The majority of Canadian MPs have voted to pass a Liberal bill that will allow the criminalization of religious expression and belief when quoting parts of the Bible, including about homosexuality and gender.
Early Wednesday evening, MPs from the Liberal Party and the Bloc Québécois, in a 186–137 vote, passed Bill C-9, known as the “Combatting Hate Act.” Conservatives, NDP, and Green Party MPs voted against the bill in a rare form of unity among the usually opposing parties.
The bill now heads to Canada’s rubber-stamp Senate for review.
A last-minute effort by the Conservatives to change the wording of the bill failed to pass. …
Campaign Life Coalition (CLC) blasted the passage of Bill C-9 and called upon “Christians and pro-life advocates to prepare for increasing hostility.”
“With the passage of Bill C-9 in the House, Christians and pro-life advocates will almost certainly face an entirely new level of hostility, as the door swings open to actual persecution under a cloak of supposed legality,” said CLC’s Campaigns Manager David Cooke, who is also a Christian pastor.
Cooke said the Bill C-9 was framed as a law going after “hate,” but, in reality, it is a bill that religious leaders from various faith communities “say could lead to hate-related charges against believers—empowers ideologically-driven police officers and judges to target, for the first time, the very word of God on matters of life, family, and faith.”
“We must prepare for the battle ahead,” said Cooke, adding Canadians must “commit” to the “One who has won the ultimate victory over every foe, demonstrated by His resurrection on that first Easter morning.”

A hatred for the Bible
In October, Liberal MP Marc Miller said that some passages in the Bible were “hateful” for what they said about homosexuality and that those who recited them should be jailed.
“There are clearly instances in these texts where these statements are hateful,” Miller said. “They should not be used as an invocation or defense,” he added, immediately sparking a wave of protests from conservatives across Canada. (Reading the Bible could become hate speech in Canada!)
Quoting the Bible in public has been an issue in Canada for some time and it is implied that various ones do not want people to read or believe it.
Sadly, Canada does not accept the Bible and has long been pushing restrictions. Since a court decision in 2002, Canada has restricted freedom to quote and cite the Bible (watch Canadian censoring of the Bible). It also passed a motion limiting giving one’s view of Islam (http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-03-24/canada-passes-blasphemy-bill-silence-critics-islam).
The Bible warns:
20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes,
And prudent in their own sight! (Isaiah 5:20-21)
Sadly, calling evil good and good evil is what many political leaders in Canada–and elsewhere–have been doing.

The David School District in Utah has removed the KJV version of the Bible from its libraries because it claims it is full of vulgarity and violence. The person who originated this claimed said that the King James Bible “has no serious value for minors.” Should children be able read what is in the Bible? What does the Book of Deuteronomy teach? Have other school districts in the USA also removed the Bible? What about the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States and its claim of freedom of the press, freedom of speech, and freedom of religion? Notice a generational warning from two books of the Bible:

Sarah Mullally is now the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury, the first woman to hold that position. The Church of England was founded in 1534, but the installation ceremony in Canterbury dates back more than 1,400 years.
In addition to serving as senior bishop and the symbolic leader of the Church of England, Archbishop Mullally also becomes the most prominent figure in the worldwide Anglican Communion, which includes Episcopalians in the U.S.
All told, the Anglican Communion includes around 85 million people in 160 countries.
