Thousands of flights have been delayed or canceled Tuesday following a round of severe storms that hammered the eastern United Sates.
More than 330 flights were canceled early Tuesday, with another 1,400 delayed, according to data from FlightAware. It’s a significant improvement from Monday when 8,200 flights were delayed and 1,600 were canceled.

“Global boiling” ups the verbal ante. It’s designed to sound the alarm and trigger more radical action to stave off the worst of climate change.
Guterres chooses his words carefully. But does he choose them wisely?
At one level, “global boiling” is clearly an exaggeration, despite the extreme summer heat and fire during the northern summer.
But then again, “global warming” is now far too tame a descriptor. …

As far as extreme weather goes, regular readers of this page are aware, I have repeatedly warned of weather problems coming. Back in 2009, in my book, 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect, I wrote that the following was about to happen:

Since that was published, we have had record smashing heat, various serious fires, and odd weather problems. These weather issues should serve as a wake-up call.

The lying appears ubiquitous among government agencies monitoring the weather. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has “disappeared” an internet page that demonstrated that, 90 years ago, we experienced a far greater wave of heat than we are experiencing today. For now, the NASA “Global Climate Change” website still displays an article by Ellen Gray, NASA’s Earth Science News Team, that features a scientific study demonstrating that we experienced the worst drought of the last thousand years in 1934 during the “dust bowl” years of the Depression. …

I do not consider that all the climate and heat reports are a hoax–though some comments related to them are not always true. As far as truth goes, it is true that many pushing aspects of the climate agenda have totalitarian motivations and often are overly dismissive of those who want to present other facts.
That said, consider the following prophecy from Jesus:
5 And Jesus, answering them, began to say: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 6 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and will deceive many. 7 But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet. 8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows. (Mark 13:5-8)
Weather troubles are consistent with the “beginning of sorrows” that Jesus referred to and that we are now in.
But, as far as “global boiling” goes, we are nowhere near what is yet to happen.
The Bible shows that we will see much higher heat:
8 Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. 9 And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory. (Revelation 16:8-9)
But, the above prophecy is for at least 6 years into the future–we are not too near that yet. But I believe that this will happen in the 21st century.
In 1934, the old Radio Church of God published the following:
Revelation … Now for the moment let us go back to the 11th chapter to identify the 7th Trumpet plague, or 3rd WOE.
Notice verse 14, and 15. The seventh angel sounded. What IS this woe? It is not the great voices in heaven announcing the time has come for Christ to rule. That is good news, not a woe or plague,
But we find it in verse 18. “The nations were angry, and THY WRATH is come.” This is the only thing mentioned that could describe the woe. It is GOD’S WRATH.
And, skipping now the three inset chapters, we find GOD’S WRATH described in Rev. 15:1. THIS is the 7th “Trumpet” or 3rd Woe: “seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up THE WRATH OF GOD.”
The seventh Trumpet, or third Woe, then, IS the seven LAST plagues. Just as the 7th Seal was sub-divided into the 7 Trumpets, so now the 7th Trumpet is sub-divided into the 7 parts, or the 7 Last Plagues.
These terrible plagues are described in detail, and symbolically, of course, in the 16th chapter of Revelation. But while symbols are used, remember they represent very real, literal things to happen!
We catch a glimpse of how terrible these last plagues will be from such expressions as “men were scorched with great heat,” and “they gnawed their tongues for pain, and blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds. Those who refuse to repent NOW — to respond to God’s loving appeal — or to heed the warning of those who are faithfully sounding it — are so hardened that they refuse to repent then. The door of mercy is still open to them, even during these last plagues. (Armstrong HW. What is Going to Happen! Plain Truth, June-July 1934)
The Bible shows:
30 God … commands all men everywhere to repent (Acts 17:30)
And weather problems are one tool that God uses to urge people to repent (cf. Haggai 2:17; Amos 4:7-12). But most will not. Nor will most Christians as they should (cf. Revelation 3:14-18; see also The Laodicean Church Era).
As far as the cause of the coming prophesied heat, the old Worldwide Church of God offered a possible explanation in 1976:
Great gaping holes were torn in the already depleted ozone layer by the thermonuclear detonations. Men and animals began to drop like flies from the intensified bombardment of ultraviolet radiation.
“The fourth angel poured his bowl on the sun, and it was allowed to scorch men with fire; men were scorched by the fierce heat” (Rev. 16:8).
Ecological failsafe had come and gone. The earth’s ecosystem lay mortally wounded, its vital signs rapidly failing. The countdown to the extinction of all life was well under way. Now it was only a matter of time. (Ritter G. Are We Living in the Last Days? – Part 3. Good News, August 1976)
Regarding that time, Jesus warned:
21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened. (Matthew 24:21-22)
The Book of Revelation adds:
18 The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come,
And the time of the dead, that they should be judged,
And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints,
And those who fear Your name, small and great,
And should destroy those who destroy the earth.” (Revelation 11:18)
Humans are setting the planet up for destruction, but God will intervene.
Furthermore, we know from the Bible that God uses weather matters, including high heat (Revelation 16:8-9) and what is often called climate change today (Amos 4:4-9) to encourage repentance and obedience to Him (Haggai 2:17).
