Rome’s Rejection of the Christian Faith

It is outrageous that so many of our evangelical leaders continue to promote unity with the apostate Roman Catholic Church. Rather than identify it as a huge mission field of 1.3 billion precious souls, they embrace it as a Christian denomination made up of brothers and sisters in Christ. Tragically, their fallacious position discourages their followers from evangelizing Catholics. We must set the record straight! Catholics need to be evangelized because their religion has rejected the Christian faith.
Rome Rejects the Supremacy of God’s Word
God has exalted His name and His Word above all things (Ps. 138:2). “All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness” (2 Tim. 3:16). Those who reject or dismiss God’s Word as their supreme authority fall into serious error and peril. Rome has done this by elevating its ungodly traditions, which have evolved over 1600 years, to be equal in authority with Scripture. Rome teaches that “Sacred Tradition and Sacred Scripture make up a single sacred deposit of the Word of God.”
Rome Rejects the Sufficiency of God’s Son
Jesus is sufficient to save sinners completely by the offering of Himself once, for all sin, for all time (Heb. 7:25-27; 10:10; 14, 18). His blood is sufficient to purify every believer from every sin. His death is sufficient to cancel the eternal sin debt of every believer (Col. 2:14; 1 John 1:7). Rome rejects the sufficiency of Christ by continuing the work of redemption through the sacrifice of the Mass, and by promoting the fable of purgatory and the sacerdotal priesthood.

Yes, many evangelicals are moving closer to Rome. But as the original Christian faith did not resemble Protestantism as well as certain prophecies, this is not really a surprise. Those who truly believe the Bible may wish to read the free online book: Hope of Salvation: How the Continuing Church of God Differs from Protestantism.

More on the beliefs early Christians had, many of which differ from those held by Roman Catholics can be found in the free online book: Beliefs of the Original Catholic Church.

It is not just the Protestants that the Vatican has interest in. Notice the following:

Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue Praises Buddha And Calls For A ‘Universal Solidarity’ Between Catholic Church And All Religions

The Roman Catholic Church for the past 17 centuries since their creation in 325 AD has always taught that they were the ‘one true church’, and that the Roman Catholic sacraments offered the only path to salvation. Yet here in 2021, you have Pope Francis and the Roman Catholic Church embracing the teachings of other religions like Buddhism, and calling for the religions of the world to come together in a ‘universal solidarity’. Welcome to the One World Religion of Chrislam. 05/30/21

The above article then shows a letter from the Vatican:

PONTIFICAL COUNCIL FOR INTERRELIGIOUS DIALOGUE

Buddhists and Christians:
Promoting a Culture of Care and Solidarity

MESSAGE FOR THE FEAST OF VESAKH 2021

Dear Buddhist Friends,

1. On behalf of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, I am writing to you on the occasion of the feast of Vesakh to offer my heartfelt greetings. It is my prayer that this annual feast of the birth, enlightenment, and passing away of Gautama Buddha may bring joy, serenity, and hope to the hearts of Buddhists throughout the world.

2. The current world situation, tragically marked by the COVID-19 pandemic, challenges the followers of all religions to collaborate in new ways at the service of the human community. In his Encyclical Fratelli tutti, signed in Assisi on 3 October 2020, Pope Francis reiterated the urgency of a universal solidarity that allows humanity to overcome together the difficult crises that threaten it, because “no one is saved alone” (Pope Francis, Fratelli tutti, 32).

3. The Vesak greetings, of which we celebrated the 25th anniversary last year, have highlighted many of the values we hold in common and the wisdom that supports the collaboration we foster, especially in addressing times as hard as the present one. The suffering caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has made us aware of our shared vulnerability and interdependence. We are called to discover and practice the solidarity enshrined in our respective religious traditions. As Pope Francis says, “ancient stories, full of symbolism, bear witness to a conviction which we today share, that everything is interconnected, and that genuine care for our own lives and our relationship with nature is inseparable from fraternity, justice and faithfulness to others.” (Pope Francis, Message for the World Day of Peace, 1 January 2021).

4. The Buddhist teaching on Brahma Viharas (Four Heavenly Abodes or Virtues) offers us a timeless message of solidarity and active care.  In speaking about mettā (loving kindness), it exhorts followers to extend boundless love to all. “As a mother even with her life protects her only child, so let one cultivate immeasurable loving-kindness towards all living beings” (Mettā Sutta). As the Buddha taught, practitioners are equally encouraged to “make haste in doing good deeds; one should restrain one’s mind from evil; for the mind of one who is slow in doing good tends to take delight in doing evil” (Dhammapada, 116).

5. May this dramatic situation of the COVID-19 pandemic strengthen our bonds of friendship and further unite us in service to the human family, adopting “a culture of dialogue as the path, mutual cooperation as the code of conduct; reciprocal understanding as the method and standard” (Pope Francis, Fratelli tutti, 285).

6. Dear Buddhist friends, these are the thoughts that I wish to share with you this year. Let us look forward to the future with hope and serenity. Happy Feast! source

Vesakh Day celebrates the life and ‘enlightment’ of Buddha. This is not something a Christian church should do.

Buddha’s ‘enlightened message’ was something to the effect that all problems are caused by desire, and if you can eliminate desire you can solve all problems.

That is not biblical.

The message of the Bible is that improper desire causes sin, and the solution is to repent and accept the sacrifice of Jesus for the forgiveness of sins (cf. Acts 2:38).

Buddhism does not understand that or the plan of God. More on God’s plan, including comments about Buddhism, can be found in the free online book: The MYSTERY of GOD’s PLAN: Why Did God Create Anything? Why Did God Make You?

The interfaith movement is going forward, and for a time, many religions of the world will tolerate it (Revelation 13:1-10).

Even Islam will tolerate it (but that will end–cf. Daniel 11:40-43).

As far as the Vatican and pushing the interfaith movement goes, a while back we put together a video related to the signing in Abu Dhabi of an interfaith document:

15:31

Pope Francis signs ‘one world religion’ document!

On February 4, 2019, at the ‘ Global Conference on Human Fraternity,’ Pope Francis and leading Sunni Imam Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb signed a document that some suspect may lead towards a “one world religion.” The World Council of Churches (WCC) General Secretary, Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, who also attended, pushed for religious leaders and institutions to push towards a particular cooperative agenda to help bring world peace. Will there be real peace or just a temporary one? Will destruction come to the USA and nations in the Middle East and North Africa? What will be some characteristics of this “one world religion’? Will all have the same religious practices? Might it have commonalities with the ancient Roman Empire? The Grand Mosque in the UAE was renamed “Mary, Mother of Jesus.” Will Catholic, Islamic, and even Hindu reverence for Marian figures play a role? Is that part of the plan? Should real Christians support the interfaith and ecumenical agendas or remain separate from them? What does the Bible teach? What did Jesus teach? Dr. Thiel addresses these issues and more.

Here is a link to that video: Pope Francis signs ‘one world religion’ document!

The Bible warns:

14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said:

“I will dwell in them
And walk among them.
I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.”

17 Therefore

“Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you. 18 ‘I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.” (2 Corinthians 6:14-18)

If that is not strong enough language to discourage real Christians from Buddhism, Chrislam, and and other aspects of paganism, perhaps the following will get even professors of Christ to consider it as a problem:

4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. (James 4:4)

1 One of the seven angels that had the seven bowls came to speak to me, and said, ‘Come here and I will show you the punishment of the great prostitute who is enthroned beside abundant waters, 2 with whom all the kings of the earth have prostituted themselves, and who has made all the population of the world drunk with the wine of her adultery.’ 3 He took me in spirit to a desert, and there I saw a woman riding a scarlet beast which had seven heads and ten horns and had blasphemous titles written all over it. 4 The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet and glittered with gold and jewels and pearls, and she was holding a gold winecup filled with the disgusting filth of her prostitution; 5 on her forehead was written a name, a cryptic name: ‘Babylon the Great, the mother of all the prostitutes and all the filthy practices on the earth.’ 6 I saw that she was drunk, drunk with the blood of the saints, and the blood of the martyrs of Jesus; and when I saw her, I was completely mystified. (Revelation 17:1-6, NJB)

9 ‘This calls for shrewdness. The seven heads are the seven hills, on which the woman is sitting…18 The woman you saw is the great city which has authority over all the rulers on earth.’ (Revelation 17:9,18, NJB)

We also put together a related video related to the Chrislam Cross and the interfaith movement:

20:30
What is Chrislam? What are the two forms of it? Did the Vatican unveil the Chrislam Cross? How does it look? Are Christianity and Islam theologically compatible? What does the ‘Catechism of the Catholic Church’ say? What about the Bible and the Quran? Did Pope Francis and Sunni Imam Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb sign an important interfaith document on February 4, 2019? Do biblical and Islamic prophecies point to a deal between the Europeans and Arabs that will be broken? Do Catholic and Islamic writings support the view that Mary and/or apparitions of ‘Mary’ may lead to temporary cooperation between the Arabs and Europeans? Will such cooperation bring lasting peace or war? Have any of the Eastern Orthodox warned of the danger in using ‘Mary’ to push the interfaith and ecumenical movements? Is there a ‘Mary, Mother of Jesus mosque? Should you wish to be part of the Chrislam movement? What does the Bible teach? Dr. Thiel addresses these issues and more.

The World Council of Churches (WCC), United Nations, and various others are involved in this interfaith movement as well (see Pope and Muslim leader sign interfaith agreement towards a one world religion: Will this lead to both peace and the Great Tribulation?).

This United Nations’ interfaith agenda is supposed to be fully implemented by 2030 and is also called the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It aims to solve ailments facing humanity through regulation, education, and international and interfaith cooperation. While many of its objectives are good, some of its methods and goals are evil (cf. Genesis 3:5).

Jesus warned:

4 … Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. (Matthew 24:4-5)

The Book of Revelation tells of the rider of a white horse:

1 Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, “Come and see.” 2 And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer. (Revelation 6:1-2)

The rider of this white horse is NOT Jesus, but one pushing a false religious unity that is opposed to the Bible. People will believe this is a good thing and will bring peace–those without sufficient love of the truth will fall for it (2 Thessalonians 2:9)–particularly when they see supernatural/demonic signs and lying wonders (2 Thessalonians 2:9).

Now, the interfaith religion that is being pushed now by the Vatican is one that allows differences in practice. That makes it more acceptable to the world.

Similar to the old Roman Empire, a time is coming when people will be able to have their own religious practices as long as they will acknowledge and worship the Beast emperor. Related to the Beast of the Sea emperor (called the King of the North in Daniel 11:40) the Bible says:

8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. (Revelation 13:8)

Notice that it does not say that the entire world will have all the same practices.

What the Vatican is promoting is consistent with that.

Of course, true Christianity and other religions are not compatible. Yet the Vatican, various pagans, many Protestants, some Buddhists, and even some within Islam keep pushing for it.

It will not end well.

Those who believe the word of God must be:

4 … Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. (Revelation 18:4-5)

Do not allow yourself to be caught up with the interfaith agenda and what will be coming.
