While Militants Threaten Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, Egypt’s Morsi Warns Israel About Gaza

In addition to other incursions, Israeli cities like Tel Aviv are under attack.  And while Israel tries to deal with the problems in Gaza, Egypt’s President Dr. Mohamed Morsi sent Israel a warning today.  Here are some news reports:

16 November 2012

Egypt’s prime minister rushed to the aid of the Gaza Strip’s Hamas rulers Friday in the midst of an Israeli offensive there, calling for an end to the operation, as Palestinian rocket squads aimed at Tel Aviv for a second straight day.Sirens wailed across Israel’s main metropolis sending people running for cover moments before an explosion was heard, but police said the rocket appeared to have fallen into the sea.

Both the Israeli military and militants in the Gaza strip continued relentless air strikes Friday as Israeli troops, tanks and armored personnel carriers massed near the Palestinian territory.  http://www.foxnews.com/world/2012/11/16/war-looms-over-gaza-as-signs-mount-possible-israeli-invasion/

Morsi warns Israel will pay heavy price

Egyptian president sharpens his ton against Israel, threatening: ‘If I see the homeland in danger, I won’t hesitate to take unusual steps.’ He vows that his country will ‘stop this brutal aggression’…

According to Morsi, “The blood spilled over there will not get the other side peace and will serve as a curse on them. It will incite all the people of the region against them.”  http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4306732,00.html

That last statement is consistent with something I have believe and written about for some time.  It is virtually certain that because Israel will ultimately take various strong military actions it will say are to defend itself, the resulting devastation to one or more of its Islam-dominated enemies will be a factor in the raising up of the King of the South in Bible prophecy (Daniel 11:40-43; Ezekiel 30:1-9).
.
Israel is in a tough spot as it feels it cannot allow its cities to be attacked and not respond, while also realizing that responding is upsetting Egypt and others in at least the Islamic world.  Syria and Iran may ultimately try to take advantage of this and escalate matters against Israel hoping that 1) they will be successfully able to do this with relatively little damage–a likely mistake on their part (cf. Isaiah 17:1 for Damascus, Syria’s capital) and 2) hoping that the Islamic world would fully support them–another likely mistake (though there would be likely support from Hamas, Hezbollah, and some others).  But such moves would likely convince more in the Arab world that they should unite in some form of Islamic confederation (cf. Ezekiel 30:1-9).
.
The Muslim Brotherhood itself does not want Israel to exist, and Dr. Morsi is a long-time member of the group. Israel knows that the goal of the Muslim Brotherhood is basically to have all lands that were once under Muslim domination to be so again.  Hamas is an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood.
.
While Dr. Morsi likely wants US financial aid and is not bent on an immediate war with Israel, the reality is that he also wants to maintain his position and expand Muslim influence–he likely cares very little about what Israel wants or needs.

When Dr. Morsi was responsible for the website of the Muslim Brotherhood, it had an article posted that said (and the article is still up as of today):

What is the Muslim Brotherhood?…

“The Islamic nation,” its charter states, “must be fully prepared to fight the tyrants and the enemies of Allah as a prelude to establishing an Islamic state”—ideally a re-established caliphate, stretching from Spain across the Middle East and Central Asia to Indonesia, to be governed according to Islamic sharia law…

What is its stance toward Israel and the U.S.?
Unremittingly negative.

Anyway, the final Islamic Caliphate will not end up with Spain if I understand certain aspects of Bible prophecy correctly, but the confederation of the final King of the South may go from around Western Sahara and/or Mauritania to the tip of the Arab Peninsula and perhaps extending to Afghanistan, with possible coordination with Pakistan and/or Indonesia. (plus or minus)–and it wants Israel (though the Europeans will likely control at least parts of it eventually).

The Muslim Brotherhood was originally established in Egypt (though some claim the UK is where it originally came from) and seems to have the most adherents currently there (though it has branches in most of the Arab nations, if not all of them) and has made major political inroads in Egypt (as well as Gaza, Syria, Libya, Tunisia, Morocco, and elsewhere).

Bible prophecy (Daniel 11:40-43; Ezekiel 30:1-9) suggests that something like what the Muslim Brotherhood wants will form. And this is not something enough in Israel realize will happen.  And comments from Egypt’s President today are consistent with what will happen.
