The anti-Church of God Banned by HWA and the Painful Truth websites continue to slander and make provably false statements about me, Bob Thiel. They should cease and desist. They need to issue a statement of apology and retraction for publicizing false statements.
What appears to be among their latest is a supposed ‘deep dive’ by the Painful Truth site last November (which I did not see until today), much of which was repeated today June 18, 2026 at the Banned by HWA website.
Jesus said:
19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God. (John 3:19-21)
I will not bother to address all of the false statements, but will shine light of truth on their darkness on several points.

When I was in my previous COG, I tried to not let people online know I had the health related degrees, awards, and certifications because 1) I did not want to be accused of having the COGwriter.com website for personal financial gain and 2) because I did not (and still do not) wish to give health advice over the internet. After leaving LCG, I eventually decided to let various licenses, etc., which I felt I no longer needed, lapse.

Furthermore, I was perhaps the first (and maybe only) person to ever to be awarded a Naturopathic Doctor diploma from a vocational school approved by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education (BPPVE), a unit of the California Department of Consumer Affairs, that years later no longer functioned. The above contains false and hateful statements. I am not a medical doctor, nor never claimed to be one–actually that has been posted in my office for three decades. I did, however, hold a naturopathic physician’s license for some time. Here are copies related to two years of that:
The article Banned article stated that at least a dozen of my credentials did not exist. The scanned documents demonstrate that such statements are incorrect.
Readers may disagree with my church teachings or prophetic conclusions. However, disagreement does not justify false statements regarding my educational background, licenses, credentials, or awards.
Let me note that there is also a lot of false and misleading statements at the Painful Truth site (though I never saw the post about my credentials there until late today), but since that site seems to block copying text from it, I have not included quotes from them. But I will say that even though the poster claimed to contact official sources, the sources, in some cases, did not go back far enough in their records, and hence provided that inquirer inaccurate information.
That said, the Apostle John wrote:
8 Again, a new commandment I write to you, which thing is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away, and the true light is already shining.
9 He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now. 10 He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him. 11 But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes. (1 John 2:8-11)
Those who push lies and falsehoods are in darkness and their eyes are blinded. They have hardened their hearts.
The Apostle Paul, quoting the Old Testament, wrote:
15 … “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.” (Hebrews 3:15)
Sadly, many do that.
Of course, such was predicted for our time. Paul also wrote:
But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, … 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! (2 Timothy 3:1-2,5)
13 … evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. (2 Timothy 3:13-15)
Yes, I am saying that many people associated with the Banned and Painful sites are deceived and deceiving others–they overlook the truth as well as many scriptures.
Reportedly, Joseph Goebbels, Hitler’s German Minister of Propaganda stated:
If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.
Sadly, many have been taken in with lies that have often been repeated.
The CCOG has endured many false statements.
But that should not be a surprise, because Jesus said that would happen:
11 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. (Matthew 5:11-12)
Throughout history, faithful servants of God have often been falsely accused and misrepresented and had all kinds of evil false said against them. What would one expect to happen to a true prophet in the 21st century (see also 21st Century Church of God Prophets)?
Jesus also said:
44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, (Matthew 5:44)
Those who post against the truth at the Banned and Painful sites remain in my prayers.
The Book of Proverbs tells us:
16 The lazy man is wiser in his own eyes
Than seven men who can answer sensibly. (Proverbs 26:16)
Those who believed the lies about me are not wise. The over a dozen documents posted here were issued by others that sensibly prove that some people are passing falsehoods about my background. Furthermore, 6 of those documents were officially issued by state and local governments and three were from colleges/universities with governmental approval.
Jesus also said:
45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me. 46 Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? 47 He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God. (John 8:45-47)
Hopefully, you are of God and are one who will believe (as well as act upon) the truth.
Do not fall for the deception at Banned, Painful, and elsewhere.
