Russian President Vladimir Putin has admitted some sectors of the Russian economy are suffering due to sanctions and political pressure, which he referred to as the “economic, financial and technological aggression of the West,” but remained bullish on building new ties with Asia.

Putin made the comments in a landmark speech at the Eastern Economic Forum in the far east city of Vladivostok on Wednesday.

“Other challenges of a global nature that threaten the whole world have replaced the pandemic,” the Russian president said.

“I am speaking of the West’s sanctions fever, with its brazen, aggressive attempt to impose models of behavior on other countries, to deprive them of their sovereignty and subordinate them to their will.” …

Russia is the world’s largest natural gas exporter, and the second-largest oil exporter after Saudi Arabia.

Putin said Russia would renege on energy contracts if the Group of Seven (G7) countries imposed a price cap on Russian oil, threatening to cut the flow of gas to Europe.

“Will there be any political decisions that contradict the contracts? Yes, we just won’t fulfil them. We will not supply anything at all if it contradicts our interests,” Putin said. “We will not supply gas, oil, coal, heating oil — we will not supply anything.”

Hours after Putin’s comments, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen told reporters: “We will propose a price cap on Russian gas… We must cut Russia’s revenues which Putin uses to finance this atrocious war in Ukraine.”

Putin outlines new geopolitical order

Putin used his speech to lay out a new vision for global cooperation following the February invasion of Ukraine — one in which Iran and other Middle Eastern countries could play a leading role.

“Western countries are striving to maintain a former world order that is beneficial only to them, to force everyone to live according to the infamous rules that they themselves invented and regularly violate, rules they are constantly changing for themselves depending on the current circumstances,” the Russian president said.

‘Let them come to their senses’: Russia will ‘freeze’ European countries that impose a ‘stupid’ oil price cap, Putin warns

Russian President Vladimir Putin responded by saying the price cap is a “stupid” idea.

Russia will simply “freeze” European countries if Western nations impose a price cap on Russian oil, Putin said at an economic forum in Vladivostok on Wednesday, arguing that it will simply drive up worldwide energy prices and deprive Europe of the energy it sorely needs. Countries that import Russian energy “are in no position to dictate their will. Let them come to their senses,” he said.

Putin says West’s sanctions fever wrecks European lives

Vladimir Putin has condemned Western sanctions imposed because of Russia’s war in Ukraine as a fever that poses a threat to the entire world.

In a speech to an economic forum in Vladivostok, he said Russia was coping with the West’s economic “aggression”.

But the Russian president warned the quality of life for Europeans was being sacrificed to sanctions while poorer countries were losing access to food. …

Mr Putin told his audience the West was trying to impose its behaviour on other countries. Many companies had rushed to leave Russia, he said, but “now we are seeing how production and jobs in Europe are closing one after another”. …

President Putin said confidence in the dollar, euro and pound was being lost before people’s eyes. Germany’s Economic Minister Warned Of Unrest If Russian Gas Is Immediately Cut Off

Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck confirmed Russian assessments that Germany’s immediate cutoff of that country’s gas would provoke unrest in heart of that European leader. He revealed in an interview that “An immediate embargo on [Russian natural] gas would threaten social peace in Germany”, though such a scenario is indeed seriously being considered due to the immense pressure being put upon the EU by its American overlords as of late.

Another contributing factor is the bloc’s reluctance to comply with President Putin’s geo-economic judo move late last month that newly designed unfriendly countries such as EU’s members pay for gas with rubles.

All of this goes to show just how fundamentally Russia’s ongoing special military operation in Ukraine changed the geostrategic situation in Europe. Prior to the onset of that campaign, the bloc was already experiencing massive unrest driven by its population’s refusal to continue complying with what many of them regarded as the politically motivated epidemiological policies imposed by their governments. Now, however, Germany might descend into an even more intense crisis in the event that the US successfully pressures it to immediately cutoff imports of Russian gas. This prediction that was just made by none other than its own Minister for Economic Affairs should lead to a rethinking of Russia’s assessment.

It would be difficult for the German populace if Germany stopped all imports of oil and natural gas from Russia. This would also be harmful to the German economy as energy costs for its industry would rise and reduce German competitiveness.

On Monday mass demonstrations erupted in Leipzig against the high energy prices organised by the Left party and Alternative for Germany (AfD). ….

The AfD further called on the government to stop the sanctions war, which is leading to a sharp increase in prices.

Over the weekend, Xinhua News Agency reported that an estimated 70 000 people participated in a demonstration on Wenceslas Square in the capital Prague, waving the slogan “Czech Republic First”. …

French economist Charles Gave criticised French President Emmanuel Macron for his failure in resolving the country’s energy crisis.

“The French pay huge prices just because Germany depends on Russian gas. This is crazy and the wrath of the people is increasing,” said Gave.

Expect to see civil unrest elsewhere in Europe including Germany–where two political parties are supporting protests.

Jesus warned:

5… “Take heed that no one deceives you. 6 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and will deceive many. 7 But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet. 8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows. (Mark 13:5-8)

Wars and rumors of wars, combined with “troubles” points to civil unrest.

As many passages of scriptures point to a dictatorial leader rising up in Europe promising peace (see several listed in yesterday’s post SN: Energy Crisis Economist: Europeans Are “Mad With Anger And it Will Worsen”), we know that will happen.

Although the Bible warns against the coming King of the North, Babylonian Beast power, there are several Greco-Roman Catholic private prophecies tell of a time of civil war in Europe–but instead of turning to God, the Europeans turn to a leader that sounds like the one the Bible warns will arise. Notice that the first one considers civil war is a major sign and the third one suggests problem beginning in Germany:

Desmond Birch (20th century): Civil war breaks out in France and Italy at almost the same time. This is the sign given by many prophets that the Chastisement has begun.. (DA. Paris will look like a slaughter-house. Persecutions against the Church will be even greater, but it will not last long…Many bishops and priest will be put to death. The archbishop of Paris will be murdered…At this juncture, the French people will turn back to God and implore the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary Immaculate…The French people will ask for the good King, he who was chosen by God. He will come, this saviour whom God has spared for France, this King who is not wanted now because he is dear to God’s Heart. Brother Louis Rocco (19th century): Terrible wars will rage all over Europe…Russia will witness many outrages. Great cities and small towns alike will be destroyed in a bloody revolution… (Dupont, p.76)

Brother Louis Rocco (19th century): All over Europe there will rage terrible civil wars…The German sections of Austria will join Germany, so will also the commercial cities of Belgium and Switzerland. A Catholic descendant of a German imperial house will rule a united Germany with peace, prosperity and great power, for God will be with this sovereign (the Great Monarch?)…A Great Monarch will arise after a period of terrible wars and persecutions in Europe. He will be a Catholic; he will not be a German (Culleton, p. 195).

Priest Lavinsky (died 1708): The world will be harassed by civil wars…the Cross, to the astonishment of all, will shine in double splendor through many lands because of the great ruler (Connor Edward. Prophecy for Today. Imprimatur + A.J. Willinger, Bishop of Monterey-Fresno; Reprint: Tan Books and Publishers, Rockford (IL), 1984, pp.36-37).

John of the Cleft Rock (1340): The White Eagle (Great Monarch), by order of the Archangel Michael, will drive crescent from Europe where none but Christians will remain–he himself will rule from Constantinople. An era of peace and prosperity will begin for the world. There will no longer be Protestants {there were no “Protestants” then and author Connor of that book suggests that perhaps this word should have been translated as heretics} or schismatics…God will raise up a holy Pope (Connor, pp. 33-34)

Venerable Bartholomew Holzhauser (died 1658):…”When everything has been ruined by war; when Catholics are hard pressed by traitorous co-religionists and heretics; when the Church and her servants are denied their rights, the monarchies have been abolished and their rulers murdered…then the hand of Almighty God will work a marvelous change, something apparently impossible according to human understanding. There will rise a valiant monarch anointed by God. He will be a Catholic, a descendant of Louis IX, (yet) a descendant of an ancient imperial German family, born in exile. He will rule supreme in temporal matters. (Connor, pp.35-36)

Priest Nectou S.J. (d. 1772): They indeed shall conspire for the destruction of the Church; but the time shall not be allowed them, because this frightful crisis shall be for a short duration. When all will be considered lost, all shall be found safe…The triumph of the Church will then be so complete that nothing like it shall ever be seen…A man disliked by France will be placed on the throne…(Culleton, p. 176; cf. Dupont, p. 48).

Presuming civil war/riots/civil unrest do occur in various parts of Europe on a larger scale, this will set the stage for the rising up of a military leader promising peace and security to resolve this. Greco-Roman Catholic prophecies specifically teach this will happen and they tend to refer to this leader as the “Great Monarch” (or the “Great King”). Of course, Greco-Roman Catholic prophecies also have certain contradictions–but many are consistent with biblical prophecy–some of the Greco-Roman Catholic prophecies appear to be part of Satan’s Plan to deceive people at the end so that they will believe them OVER biblical prophecies. I would add that the belief that those in France (as shown above) will turn to “Mary” is not good, but is also consistent with certain biblical warnings (Isaiah 47; Revelation 17; 2 Thessalonians 2:8-12) as well as other Catholic prophecies as detailed in my book Fatima Shock!

It should be noted that presuming there is major civil unrest across Europe, this would seem to indicate that the final King of the North would rise up fairly soon, consistent with biblical prophecies in both the Book of Daniel and Revelation.

The Bible warns of a coming European kingdom that will be partially strong, partially weak, and with a fragile unity (Daniel 2:41-43), but that will have a frightening type of economic dominance (see Revelation chapters 13,17,18).

The more conflict we see in Europe, the closer we are getting to some of the deals that the Bible prophesies.

Despite what many in the West feel about Vladimir Putin, there are costs to sanctions and Europe is being affected by them.
