European Union and the Mark of Anthropic? Will ‘666’ use this mark?

The European Union has had some new regulations go in force earlier this month related to AI–Artificial Intelligence.

The European Union has gotten Anthropic to agree to adding a watermark:

EU compliance, delivered globally: Anthropic to watermark Claude’s output worldwide

Anthropic will invisibly watermark all of Claude’s text and file output from 2 August to meet EU AI Act transparency rules, with the marking applied globally, whether or not the user is anywhere near Brussels.

Anthropic will begin embedding invisible watermarks into text generated by its Claude large language model and chatbot in a move designed to satisfy new European Union rules on AI transparency.

“Claude models launched on or after August 2, 2026 support marking at launch. We’re also working to add marking support to Claude models released before that date,” the San Francisco based AI giant said in a statement.

The new marking policy includes all of the services provided by Claude, including its consumer app, the developer-facing Claude Platform (API), Claude Code, Claude Cowork and Claude Tag, as well as versions of Claude accessed through AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Foundry.

The watermark will either be weaved in as “an imperceptible watermark directly into the text itself” or as metadata, so that when “Claude generates a supported file type, such as a .svg, .png, or .jpg, it will attach signed provenance metadata… [that] signals that a file was processed by Claude and lets you detect whether the file has been tampered with.”

Anthropic said the watermark would apply to every region where Claude is offered, not just the EU.  …

The timing traces directly to the EU’s AI Act.

The act requires that AI systems creating synthetic content, such as deepfakes, mark their outputs as artificially generated under Article 50.

Regulators expect providers to rely on a multi-layered marking strategy, combining digitally signed metadata, imperceptible watermarking and, in some cases, fingerprinting or logging as a fallback, since the Code of Practice makes clear that no single marking technique is sufficient on its own.

Notice that this has already happened!

There are now trackable watermarks on Claude’s output.

Notice that presumably governments outside of the European Union will also be able to track this mark of Anthropic. Presumably this will also happen to other AI platforms.

In the EU’s defense, it is true that there are dangers associated with AI.

Anthropic calls for pause of global AI development

Artificial intelligence company Anthropic suggested Thursday a global pause on building the most powerful AI systems as the latest models are beginning to show signs they could escape human control.

The San Francisco-based company, which makes the Claude family of AI models, said in a report that a worldwide slowdown in cutting-edge AI development would “likely be a good thing” — but warned that if only one company stopped, rivals would simply race ahead.

“We believe it would be good for the world to have the option to slow or temporarily pause frontier AI development to enable societal structures and alignment research to keep up with the advance of the technology,” it said.

Getting a real pause to work would mean multiple major AI companies in multiple countries — most notably the United States and China — all agreeing to stop at the same time, under rules everyone could actually verify, Anthropic said.

That idea may prove somewhat unpopular with the likes of Elon Musk, as the hotly anticipated stock market debut of his SpaceX company — which owns his artificial intelligence venture xAI — is expected to make him the world’s first trillionaire.

Regarding Elon Musk, eight years ago, he warned about AI.

Billionaire Elon Musk declared he was worried that artificial intelligence (AI) may lead to the rise of an “immortal dictator,” a “godlike” entity that could take over the world. Is this accurate, or at least, close in some ways? Does Bible prophecy foretell of the rise of an immoral leader who considers himself above all gods? Will this result in great destruction? What is AI? How might it fit in with various prophecies? Was the increase in technological knowledge we now have prophesied over 2000 years ago? Now in 2026, Elon Musk has basically been suggesting AI will basically solve poverty etc. (see Elon Musk says no need to save for retirement as Artificial Intelligence will create enough mass wealth). But he still has concerns about it (see Elon Musk says his ‘Grok 3’ artificial intelligence program is ‘terrifyingly smart’: Another 666 prelude?).

Since that video came out, there have been more actual and announced advancements in AI technology.

Notice, also, some of what will be coming from a power that will arise in Europe:

We are getting closer to that day, with technologies unheard of when God inspired John to warn what would happen–like computers and AI–that the totalitarian Beast of Revelation will be able use to assist his 666 reign as well as enforce the coming ‘famine of the word’ of God.

While the watermark of Anthropic is NOT ‘THE mark of the Beast,” it is a mark that looks like it will be used by the 666 Beast.

A lot is happening with AI.

And aspects of it will be used to support the fulfillment of some biblical prophecies.

But, AI will NOT destroy humanity–though the Beast power will use it.
