CM: ‘Pachamama’ Monstrance in Mexico

COGwriter

The Roman Catholic claiming Church Militant reported the following:

‘Pachamama’ Monstrance in Mexico

A Catholic priest in Mexico recently used what appears to be a Pachamama image as a monstrance holding the Eucharist.

On Facebook, Fr. José Luis González Santoscoy posted photos on June 28 of the effigy of a seemingly nude pregnant woman bearing the Eucharist in her womb. The monstrance was used at St. Juan Macias parish in Zapopan during a retreat for young people. (Zapopan is a suburb of Guadalajara, Mexico’s third-largest city.)

Pachamama is a “mother earth” goddess from the indigenous peoples of the Andes mountains; it has no ties to Mexico.

Following outcry, Fr. González deleted the photos from his social media account and has limited public comment on his posts. According to media reports, he refused to comment but claimed he had discussed the issue “with my bishop, with my authorities.” …

Paganism: Making a Comeback

Controversy has swirled around Pachamama since Oct. 4, 2019, when Catholic clergy joined in an indigenous ritual organized by the Pan-Amazonian Ecclesial Network (REPAM) and the Catholic Movement for Climate in the Vatican Gardens during the Pan-Amazonian Conference. Worshippers danced around the Pachamama idol as shamans offered prayers and incense. Pope Francis greeted the participants and approvingly observed the wooden figurines.

While some identified the pregnant figurine as Our Lady of the Amazon or the virgin mother of Christ, it was later identified as the Pachamama. It was also displayed on the altar at the Santa Maria in Transpontina church in Rome, along with other representations of Andean and Amazonian religion.

In October 2019, two men threw the Pachamama idols into the Tiber. Pope Francis claimed the statues were “without idolatrous intentions” and begged forgiveness for their dumping into the river. While he did not place the idol on the altar during the final Mass of the conference as was feared, a smoking bowl of incense associated with Pachamama was placed there — in violation of canonical norms.

The figure of Pachamama reappeared during a December 2019 Christmas concert at the Vatican sponsored by the Congregation for Catholic Education. At the event, a woman dressed in Amazonian garb invoked “Mother Earth, Hicha Gueia,” and coaxed priests and prelates present to cross their arms over their chests in reverence for the deity. 07/08/21 https://www.churchmilitant.com/news/article/pachamama-returns-in-mexico

In this context, a monstrance is an open or transparent receptacle in which a Roman Catholic consecrated Host is exposed for veneration. The fact that the priest said that what he had done was approved by his supervising bishop, shows that he felt that the Vatican would have approved of what he did.

Pope Francis has long pushed for interfaith unity and has a history of attempting to appeal to those of non-biblical faiths by using their symbols somehow with his religion.

Back in his December 2019 newsletter, Mike Gendron had the following:

Vatican’s Obsession with Pagan Deities and Idols

The Vatican’s obsession with pagan idols and statues of goddesses is causing a growing controversy among Catholic clergy. Carved images of a naked pregnant Amazonian woman became symbols of controversy during the recent Amazon Synod of Catholic bishops. A video of the ceremony shows Francis blessing the statue of the naked goddess before receiving it as a gift from Amazonian clergy.

This has cause some disgruntled Catholics to issue a formal protest. More than 100 distinguished Catholic clergy and scholars from across the world have issued a formal protest by signing a petition. The protest condemns the “sacrilegious and superstitious acts” of the “successor of St. Peter.” The signatories declared, “We respectfully ask Pope Francis to repent publicly and unambiguously of these objectively grave sins and of all the public offenses that he has committed against God and the true religion, and to make reparation for these offenses.” The pope responded with what has been described as a rebuke to his critics. He said: “When you talk badly about someone you destroy them. The tongue is a fearsome weapon – gossip kills, slander kills, but the jealousy and the envy of the one destroyed the other.” Cardinal Muller warned the pope that hundreds of thousands will leave the church because of this.

There is another controversy brewing over a pagan idol that was placed at the entrance of Rome’s Colosseum nine days before the Amazon Synod began. The statue is a reconstruction of the wicked deity Moloch, who was associated with human sacrifice and worshipped in pagan religions. Some Catholics are distressed that the pagan god Moloch has been erected at the entrance to the Colosseum, where Christians were tortured and executed for the entertainment of the pagan crowds. What makes this even more shocking is that the Colosseum is owned and controlled by the Vatican.

Related to that Amazonian synod and pagan female images, we put out the following video on our Bible News Prophecy YouTube channel:

Vatican’s Babylonian Amazonian Religion

In front of Pope Francis, on October 4, 2019, the Vatican hosted an Amazonian tree-planting ceremony in where people bowed down to a circle around to semi-naked pagan female images. Vatican News promoted this. Some Catholics are concerned that the Amazonian synod is leading to two Catholic faiths: the traditional one and one that is being called the “Amazonian Religion.” The Vatican has also been promoting an interfaith agenda with the Jews and Muslims with the “Higher Committee of Human Fraternity,” and its first major project, the “Abrahamid Family House” (which is set to open in 2022). Are these good things for Christians? WIll they lead to the rise of Babylonian Beast and Antichrist power? What does the Bible warn about this? Do both the Bible and certain Catholic writings show that the Church of Rome will be betrayed by powers it will align with? Is some type of one world religion being worked on? If so, is the Vatican, World Council of Churches, certain Muslims, and the United Nations involved? Dr. Thiel addresses these issues and more.

The Continuing Church of God (CCOG) also put out the following video on our Bible News Prophecy YouTube channel:

An Amazonian synod was held in the Vatican in October 2019 that featured naked female statues called Pachamama. On October 31, 2019, the Vatican announced that Pope Francis declared a new ‘holiday’ for the Black Madonna known as the Lady of Loreto. This is to observed by those who follow that on December 10th each year. What are “Black Madonnas” vs. “black Madonnas”? Are there ties between Black Madonnas and black female “Mother Earth” goddesses? Could the promotion of Black Madonnas and Pachamamas be related to steps towards a one world religion? Did a Catholic archbishop state that Pope Francis is moving “towards an Indistinct Universal religion” and a “worldwide and stateless Pantheon? Should real Christians be part of this? Dr. Thiel addresses these issues and more.

Here is a link to our video: Pachamama: Pope Francis declares Black Madonna holiday.

Getting back to paganistic symbols, notice the “Chrislam Cross” that was used to promote an interfaith conference in 2019 included a Muslim symbol.

‘Chrislam Cross’ (Vatican News)

We put together a related video related to the signing of an agreement between the Church of Rome, some of its daughters, and some in Islam:

Pope Francis signs ‘one world religion’ document!

On February 4, 2019, at the ‘ Global Conference on Human Fraternity,’ Pope Francis and leading Sunni Imam Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb signed a document that some suspect may lead towards a “one world religion.” The World Council of Churches (WCC) General Secretary, Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, who also attended, pushed for religious leaders and institutions to push towards a particular cooperative agenda to help bring world peace. Will there be real peace or just a temporary one? Will destruction come to the USA and nations in the Middle East and North Africa? What will be some characteristics of this “one world religion’? Will all have the same religious practices? Might it have commonalities with the ancient Roman Empire? The Grand Mosque in the UAE was renamed “Mary, Mother of Jesus.” Will Catholic, Islamic, and even Hindu reverence for Marian figures play a role? Is that part of the plan? Should real Christians support the interfaith and ecumenical agendas or remain separate from them? What does the Bible teach? What did Jesus teach? Dr. Thiel addresses these issues and more.

Here is a link to that video: Pope Francis signs ‘one world religion’ document!

And related to symbols and the interfaith agenda, we also put together a video related to the Chrislam Cross and the interfaith movement:

20:30
What is Chrislam? What are the two forms of it? Did the Vatican unveil the Chrislam Cross? How does it look? Are Christianity and Islam theologically compatible? What does the ‘Catechism of the Catholic Church’ say? What about the Bible and the Quran? Did Pope Francis and Sunni Imam Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb sign an important interfaith document on February 4, 2019? Do biblical and Islamic prophecies point to a deal between the Europeans and Arabs that will be broken? Do Catholic and Islamic writings support the view that Mary and/or apparitions of ‘Mary’ may lead to temporary cooperation between the Arabs and Europeans? Will such cooperation bring lasting peace or war? Have any of the Eastern Orthodox warned of the danger in using ‘Mary’ to push the interfaith and ecumenical movements? Is there a ‘Mary, Mother of Jesus mosque? Should you wish to be part of the Chrislam movement? What does the Bible teach? Dr. Thiel addresses these issues and more.

Here is a link to the sermonette video: The Chrislam Cross and the Interfaith Movement.

While I do not expect this Chrislam cross symbol nor Pachamama to be the Mark of the Beast, the Chrislam type of cross is reminiscent of the claimed cross in Emperor Constantine’s vision in the fourth century. It was described as:

A long spear, overlaid with gold, formed the figure of the cross by means of a transverse bar laid over it. (Eusebius. Life of Constantine, Chapter XXXI. Internet Medieval Source Book. Accessed 02/14/19)

So, it was not what would have been the implement used to kill Jesus. Nor is the ‘Chrislam cross.’

Pope Francis is attempting to push his interfaith agenda in whatever ways he can.

And the Church of Rome clearly is using symbols that should be considered as pagan.

Yet, more and more of the world is falling for it.

The Bible warns:

14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said:

“I will dwell in them
And walk among them.
I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.”

17 Therefore

“Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you. 18 ‘I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.” (2 Corinthians 6:14-18)

If that is not strong enough language to discourage real Christians from Chrislam and pagan goddesses, perhaps the following will get even professors of Christ to consider it as a problem:

4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. (James 4:4)

1 One of the seven angels that had the seven bowls came to speak to me, and said, ‘Come here and I will show you the punishment of the great prostitute who is enthroned beside abundant waters, 2 with whom all the kings of the earth have prostituted themselves, and who has made all the population of the world drunk with the wine of her adultery.’ 3 He took me in spirit to a desert, and there I saw a woman riding a scarlet beast which had seven heads and ten horns and had blasphemous titles written all over it. 4 The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet and glittered with gold and jewels and pearls, and she was holding a gold winecup filled with the disgusting filth of her prostitution; 5 on her forehead was written a name, a cryptic name: ‘Babylon the Great, the mother of all the prostitutes and all the filthy practices on the earth.’ 6 I saw that she was drunk, drunk with the blood of the saints, and the blood of the martyrs of Jesus; and when I saw her, I was completely mystified. (Revelation 17:1-6, NJB)

9 ‘This calls for shrewdness. The seven heads are the seven hills, on which the woman is sitting…18 The woman you saw is the great city which has authority over all the rulers on earth.’ (Revelation 17:9,18, NJB)

The Church of Rome keeps pushing an interfaith movement that the Bible warns against. Pagan symbols are clearly part of it.

Although it is a fact that early Christians did not use monstrances, crosses, or pagan deities as part of their worship, the Church of Rome does.
