Financial disaster to hit USA no later than 2033?

James Hickman of Schiff Sovereign sent out an email with the following:
Yesterday afternoon the US government published its annual report stating plainly that America has eight years left before a major financial crisis.
This is not hyperbole. This is not conjecture. This is not some wild conspiracy theory.
In fact, eight years until a crisis is probably the BEST CASE SCENARIO unless Congress takes serious action soon.
That’s because the most critical trust fund in the Social Security system (called OAS, or “Old Age Survivors) will be fully depleted.
That’s precisely what it says in the 2025 Annual Report of the Board of Trustees of Social Security, signed by the US Secretary of Treasury just yesterday.
And once that OAS Trust Fund runs out of money, the report states that Social Security benefits will be immediately and permanently cut by at least 23%. And then the benefit cuts will likely become worse over time.
This will constitute a broken promise to 70+ million Americans who spent decades paying into a system that was supposed to be solvent by the time they retire.
Now, Social Security’s biggest trust fund running out of money in 2033 would be problematic enough.
But on top of that— by 2033, the total US national debt will be $52 TRILLION according to Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates. And the CBO notoriously underestimates deficits… so in all likelihood the national debt will be event greater.
$52 trillion is so large that the government could easily be spending 40% of all tax revenue just to pay interest on the national debt.
Think about that. Not on defense. Not on infrastructure. Not even on the bloated entitlement programs Washington refuses to reform. Just interest.
These two things together— a massive annual interest bill combined with Social Security’s insolvency— will likely combine to a gargantuan fiscal crisis in the US. It’s eight years away.
Amazingly, politicians are not concerned. There is very little will to cut federal spending, or make necessary reforms that would allow Social Security to continue operating.
Foreign governments and central banks, on the other hand, clearly understand this problem.
As far as foreign governments, etc. go, some have been concerned that since Israel attacked Iran this month, that the USA dollar did not have its traditional “safe haven” rise–though this week was fine for it in the financial markets. While most still ignore reality, many are waking up to the fact that the USA and its currency has major risks.

What I saw from Taylor Kenny did not show a year, like James Hickman did for 2033.
Speaking of years, last week I posted something here about the Iran-Israel conflict and 2032 (see Could the Israel-Iran battles point to Jesus returning in 2032?).
And in yesterday’s Continuing Church of God Letter to the Brethren: June 19, 2025, there was the following:
Israel and Iran have been battling again.
Israel’s defenses (like the Iron Dome) have been breached again and can and will be breached in the future.
The attacks do not seem to be over, though one or both sides could pause them for a time.
In a post last week (see Israel attacks Iran–might Iran retaliate and cause ‘great damage’ to Jerusalem as prophesied in Isaiah 22:6-8?), I pointed to this matter as possibly tying in with the return of Jesus in 2032.
Why?
There are several scriptural reasons, but they are contingent on, or at least possibly tied to, the following:
- If the last days that the Apostles Peter (Acts 2:14-17) and Paul (Hebrews 1:1-2) told of only refer to days 5 and 6 of seven one thousand year days (they possibly could include the latter decade of day 4) and
- If Jesus was killed and resurrected in 31 A.D. and
- If there is a precise and literal 6000/7000 year plan and
- If the 6000 years ends after the 2 1/2 year great tribulation and before the start of the one year ‘day of the Lord’ (Isaiah 34:8) –then that would seem to be the year 2031–and
- If the current (or related soon) conflict results in “great damage” to “the city of David” in the fulfillment of Isaiah 22:6-8 and
- If that results in a peace deal with some type of a seven-year component and
- If that part of the deal is the prophesied one which becomes confirmed by a “prince” (Daniel 9:26-27) in 2025, then
- We would expect the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:21-22) to start about 3 1/2 years afterwards–which is when the deal is broken and the abomination of desolation will be set up (Matthew 24:17; Daniel (9:27; 11:31) and then
- Jesus would return about 3 1/2 years later, which presuming item 7 occurs, would be in 2032 (the year 2025 plus 7).
Last year, in the COGwriter.com article related to the 6,000 years, I had the following statement:
If Jesus was killed in 31 A.D., presuming there is a 6,000 year plan (see Could God Have a 6,000 Year Plan? What Year Does the 6,000 Years End?), and the 6,000 years ends at the start of the “Day of the Lord,” we may see the confirmation of the deal of Daniel 9:27 perhaps by the Fall of 2025.
When I was part of my previous COG, I advised its leadership to consider that the 6,000 years could end one year before Jesus returned–as the Day of the Lord is God’s wrath on the disobedient on the earth. And that may be the case.
As most of you are aware, I have repeatedly warned that we were likely to see a regional war before the deal of Daniel 9:27 is confirmed.
While I did NOT believe that Iran’s attacks in April 2024 (see NM: Iran Warns of ‘Stronger Response’ If Israel Retaliates to Attack; I365: Biden: US won’t support Israeli response to Iran attack) or October of 2024 were that, these current battles may turn into that war.
Jesus said:

Now, IF Jesus is to come in 2032, the USA dollar would NOT last past 2029–hence it would not get to 2033.
Therefore, the article by James Hickman may be quite optimistic. Furthermore, the warnings of Taylor Kenney should be considered as one day the fiat currency known as the USA dollar will be worth nothing more than its scrap or nostalgia value.
Their articles show that some are seeing dangers and wondering.
