COGwriter

The United Church of God (UCG) reported that the following about of its Council of Elders:

So, based on what was announced yesterday, and the above update, the Council of Elders as of today is comprised of:

  • Gary Antion
  • Scott Ashley
  • Bob Berendt
  • Bill Bradford
  • Roc Corbett
  • Bill Eddington
  • John Elliott
  • Roy Holladay
  • Darris McNeely
  • Melvin Rhodes (chairman)
  • Mario Seiglie
  • Robin Webber

On July 1, 2011, Donald Ward will take Roc Corbett’s seat.

UCG had a split last year and because of it has made a lot of changes in the individuals on its Council.  I have tended to not be involved in the details surrounding the claimed causes for the split from UCG, in which most of its Latin American ministry ended up with a new group that formed which called itself Church of God a Worldwide Association (COGWA).

At this stage, I presume that UCG’s Council will be somewhat stable, though changes are always likely.

Some say the Church should mainly feed the flock now as that is what Herbert W. Armstrong reportedly said. Is that what he said? Is that what the Bible says? What did Paul and Herbert W. Armstrong expect from evangelists?
