Dangers of AI have remained in the news. Some are overstated, some impossible, and some are real.
Society is more and more at risk with software related attacks:
Second Wave Of Cyberattacks Paralyze Supermarket Fridges Across EU, Weeks After Gov’ts Urged Food Stockpiling

Cyberattacks disrupted supermarket refrigeration systems across Sweden, Belgium, Luxembourg, Ireland and Estonia on Monday morning, forcing retailers to discard spoiled food and exposing the last mile of the food supply chain to major disruptions. The cyberattacks came just weeks after governments urged households to maintain emergency food supplies.
Reuters reports that supermarket chains Ahold Delhaize and Colruyt reported cyberattacks affecting critical refrigeration systems in Belgium and Luxembourg. Carrefour said 15 Belgian stores were impacted, while Irish wholesaler Musgrave said refrigeration systems at 13 SuperValu locations were affected.
“There has been a cyberattack and all our freezers reached 50 degrees (Celsius),” Engla Ingwall, sales manager at an ICA franchise store in Stockholm, told the outlet. Ingwall said the attack occurred around 0200 local time. …
Let’s not forget the cyber incidents came weeks after governments in Europe, the US, and Australia urged folks to stockpile food. I reported about the earlier refrigeration attacks yesterday (see EuroNews: Cyberattack hits supermarket fridges and freezers in Europe; COGwriter: The Beast will claim his mark will provide safety).
But there are potentially more deadly attacks associated with software–and that is having Artificial Intelligence being used to create biological weapons. Deutsche Welle put out the following warning:

Biological weapons are prohibited under international law. But new developments in biotech and AI are a cause for concern. DW addresses some of the most important questions about their history, risks, and control.
Artificial intelligence could potentially be misused to develop biological weapons. This may sound like science fiction, but scientists, security services, and international organizations are all looking at how to deal with this scenario.
Pathogens can be analyzed and altered with ever greater precision thanks to ongoing developments in biotechnology. Meanwhile, AI is able to evaluate vast quantities of data at astonishing speeds. As a result, experts are warning that, in the long term, modern technologies could also be misused to develop biological weapons.
Security services are concerned. In October 2026, Ken McCallum, head of the British domestic intelligence service MI5, warned that artificial intelligence could increase the risk from existing, or new, biological weapons – including from non-state actors.
Fine line between valid research and misuse
A report by the American AI company Anthropic in September 2026 highlights the topicality of the debate. Anthropic said it had identified and blocked numerous attempts to use its AI assistant Claude in connection with possible biological weapon research. The report said these attempts included grant applications for so-called “gain-of-function” research, as well as projects to research avian influenza variants that were potentially the most transmissible to mammals.
At the same time, Anthropic stressed that, although it could have a military application, such research could also relate to medical prevention. Let me add that supposedly peaceful “gain of function” research is believed to have resulted in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Of course, even without AI, humans have been working on developing new viruses, etc. for decades.
And, as it turns out, it is usually not difficult to turn biological pathogens into weapons.
Jesus Himself warned that the “signs” of the end of the age would include pestilences:
7…And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. (Matthew 24:7-8)
11 And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. (Luke 21:11)
Biological warfare agents certainly can be a factor in pestilences.
Furthermore, in the sixth chapter of the Book of Revelation, the ride of four horsemen are described. The passages about the fourth horseman are as follows:
7 When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come and see.” 8 So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth. (Revelation 6:7-8)
So, the opening of the fourth seal is the time that the pale horse of death is apparently increasing death by war, hunger, and pestilences (the beasts of the earth).
Could humans intentionally cause some of that?
Certainly.
Bio-engineered warfare has long been a threat and warned about from Church of God writers (e.g. McNair R. The Doomsday Bug. Plain Truth, August 1969).

While all humanity will not be killed by AI (cf. Matthew 24:21-22) like some have speculated (see Former Anthropic researcher warns that Artificial Intelligence ‘could kill us all.’ While that is not biblically possible . . .), pestilences will come. Plus there are other AI risks.
One is that AI programs will be able to break into financial and other systems and perhaps drain money from accounts. As finance has become more digital, that is a major economic threat. That is a greater threat than changing temperatures of refrigerators.

Since the Bible prophesies a coming mark of the beast, might this be a claimed benefit to get more to accept the mark, which the Bible warns against? Does the Bible’s Book of Revelation Bible, which was written nearly 2,000 years ago, support the view that AI and other technologies would be around in our rime? Could AI be used to enforce 666? Biological pathogens developed by humans are a real threat. And with AI involvement, it can be faster and perhaps much worse.
And as Anthropic has reported, some are using AI to develop dangerous biological pathogens.
Things will NOT stay as they have been.
