Donald Trump is trying to halt all trade with Spain:

US President Donald Trump called for an end to trade with Spain at the NATO summit in Ankara on Wednesday.
Speaking about Spain’s refusal to commit to NATO’s new defence spending target of 5% of GDP, Trump said that “Spain is a terrible partner in NATO” at a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. The president added that “Spain is a wasted cause and we don’t want to do any business with them”, instructing Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on the spot to halt commerce with Spain.
“I don’t want to do any trade with them, alright?” Trump said, turning to Bessent, who replied: “Yes, sir.” Trump then added, “Take care of it immediately. Don’t even talk to them. They’re hopeless. They’re bad people … They make so much money with us, and we’re going to see that they make a lot less.”
According to Reuters, the office of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez dismissed the remarks as “business as usual”, saying it had no intention of changing Spain’s “excellent” relationship with Washington. - Trump on Wednesday said the U.S. needs to control Greenland “for the protection of the world.”
- His comments come shortly after Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen pledged to defend “every inch” of NATO, including its own territory.

ANKARA, Turkey — U.S. President Donald Trump took aim at his NATO partners at a summit in Turkey on Wednesday, saying he was unhappy with the alliance for pushing back against his efforts to take control of Greenland and for not supporting his war in Iran. …
Trump reopened old wounds as he arrived at the meeting of 32 NATO leaders by insisting again that the United States should control Greenland, a semiautonomous Danish territory. He blasted some European countries for refusing to participate in the Iran campaign, singling out Spain as “a terrible partner in NATO” and renewing his threats to cut off trade.
Ahead of the summit, Trump said Greenland “is very important” for the U.S. but not for Denmark, declaring, “We need it for protection of the world, not just the United States.”
But Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said her country is “ready to defend every inch of NATO including our own territory” in the event of an attack, and would rely on NATO allies to honor their commitment to defend each other.
“We hope that all, including all allies, will respect the Greenland people’s right for self-determination,” Frederiksen said ahead of the summit. “Greenland is of course not for sale.”

Donald Trump has greatly offended the Europeans on this matter. This is another unintended consequence of Donald Trump’s statements.
His threats are greatly concerning the Europeans who are more and more concluding that they should not rely on the USA–but develop themselves into a massive military power. Military successes by Europe are prophesied in Revelation 13:1-4 and Daniel 11:39-43..

Donald Trump’s foreign policy statements have unsettled many—in the USA as well as foreign nations. He is believed by many to be more unpredictable than Richard Nixon. Many have rightly pointed out that he often acts as a bully.
Greenland
There is also something referred to as the “law of unintended consequences.” There are consequences for the USA, Europe, and elsewhere that have and will occur because of Donald Trump’s statements and actions.
Consider, for one example, that after his reelection, Donald Trump stated that the United States needed to have Greenland for defense and economic purposes. Not only did that offend the governments of Denmark and Greenland, the Danish government then announced that it would greatly increase the amount of money it would spend on the defense of Greenland.[i]
On January 7, 2025, Donald Trump refused to rule out military or economic actions to acquire Greenland.[ii] The next day, European leaders warned they would not tolerate an attack on Greenland and that the continent of Europe was strong.[iii] … One longer term consequence of Donald Trump’s rhetoric may be that the Europeans could decide that Greenland would be a useful place to conduct surveillance on the US and Canada.
Additionally, it is also possible that Greenland could be used as a base to 1) interfere with US military satellite communications, 2) possibly neutralize some US military moves in Greenland, or even 3) a place to also launch an attack against the US, Canada, and/or even the UK. The Bible teaches about a great power who will be destroyed by its friends, who become enemies (Lamentations 1:1-2)—some statements by Donald Trump are pushing “friends” (NATO allies) into being enemies. …
The USA will be attacked by “friends” consistent with the following:
1 How lonely sits the city
That was full of people!How like a widow is she,
Who was great among the nations!The princess among the provinces Has become a slave!
2 She weeps bitterly in the night,
Her tears are on her cheeks;
Among all her lovers
She has none to comfort her.All her friends have dealt treacherously with her;
They have become her enemies. cf. Lamentations 1:1-2).Notice the one who was “great among the nations” will be conquered by friends, who will become enemies.
The USA was prophesied to be “great” in Genesis 48:19 and is considered by international sources to be great among the nations of the world today.[v]

Yes, the Bible teaches about a great power who will be destroyed by its friends, who become enemies (Lamentations 1:1-2). Donald Trump offending the Europeans is leading to that.
Europe had basically no military interest in Greenland before Donald Trump.
Now, it has put troops there and looks like it will use or build military bases there.
It also wants to deal with trade matters as Donald Trump.
And prophetically, a more militarized Greenland could play a role in the prophesied destruction of the United States (cf. Daniel 11:39; Isaiah 10:5-11).
But, Donald Trump does not seem to know much about biblical prophecies, and there will be many negative unintended consequences of his statements and actions.

There are bills being promoted by US politicians in both the US Senate and the US House of Representatives to have the USA leave NATO alliance by 2027. There is also the new National Security Strategy report from the Trump Administration which looks to change NATO. Europe is offended, but is preparing for this to take place. How so? By taking economic (expanding trade relations) and military (by increased spending and added troops) steps. And it is the military preparations by Europe that should most concern the United States. Dr. Thiel points out how the fragmented state of the European Union will lead to the reorganization of Europe (Revelation 17:12-13) which will ultimately bring about the rise of the prophesied King of the North (Daniel 11:39-43). Could a blitzkrieg type of an attack under the guise of a NATO-type exercise lead to the conquering of the USA? Scriptures quoted by Dr. Thiel point out that when this reorganization of Europe takes place, the destruction and enslavement of the United States of America, the nation with the strongest fortresses, is not far behind. Daniel 8:23 tells us this King of the North understands “sinister schemes”. Could one of those sinister schemes be the destruction of the United States? Are there other scriptures that confirm this destruction? Who is Assyria? Who is Samaria? Who is Ephraim? The answer is surprising but makes clear many scriptures that were sealed until the time of the end.
