Temple Institute: HaShem will reign to all eternity! … G-d’s ultimate goal is to …

In its newsletter today, the Temple Institute had the following:

“HaShem will reign to all eternity!”

(Exodus 15:18)

Shevat 16, 5781/January 29, 2021 …

Israel is free! On its own! Independent! That’s the new reality as we begin this week’s Torah reading, Beshalach. Well… not quite. Israel is in the wilderness, seemingly wandering aimlessly, as G-d directs them, first to this location, then to that. They are fleeing from a very nasty past, but are heading into an unknown future. No one really knows where they are heading and just how far they will get. Even Moshe seems to be playing it one day at a time. In fact, they seem to be so lost that Pharaoh, barely recovered from the loss of his first born, has decided that “They are astray in the land; the wilderness has closed in on them,” (Exodus 14:3) and are ripe for retaking. As Pharaoh and his legions close in on Israel it all seems lost, what has barely begun.

Unbeknownst to either Israel or Pharaoh, G-d has a plan.

HaShem (literally ‘the Name’) is used to refer to God, by certain Jews.

That being said, yes, God still has a plan.

But many, including those at the Temple Institute do not understand important aspects of God’s plan (see also the free online book The MYSTERY of GOD’s PLAN: Why Did God Create Anything? Why Did God Make You?).

In that same newsletter today, the Temple Institute also had the following:

G-d’s ultimate goal is to enter into a covenant with Israel, as we will soon see at Sinai. In order to do so, Israel must be a fully independent, fully cognizant people. In other words, Israel needs to grow up, and to grow up fast. And to grow up means to assume responsibility for oneself. …

Step by step, G-d is raising His people, fashioning them into what He will soon refer to as “a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.” (ibid 19:6) The final test of Israel in the concluding verses of Beshalach, is the test of Amalek. It is here where Moshe takes the initiative, places Yehoshua in command, and leads the battle against the blind hatred of Amalek. Yes, G-d is still there, still hovering protectively over Israel, for all who gaze up at Moshe’s outstretched arms to see. But Israel, G-d’s firstborn, is also learning to stand on its own two feet. And not a moment too soon, as the battle against Amalek continues to this day, while in our throats remains the cry, “HaShem will reign to all eternity!”

The Temple Institute is correct that God will reign for all eternity (Micah 4:7; Revelation 11:15). That is part of the good news of the Kingdom of God.

The Temple Institute is also correct that God has a plan for priests. The New Testament teaches:

4 John, to the seven churches which are in Asia:

Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth.

To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, 6 and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. (Revelation 1:4-6)

10 And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth. (Revelation 5:10)

6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years. (Revelation 20:6)

So, yes, having those called in this age being priests is part of God’s plan.

But why?

Just so people will be taught to look at God throughout eternity as many who profess Christ claim?

Or is it for something else?

God’s ultimate plan is that He is in the process of reproducing Himself so that after the resurrection:

18 ‘I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.” (2 Corinthians 6:18)

Why?

God is love. (1 John 4:8)

Love is at the foundation of the plan.

God’s plan is to have His sons and daughters be able to give love in a unique way in order to make eternity better for themselves and everyone else.

Because places like the Temple Institute do not accept the New Testament as scripture, they are blinded to many of the mysteries of God’s plan.

Sadly, so are most who profess Christ.

And even many within the COGs do not fully grasp important aspects of some of the mysteries of God’s plan.

But you can know about many of the mysteries of the Bible.
