EuroNews reported the following:

‘Profoundly damaging’: EU leaders condemn Trump’s withdrawal from UN climate treaty

8 January 2026

The Trump administration’s decision to pull out of international environmental structures has drawn sharp criticism from both sides of the Atlantic.

World leaders have condemned the Trump administration’s decision to pull the US out of the United Nations global climate treaty and more than 60 other international environmental organisations.

In a statement announcing the move on Wednesday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio framed the move in explicitly political terms, declaring that global climate institutions are no longer relevant to the country’s interests. …

The European view

Condemnation of the Trump administration’s move has come fast in the US and abroad, including in Europe, where political leaders responded by reiterating the importance of the global climate treaties and organisations as drivers of global climate cooperation to slash global temperatures.

The European Commission’s Executive Vice President for a Clean, Just, and Competitive Transition, Teresa Ribera, didn’t mince her words, saying the White House “doesn’t care about the environment, health, or the suffering of people”.

“Peace, justice, cooperation or prosperity are not among its priorities. Not even the great legacy of the United States to global governance. And they spell it out,” she said.

European Commissioner for Climate Action Wopke Hoekstra, dubbed the US’s withdrawal as “regrettable” and “unfortunate” and reiterated the bloc’s support for international climate research.

“We will also continue to work on international climate cooperation. And at home, we will continue to pursue our agenda of climate action, competitiveness, and independence,” said Hoekstra.

Lawmaker Catarina Vieira (The Netherlands/Greens) said President Trump’s decision to withdraw the US from the UNFCCC was “reckless” and “profoundly damaging”.

“As heatwaves, fires and floods intensify, turning away from science and cooperation is a political choice with real human and economic costs. The world will move forward. The US is choosing to stand aside,” Vieira told Euronews. https://www.euronews.com/my-europe/2026/01/08/profoundly-damaging-eu-leaders-condemn-trumps-withdrawal-from-un-climate-treaty

Trump withdraws US from UN climate treaty and 65 other global bodies

8 January 2026

President Trump signed an executive order suspending US participation in 66 UN agencies and international organisations, including the UN climate treaty, marking a major retreat from global cooperation.

US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday suspending Washington’s participation in dozens of UN agencies, commissions and advisory panels focused on climate, labour, migration and other issues his administration describes as promoting “woke” initiatives.

This means the US will withdraw from 66 international organisations including the UN climate treaty framework, marking the most extensive retreat from global cooperation in its modern history. https://www.euronews.com/2026/01/08/trump-withdraws-us-from-un-climate-treaty-and-65-other-global-bodies

The Europeans have long been upset with Donald Trump on climate matters. He has just upset them more.

Donald Trump pulled the USA out of the Paris agreement the first time he was in office and did so again in his second term–now he pulled out of even more.

Here is something I warned about in my free eBook Unintended Consequences and Donald Trump’s Presidency: Is Donald Trump Fulfilling Biblical, Islamic, Greco-Roman Catholic, Buddhist, and other America-Related Prophecies?:

Climate Change

Donald Trump’s views against the ‘climate change’ agenda have not pleased the Europeans.

As 45th President, Donald Trump pulled his nation out of the Paris Climate Accord agreement that the Obama-Biden Administration agreed to. The Biden-Harris Administration had the country rejoin that deal. Donald Trump intends to pull the USA out of the agreement again.

The Paris conference was technically called the 21st Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, often abbreviated COP21. This is something that the Vatican also endorsed. There has been a COP meeting most of the years since (COVID affected it), but partially because of Donald Trump’s re-election, COP29 (held for two weeks in November 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan) was considered ineffective in making significant improvements.

Europeans consider that they are the ones that are “moral” on this matter and that the re-election of Donald Trump is making international climate improvement much more difficult. [i]

Perhaps it should also be mentioned that Olav Fykse Tveit, when he was General Secretary of the World Council of Churches said it was a “sin against the Holy Spirit, if we all ignore climate change.” [ii] Essentially, he is stating it is the ‘unpardonable sin’ (cf. Luke 12:10) to not accept the climate change agenda. Donald Trump railed against the climate change agenda in his latest campaign and believes much of it is against America’s interests.[iii]

Irrespective of how one views the climate change matter, holding views that differ from Olav Fykse Tveit is not a “sin against the Holy Spirit.” However, the reality is that countries, like the USA, should not agree to something on an international basis (like COP21) and then not follow through (cf. Psalm 15:1-4).

Donald Trump’s view of climate change has caused issues with Europe. Europe tends to see the USA as an irresponsible polluter of the planet, while Europe increasingly believes itself to be the environmental protector that the world needs.

Europeans consider that they are the ones that are “moral” on this matter and that the USA is basically polluting and betraying the world.

Trump Is Turning the US Into the Planet’s Rogue Nation

Globally, fossil fuel emissions for producing electricity plateaued—even fell slightly—over the first half of the year. It’s an epochal moment for the planet, but US emissions still rose. … given the Trump administration’s all out war on clean energy. We are quickly emerging as the planet’s rogue nation, …

China is now exporting more clean energy than the US is exporting dirty energy:

The US, which has positioned itself as a major fossil fuel exporter, sold $80 billion in oil and gas abroad through July, the last month with data available. China exported $120 billion in green technology over the same period.

With that number, you can feel world leadership passing from Washington to Beijing. It’s even more remarkable because the thing that China is mostly exporting—solar panels—keeps getting cheaper and cheaper: …

As Edward White writes in the Financial Times:

While US President Donald Trump calls climate change a con, China is offering new technology and products to countries to develop green energy and to prepare for increasingly frequent and intense storms, floods, and droughts.

Two days after our Changsha trip I attended a meeting in Beijing of Chinese officials and representatives of climate-vulnerable nations, a group that includes 74 nations with more than 1.8bn people.

Liz Thompson, a former UN assistant secretary-general and now climate change ambassador for Barbados, said just as climate-vulnerable states are hit by more disasters, they are hampered in their response because of a lack of access to technology and financing. “These challenges provide compelling reasons to work more closely with China,” she said.

Chinese officials and business leaders are keen to oblige. Zhang Shiguo, executive director of China New Energy International Alliance, an organisation backed by government associations and renewable companies, said the country’s green products had already reached 170 countries. “The reason China’s new energy sector has done well is the determination to act,” Zhang added.

Even though the world HAS NOT been living up to the Paris Accords, the US looks like it will be blamed in the future. Europe one day will consider that the US is so immoral on climate and trade matters that it needs to be eliminated, consistent with several biblical prophecies.

There was a climate related vote in the United Nations last July that the USA probably did not like:

Will the USA be a Climate Outlaw?! UN’s top court says failing to protect planet from climate change could violate international law – Those harmed by the climate ‘could be entitled to reparations’

July 23, 2025

THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — The United Nations’s top court in a landmark advisory opinion Wednesday said countries could be in violation of international law if they fail to take measures to protect the planet from climate change, and nations harmed by its effects could be entitled to reparations.

Advocates immediately cheered the International Court of Justice opinion on nations’ obligations to tackle climate change and the consequences they may face if they don’t.

“Failure of a state to take appropriate action to protect the climate system … may constitute an internationally wrongful act,” court President Yuji Iwasawa said during the hearing. He called the climate crisis “an existential problem of planetary proportions that imperils all forms of life and the very health of our planet.”

The non-binding opinion, which runs to over 500 pages, was hailed as a turning point in international climate law.

Notably, the court said a “clean, healthy and sustainable environment” is a human right. That paves the way for other legal actions, including states returning to the ICJ to hold each other to account as well as domestic lawsuits, along with legal instruments like investment agreements.

The case was led by the Pacific island nation of Vanuatu and backed by more than 130 countries.

All U.N. member states including major greenhouse gas emitters like the United States and China are parties to the court. https://www.climatedepot.com/2025/07/23/will-the-usa-be-a-climate-outlaw-uns-top-court-says-failing-to-protect-planet-from-climate-change-could-violate-international-law-those-harmed-by-the-climate-could-be-entitled-to-repara/

To answer the question in the above headline, yes, I believe that the USA will be considered to be a climate outlaw.

That said, there is a solution to ‘climate change,’ but the political and religious leaders of this world will not heed it.

Related to the COP27 meeting in the past, we put together the following video on our Bible News Prophecy YouTube channel:

14:42

COP 27 and Solving Climate Change

The dates for the United Nations Climate Change meeting called COP 27 are November 6th through 18th, 2022. During that time, on November 13, 2022, a ‘Chrislam’ type group composed of leaders from the Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Protestant, Islamic, Buddhist, Hindu, and other faiths associated with the Interfaith Center for Sustainable Development and the Elijah Interfaith Institute are making what they titled ‘A Prophetic Call for Climate Justice’ and are having a ‘Ceremony of Repentance’ on what is referred to as Mount Sinai, in Egypt. Do this sound Gaia, mother goddess worship? Are Christians supposed to have religious ceremonies with pagans? What did the Apostle Paul write? What did Jesus say would happen to the earth? Are humans, apart from God, going to solve climate problems before Jesus returns? Is there any type of false gospel associated with aspects of the climate change movement? Would obeying God solve the issues of pollution and climate change? What about the good news, the gospel of the Kingdom of God? Does the Bible have the solution to pollution? Does the Bible have the answer to solving climate change? Dr Thiel and Steve Dupuie discuss these issues.

Here is a link to our video: COP 27 and Solving Climate Change.

But, partially because of Donald Trump and his stated policies, the US will be blamed for the world not hitting its climate goals.

Before US President Donald Trump took office THE FIRST TIME, I wrote and had the following published:

Donald Trump’s view of climate change is expected to set up some type of issue between the USA and Europe. Europe will tend to see the USA as an irresponsible polluter of the planet, while Europe will claim to be the protector that the world needs. (Thiel B. Donald Trump and America’s Apocalypse. Nazarene Books, 2017)

Furthermore, because of at least two of Donald Trump’s executive orders in his first presidential term, the USA was being called a rogue nation then as well. Here is a dictionary definition of rogue:

1. a dishonest, knavish person; scoundrel.

2.a playfully mischievous person; scamp:

The youngest boys are little rogues.

3.a tramp or vagabond.

Check out the following video:

17:19

Because of US President Donald Trump’s position on ‘climate change’ as well as certain executive orders from him, the USA has been declared a rogue nation by various ones in Europe, Africa, Asia, and other parts of the world. How does Webster’s Dictionary define ‘rogue’? Is it possible that considering that the USA is a rogue nation will be part of the justification for it getting taken over in the future? What does the Vatican want done? Does the Bible teach that friends, who do not mean to takeover the USA will one day destroy it? Might ‘climate change’ be part of a false gospel?

Here is a link to our video: The USA Declared a ‘Rogue Nation’!

The relationship with Europe will get worse than people expect. ‘Climate change’ is likely to be one reason that the Europeans will feel justified about what they will ultimately do.

The Europeans will turn against its ‘friend’ that was “great among the nations”:

1 How lonely sits the city
That was full of people!
How like a widow is she,
Who was great among the nations!
The princess among the provinces
Has become a slave!

2 She weeps bitterly in the night,
Her tears are on her cheeks;
Among all her lovers
She has none to comfort her.
All her friends have dealt treacherously with her;
They have become her enemies. (Lamentations 1:1-2)

The Europeans will take over the “great” USA per Daniel 11:39 (see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses). If more and more consider the USA to be a rogue nation, it will be easier to persuade more to support the takeover. Climate positions of the USA may be something that will be used to justify the takeover.

This will not end well for the USA (cf. Daniel 11:39; Isaiah 10:5-11).
