was absolutely expected. We in Russia, and me personally a few years ago, said it straight that pervasive problems would emerge, if our so-called Western partners continue maintaining their flawed … foreign policy, especially in the regions of the Muslim world, Middle East, North Africa, which they pursue to date.

Putin highlighted the necessity to find out “what is happening, and what to do next“, while branding Western policies as “shortsighted“. He also noted that the U.S. was not feeling any impact at all from the current crisis, despite playing a huge role in creating it.

Speaking specifically on Syria, Putin saidOf course, we know that there are different approaches to Syria. By the way, people are running away not from the regime of Bashar Assad, but from Islamic State, which seized large areas in Syria and Iraq, and are committing atrocities there. That is what they are escaping from. They kill hundreds and thousands of people, burn them alive or drown them, cut off people’s heads. How are people supposed to live there? Of course, they run away.

This incredibly important delineation comes in response to the ridiculous claims of Western leaders that this is all Assad’s fault. Russia has also been working with Damascus to overcome the problem diplomatically, a far cry from Western meddling in the country, and Putin says “the president of Syria, by the way, agrees with it, up to calling early parliamentary elections, establishing contacts with the so-called ‘healthy’ opposition and involving them in governance.”

Putin also spoke of the dismal effort behind Western attacks on ISIS, saying “We see what is happening now: the US Air Force is carrying out strikes. Yet, the efficiency of these airstrikes is poor. It is premature to say that we are ready to do it [too].”  http://21stcenturywire.com/2015/09/07/putin-the-only-world-leader-speaking-sense-on-syria-the-migrant-crisis/

Notice also something from two US Senators:

September 16, 2015

“As a nation we bear some responsibility for what’s happening,” said Republican Senator Bob Corker of Tennessee, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.  …

Fellow Republican Senator Susan Collins of Maine also laid blame for the Syrian crisis at Obama’s feet.

“The problem is that the president has completely lacked a strategy for solving the problem at its root,” said Collins.  “I see this only getting worse.  I don’t see how a country like Jordan can take more refugees, or Lebanon. They are overwhelmed already.“

……………………

“That’s a start,” Democratic Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia said of the administration’s plan.  “When you compare that with what Lebanon is doing, housing over a million, Turkey over 2 million, Jordan a million, I just think there is a lot more we can do.” …

Kaine said there was plenty of blame to go around.

“We can’t say it’s all the president’s fault,” he said.  “Look, we had a vote on whether to use military force in Syria against the humanitarian nightmare of chemical weapons.  A lot of people who talked tough up until the vote voted ‘no.'”  http://www.voanews.com/content/united-states-lawmakers-mull-options-syrian-migrant-crisis/2965149.html

So, some leaders in the USA recognize that the USA has contributed to the problem–and that is correct.

As I have written before, many who have migrated into Europe have come because of US actions and inactions in Syria and Iraq. Russia’s President Putin correctly realizes this.  The Europeans may finally realize that.

The time will come when Islam will basically be gone from the world, and Europe may end up being one of the first places to ban it. Currently, Europe has a large Muslim population and many from Syria and Iraq are also Muslim.

While some European officials appear to be welcoming these migrants, others are not.  Notice also the following:

September 16, 2015

For the first time in twenty years, Europe’s borders are closing again. First Austria, then Denmark and now Germany have implemented partial border suspensions of the Schengen principle of free movement. As the Syrian refugee crisis evolves into the European migrant crisis, more closures may be on the way. Europe is disintegrating under the moral pressure of hundreds of thousands of people needing and demanding help. …

Under the EU’s “Dublin system,” refugees are ordinarily expected to claim asylum in the first EU country they reach. Germany “temporarily” suspended this rule.

Germany’s unilateral suspension of the Dublin system created a giant sucking sound heard as far away as Syria, Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan. German protestations that only Syrians were covered by the blanket offer of accommodation fell on deaf ears. Germany’s noble offer to take in 800,000 refugees this year and up to 500,000 in every year to follow was bound to be more loudly trumpeted than its fine-print terms and conditions.

A mere three weeks later, on September 13, Germany announced that it could no longer cope with the influx and attempted to shut the door. …

The government of the Czech Republic is already sending policeto its border with Austria to close the backdoor route to Germany via Prague.

In announcing its own border closures, Germany’s interior minister Thomas de Maizière said that “Germany is facing up to its responsibilities, but the burden has to be spread in solidarity.” All eyes (and ears) now turn to German chancellor Angela Merkel. Will she allow squalid camps of refugees chanting “Germany” to spring up on Germany’s southern and eastern borders?

The official German line is that the refugee crisis is a European problem, not the responsibility of any one EU country to solve. But any quota system designed to distribute refugees among EU member states is doomed to fail because no one has consulted the refugees themselves. Will refugees assigned to the Balkans and the Baltics actually go to those countries? If they do go, will they stay? The answers are probably: no and no.

And what about the non-Syrians among the refugees currently overrunning Europe? It is Germany’s position that most of them should be returned to their home countries. But how? By force? Germany and the other countries of northern Europe will ultimately accept these asylum seekers or face mass homelessness on their streets. Having traversed two continents to find better lives for themselves and their children, they will not voluntarily go home.

What Germany has created through three weeks of unrestrained idealism is a policy quagmire that may reverberate for generations.  http://nationalinterest.org/feature/europes-migrant-crisis-ideals-vs-realities-13851

Europe itself will change. The Bible shows that Europe will reorganize and a strong leader will emerge:

12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. (Revelation 17:12-13, NKJV throughout unless otherwise specified)

This Beast leader, who is also known as the final King of the North, will ultimately promote his religion (Daniel 11:36-38; which will not be Islam, he will at first feign and claim a form of Roman Catholicism), destroy the USA and its Anglo-Saxon allies (Daniel 11:39), and then takeover the predominantly Islamic nations in the Middle East and North Africa (Daniel 11:40-430).

This Beast leader is NOT Russian (see also Is Russia the King of the North?).  Despite claims from Protestant Joel Richardson, this Beast leader is NOT Islamic (see also Is There an Islamic Antichrist?).

Catholic writings tell of a time when a ruler will push Islam out of Europe:

St. Francis de Paul (1470):…From your lordship shall be born the great leader of the holy militia…the Great Monarch…He shall be a great captain and prince of holy men, who shall be called ‘the holy Cross-bearers of Jesus Christ,’ with whom he will destroy the Mahometan sect and the rest of the infidels…He shall be the great founder of a new religious order different from all the others…This shall be the last religious order in the Church and shall do more good for our holy religion than all other religious institutes. By force of arms he shall take possession of a great kingdom. He shall destroy the sect of Mahomet…There will be one fold, one shepherd. He shall reign until the end of time. On the whole earth there will be twelve kings, one emperor and one pope. (Culleton, p. 157-161).

Venerable Bartholomew Holzhauser (died 1658):…”When everything has been ruined by war; when Catholics are hard pressed by traitorous co-religionists and heretics; when the Church and her servants are denied their rights, the monarchies have been abolished and their rulers murdered…There will rise a valiant monarch anointed … “He will root out false doctrines and destroy the rule of the Moslemism. (Connor E. Prophecy for Today. Imprimatur + A.J. Willinger, Bishop of Monterey-Fresno; Reprint: Tan Books and Publishers, Rockford (IL), 1984, pp.35-36)

The ‘Great Monarch’ that is spoken of above is quite similar to the final King of the North that the Bible warns against. Both Catholic and biblical prophecy teach that this leader will be a European, probably at least partially of German heritage. As the 21st century proceeds, do not be surprised that Islam will be pushed out of Europe to a major degree (Daniel 11:36-38; Revelation 13:4,8,11-17).

Notice both a Catholic and a biblical prophecy:

Rudolph Gekner (died 1675). “A great prince of the North with a most powerful army will traverse all Europe, uproot all republics, and exterminate all rebels. His sword moved by Divine power will most valiantly defend the Church of Jesus Christ. He will combat on behalf of the true orthodox faith, and shall subdue to his dominion the Mahometan Empire.” (Cited in Connor, Edward. Prophecy for Today. Imprimatur + A.J. Willinger, Bishop of Monterey-Fresno; Reprint: Tan Books and Publishers, Rockford (IL), 1984, p.36).

40 “At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through. 41 He shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon. 42 He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. 43 He shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; also the Libyans and Ethiopians shall follow at his heels.  (Daniel 11:40-43)

Notice that the ‘great prince of the North’ is expected to subdue an Islamic Empire.  Notice that the Bible teaches that the ‘king of the North‘ will go into the Middle East and North Africa and eliminate the leader called the ‘king of the South.’  The lands of the ‘king of the South’ are currently Islamic.  Perhaps it should be mentioned that Syria is expected to support the confederation of the king of the South (see also Ezekiel 30:2-8), though the time will come that its capital will be destroyed (Isaiah 17:1).

The destruction of a coming Islamic confederation (see The Prophesied ‘Islamic’ Confederation ) will be part of the result of what is happening in the Middle East and in the West.

Although we need to rely on the Bible, and not ‘private Catholic prophecies,’ notice the way some of them mirror the Bible.  This should give us pause to consider that some who claim Catholicism will point to them as part of their justification for actions they may take in the future.

It should also be understand that while the Bible indicates that Europeans will defeat the Muslim peoples in the Middle East and North Africa per Daniel 11:40-43 and Ezekiel 30:2-8, the Bible also shows that they will make deals with the Europeans (Daniel 11:27; Psalm 83)–these deals will NOT turn out well for the USA in the long run (cf. Daniel 11:39).

It may well be that migrant issues will be one of the triggers to get Europe to ultimately reorganize as the Bible teaches it will in Revelation 17:12-13, Daniel 11:21-38, Daniel 2:41-43, and other passages.

For years I have written that Islamic migrants in Europe will become an issue that Europe will decide it has to address.  Since the idea that the currently crisis has at least partially been caused by the USA will give the Europeans more pause for concern.
