“I will break the pride of your power” (Leviticus 26:19)

Are budget cuts likely to break the strength of the USA’s military?  Its top military official publicly says so:

Washington: The outgoing Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff pulled no punches during his last week on the job, saying today that the across-the-board defense cuts under the so-called “doomsday” scenario will break the military.

For the first time, Adm. Mike Mullen said this afternoon that if the Super Committee set up by the White House is forced to cut any more from national security coffers, the military simply would not survive.”If you took a trillion dollars out of defense right now, that would break us,” Mullen said during a speech to defense industry leaders in Washington today. So far, the Obama administration has committed to cuts of $450 billion over the next 10 years, including $315 billion mandated by the Budget Control Act that Congress passed in July to avert a national default. This has been expected.

The Bible warns about the pride of power to be broken (Leviticus 26:19)–and I have long reported that this includes military power and the US dollar.  And while most people consider both of those to be strong today, they will not remain that way.  Additionally, agricultural production is another one of the USA’s prides.  It too will be broken and I strongly believe that weather problems and pestilences, as well as specifically problems associated with its GMO–genetically-modified organisms–crops will be involved in the USA’s downfall.  Food shortages are coming soon and are part of the sorrows that precede the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:4-8,21).

Why will all this happen?

Because of sin:

4 ‘But if you do not obey Me, and do not observe all these commandments,
15 and if you despise My statutes, or if your soul abhors My judgments, so that you do not perform all My commandments, but break My covenant,
16 I also will do this to you:
I will even appoint terror over you, wasting disease and fever which shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart.
And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.
17 I will set My face against you, and you shall be defeated by your enemies.
Those who hate you shall reign over you, and you shall flee when no one pursues you.

18 ‘And after all this, if you do not obey Me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.
19 I will break the pride of your power;
I will make your heavens like iron and your earth like bronze.
20 And your strength shall be spent in vain;
for your land shall not yield its produce, nor shall the trees of the land yield their fruit.  (Leviticus 26:14-20)

Debt is weakening the USA.  Pests are starting to develop ways to destroy GMO crops (Pestilence Issues and Genetically-Modified Corn).  Terrors have already hit the USA.  And this has resulted in massive losses of freedom and privacy, as well as the fact that airport security personnel now pretty much treat passengers as potential terrorists.

But the USA is becoming less able to afford this and other forms of “security.”

Cuts in the USA’s military budget, combined with new technologies being developed in Europe (see Large Hadron Collider may result in military applications, CERN’s Large Hadron Collider Particles Faster than the Speed of Light?, and Galileo to Start to Launch Next Month, the Beginning of Europe Rising?), as well as increased militarization by Russia and China will ultimately prove to show that the USA will NOT have all of the strongest fortresses in the world, though it will apparently seem so until it and its Anglo-allies are destroyed (Daniel 11:39).

To win a war against the USA, Europe, for example, does not have to have the best military in the world for waging any and every type of war (which long has seemed to be the USA’s objective).  Instead, all it needs to do is to figure out weaknesses in the USA’s defenses in relationship to itself.  Furthermore, since Europe is an ally of the USA, it will have the dual advantage of knowing more about the USA’s actual capabilities and weaknesses, as well as the element of surprise, when it does in fact attack.  Which will happen sometime after the final King of the North will rise up (Daniel 11:27-39).

Those of you have followed COGwriter for long enough probably realize that world events have thus far aligned with at least 17 biblically-based predictions in my book 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect.  The most directly relevant today is that in 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect I warned that, “Because of domestic economic concerns and international pressures, Barack Obama is shifting priorities away from defense spending… This will help lead to the destruction of the United States, when the Europeans are ready and the U.S.A. is not.”

Lest any of this be seen a partisan attack by me, let me state that I am not a Republican nor Democrat.  Furthermore, I suspect that because of the pledges that many Congressional Republicans have signed against tax increases that it seems likely that further defense cuts will appeal to them more than tax raising alternatives.  While we will all see how this plays out, the reality is that the USA will not be as far ahead of the rest of the world’s militaries as it has been the past couple of decades.

National repentance is the only real long-term hope for the USA and the other Anglo-nations (and it seems to be too late for that, but personal repentance is still possible), There are carnal solutions that the Anglo-nations could do now that could help extend the situation, but too many of their leaders have rejected God and have the type of “reprobate mind” that prevents them from seeing even those “convenient” options (cf. Romans 1:18-32, KJV).

According to Bible prophecy, the end of the Anglo-dominance of the world is coming (Jeremiah 30:7; Daniel 11:39), and the final age of the Gentiles (Luke 21:20-24; Daniel 11:39) will be here in a relatively few years. And there are likely to be a lot more troubles (Mark 13:8) before it gets even worse (Mark 13:19-20).

The CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) may have found something both interesting and profound:

Puzzling results from Cern, home of the LHC, have confounded physicists – because it appears subatomic particles have exceeded the speed of light.  Neutrinos sent through the ground from Cern toward the Gran Sasso laboratory 732km away seemed to show up a tiny fraction of a second early.

A report will soon be online to draw closer scrutiny to a result that, if true, would upend a century of physics…

“My dream would be that another, independent experiment finds the same thing – then I would be relieved,” Dr Ereditato said. The CERN project continues to advance, and is apparently the biggest physics project in the world–and of course, it is a European, not American, project. Large physics projects tend to produce military weaponry.  Now if the Large Hadron Collider does have military potential, which I have long indicated that it does, all should understand that it is likely that the Europeans and not the Americans will benefit from it:

So, whatever technologies are spun-off from this project are expected to primarily benefit the Europeans and not the Americans.

The Large Hadron Collider is discussed as one of the items that may provide the Europeans with the ability to overcome the USA’s military might.  And while many think that this would be impossible, as the Europeans continue to uncover “impossible” aspects of physics, it is getting more and more technology that could be developed in that direction.

The understanding of the Living Church of God that the Europeans will be able to attack and takeover the United States and its Anglo-descended allies (cf. Isaiah 10:5-11; Daniel 11:39) is correct and will come to pass. And it still appears, to me at least, possible that the successes of the CERN LHC may assist in the fulfillment of those prophecies.

At his speech as the United Nations yesterday, US President Barack Obama said the following:

The Bible does not support the type of homosexual rights agenda that the US president is telling the world to adopt.

There were other societies that have had their own issues of openly advocating sins that their residents seemed to view as acceptable. Notice what happened in a couple of such towns between three thousand and four thousand years ago:

24 Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the Lord out of the heavens. 25 So He overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. (Genesis 19:24-25)

And why did it happen?

7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. (Jude 7)

Why mention this in the 21st century? Because God turned:

6…the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly (2 Peter 2:6,
NKJV)

Thus, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah were to serve as an example to those who would live as they did. The USA, which has lots of Bibles, should know this–but refuses to wish to truly retain God in its knowledge.

Of course, not everyone in Sodom and Gomorrah were homosexuals as those that strictly practice that could not reproduce. Yet, notice that the destruction that hit their cities destroyed all that were there and notice that something like this is to happen again according to Jesus:

26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27 They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; 29 but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. (Luke 17:26-29)

The US president can pretend that increasing “homosexual rights” is acceptable, but the Bible suggests otherwise.

The following passage, written nearly two thousand years ago, essentially predicts resurgences of amorality, plus explains why this happens:

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man — and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. (Romans 1:18-32)

Many of those in the top governmental positions in the West do not wish to retain the word of God in their knowledge and endorse evolution instead of creation as the origin of life, so it is little wonder that increasing societal acceptance of sin is occurring. Also notice that God warned that many would “also approve of those who practice” various forms of sin. This is what more and more government leaders, like US President Obama are doing.

National repentance is the only real long-term hope for the USA (and it seems to be too late for that), the political leadership in the USA has largely ignored that approach. The carnal “solutions” offered and agreed to by both political parties in the USA will not get it back on track economically. Its economy may appear to do better for a while, but in the long run, the USA does not have real solutions to its economic woes. There are carnal solutions that the USA could do now (mainly related to energy production and tariffs) that could help extend the situation, but too many of its leaders have rejected God and have the type of “reprobate mind” that prevents them from seeing even those “convenient” options (cf. Romans 1:18-32, KJV).  The debate I have heard from some politicians and pundits on the USA economy strongly suggests to me, at least, that many do not understand production, economics, job-creation, nor the Bible.

Few seem to tie the national legalization of abortions in the U.S.A. in 1973, the increased legalizations of homosexual marriages (e.g. NY Approves ‘Homosexual Marriage’ Law, but Does Not See the Handwriting on the Wall), and the Obama Administration’s decision to want to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act (see Obama Announces He Wants to Repeal Defense of Marriage Act and Increase Debt) as important factors in what is happening.  But all of those, as well as the promotion of violence in the U.S.A. (including certain sports), as well as other sins, are factors behind what is happening.

Chapter 8 of my book 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect is titled Barack Obama, Islam, and the End of America. In that chapter I wrote that Barack Obama would cause people to err per Isaiah 3:12 & 9:16, not encourage people to repent of sins,  but instead have policies that are focused on not relying on God.  Sadly, he is doing so.

Keeping the Ten Commandments reflects love. Breaking them and/or condoning those that do is evil. This should be clear to those who believe the God of the Bible.

The Muslim Brotherhood is gaining influence in the Islamic world:

Said told Newsmax the Muslim Brotherhood remains the most active political party and that many Egyptians fear it will dominate the elections if they take place this fall. Many Egyptians want to see democracy flourish.

Members of the Muslim Brotherhood have been involved in the current revolution since it began in February, and group members generally say they want a state governed by Islamic law and institutions.

One of the most prominent members of the Muslim Brotherhood is Amin Belhaj, who also belongs to the Transitional National Council, the group that is currently running the country.

Belhaj says Islam should pervade every aspect of Libyan society, especially its government.

Though I do not believe that it will end up with Spain, the geographic hopes of its founder and many current supporters exceeds what most in the West would tend to think of.  A caliphate from Morocco to Indonesia would be huge.  Even one from Morocco to Iraq would be large.  Some in the Islamic world believe that the caliphate is only a step in the ultimate goal of conquering the entire world for Islam (though Bible prophecy shows that this will not happen per Daniel 11:40-43).

Here is some of what the official English-language website of the Muslim Brotherhood teaches about its history and some of its goals:

Al-Banna was chiefly responsible for formulating the policies of this association…the idea of universal muslim state was constantly implied due to the association’s focus on Islam. While strongly disapproving of local brands of Nationalism, particularly if they were Western-inspired and secularly-minded, Banna developed his vision of Pan-Islamic Nationalism, insisting that Islam and Nationalism were complementary, especially when the latter operated within the parameter of the Islamic truth, since, for the Muslim Brethren, Islam was of course both religion and state. Here we need to analyze what was the basic concept from which Hassan al-Banna initiated to establish such Islamic organization. Then we would also explore his thought of the causes of descend of Islamic society particularly in Egypt. However, his effort and works deserved great consideration of Islamic society in the revolution to the revival of Islamic state (Caliphate)…The Muslim Brethren…believe that the caliphate is a symbol of Islamic Union and an indication of the bonds between the nations of Islam. They see the caliphate and its re-establishment as a top priority, subsequently; an association of Muslims people should be set up, which would elect the imam“.

Why keep covering the rise of the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood?

There are at least two: its goals will impact the world and its objectives seem necessary to fulfill certain biblical prophecies.

Pro-democracy Westerners need to realize that if given a real vote, a high percentage of Arabs will support less secular, more Islamic, candidates with agendas similar to those of the Muslim Brotherhood.  Many in the Islamic world long for greater influence and suspect that the way to get it is to support groups that want more Islamic influence.

Of course, there are supranational Islamic groups like the Taliban, Al Qaeda and even Hamas.  Yet, historically, they have had too many issues to bring about pan-Arabic unity.  Additionally, have tended to be considered too radical for many Arabs.  The Muslim Brotherhood, which was formed in Egypt in 1928, has tended to be considered “moderate” compared to those other groups and represents hope for many with Islamic aspirations.  And it wants as its top priority a pan-national Islamic caliphate ruled by an Imam (a religious leader).  Many Muslims long for the rising up of a leader called the 12th Imam, often referred to as the Imam Mahdi (who some believe has been alive for centuries).

We in the Living Church of God have long taught that a pan-Islamic leader will rise up in the Middle East and become the final King of the South in Bible prophecy (Daniel 11:40).

The virtual “tsunami” of Middle East and North African nations overthrowing their secular rulers is coming along day by day even as I write. This—as we have explained—could clear the way for the Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamic extremists to take over much of the Middle East. Such an event would “prepare the way” for the coming “Mahdi”—the Islamist religious/political leader who will no doubt become the biblically prophesied “King of the South” (Daniel 11:40). He will probably lead in the provocation of the “King of the North” described in that same inspired prophecy in Daniel 11. And this will set in motion the final chain of events leading up to “Armageddon,” and then Jesus Christ’s return as King of kings (Revelation 11:15)! (Meredith RC. World events are lining up with LCG’s understanding of biblical prophecy.  The Muslim Brotherhood and/or Islamic groups with similar objectives will accomplish the goal of temporarily having unity among many nations in North Africa and the Middle East as Bible prophecy is calling for that (Daniel 11:40-43; Psalm 83:2-8).

The latest issue (print date September 17, 2011) of The Journal just arrived here electronically moments ago.

Two of the biggest items are related to UCG and COGWA (COGWA is a 2010 split from UCG), some of which have been covered here. The Journal, however, devotes more time to opinions of various players in both groups (most of which were all in UCG for over a decade or so) than the COGwriter page tends to (it also abbreviates COGWA as CGWA, which is not how COGWA now identifies itself).  The front page also mentions CG7’s president speaking at a March 2011 conference.

The front page also reports that The Journal’s editor, Dixon Cartwright, had a heart attack on July 11, 2011 and this is one reason for its somewhat delayed publication.  A lengthy article by John Robinson related to RCG/WCG history also starts there.

Inside, there are also various letters to the editor, a listing of Feast sites, comments on heart health, and various opinions of church and doctrinal matters (like the gifts of the spirit).

In addition to the content of many of the articles and letters to the editor, I remain distressed by many of the paid advertisements in The Journal and do not believe that many should be allowed in a purported Church of God publication.  Though there are many advertisements to object to, let me simply state that the long-term acceptance of unitarian advertisements is not right.

I included the above because I do not report on CGI much as normally there is little to report about them.  LCG also seems to be having evangelical records in Jamaica, yet not just there, however, but also in many parts around the world.

On September 22, 2011, Pope Benedict is be in Germany again.  Some want him to wake up the Germans:

Last Saturday, Germany’s Chancellor indicated something similar and also called for religious unity in her nation (see EU Resembling ‘Holy Roman Empire’ and Religion Urged by Germany).

While a pope will awaken Germany according to certain biblical and non-biblical prophecies and Benedict XVI may have started the process, this “awakening” will likely become much more apparent after Benedict is succeeded by another.  It will likely, however, take signs and wonders (cf. 2 Thessalonians 2:7) for the final awaking to occur (perhaps also including “Marian” apparitions, cf. Isaiah 47:1,12).

Catholic prophecy suggests that major conversions will begin with Germany and Spain and spread under the influence of a Great Ruler (the Great Monarch), who seems to be the same one as the final King of the North in Daniel 11:22-44:

Blessed Joannes Amadeus de Sylva (died 1482): Germany and Spain will unite under a great prince…After much slaughtering, the other nations will be forced to come into this union. There is no hope for the unbelievers until all of Germany is converted; then all will happen quickly…the time will be prolonged until all countries unite under the Great Ruler. After this union, mass conversions will take place…(Connor Edward. Prophecy for Today. Imprimatur + A.J. Until that time, Pope Benedict wants the Germans, and that includes the Lutherans and other Protestants.  He approved a change back in October 2009 that has made conversion of Protestant churches (particularly Anglican, but also others) to be part of Roman Catholic Church easier. He has also made many making positive overtures towards the Orthodox. His goal remains ecumenical unity under the Vatican for all he can get.

While many in the Church of Rome wish ecumenical unity with others and Germany to embrace that faith, Biblical, Catholic, and Orthodox prophecies seem to have parts that warn against such ecumenical unity (though some Catholic/Orthodox prophecies look forward to it).

The latest edition of the United Church of God (UCG) publication The Good News arrived last night.  Its cover article was on 2012.  Here is some of what that article stated:

Why has Dec. 21, 2012, been selected by many as the day of catastrophe? It is due in large part to calculations on the calendars of the ancient Mayans…Where did the Mayan people receive the religious and cosmological conceptions related to their calendar? They certainly didn’t come from the God of the Bible. In fact, the Mayans practiced abominable religious rites that are strongly condemned in the Bible, such as human sacrifice…

The gods of pagan worship are not real, but the devil and his demons are behind much of false religion—sometimes posing as these false gods. The apostle Paul wrote that “the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons” (1 Corinthians:10:20; compare Leviticus:17:7; Deuteronomy:32:17; Psalm:106:35-38).

What do modern Mayans believe?

While many Westerners seize on Dec. 21, 2012, as a date of unparalleled disaster, modern Mayans generally do not see it that way…Benito Ramirez Mendota, offered this perspective: “As the elders said, everything is going to change. The world will be changed by that memorable date. Our children will have a different world view. The time will have passed and other beings will inhabit the universe” (p. 371). World peace and harmony will not come in 2012…

What about “Planet X”?

The most cataclysmic of prophesied end-time “natural” disasters is the scenario of a collision or near-miss of another planet with the earth. The mysterious orb that supposedly threatens us has been called “Planet X” or “Planet Nibiru,” and some expect it to arrive on Dec. 12, 2012.

But what is the evidence that this will occur? There is no scientific evidence that supports this idea. The idea came “not by radio signals from the cosmos, but [instead has supposedly been] channeled through medium and Zeto envoy Nancy Lieder, who was in contact with . . . altruistic aliens” (Govert Schilling, The Hunt for Planet X, 2009, p. 115)…

What should we expect?

Yes, Dec. 21, 2012, will come and go, Dec. 22 will arrive, and the earth will go on. And so will new theories regarding new exact dates for the end of the world. The cry has been shouted by strident voices for millennia, and you can be sure it will continue.

Sadly, many will take this non-event and other failed predictions as an excuse to dismiss what the Bible foretells is yet ahead.

UCG is essentially correct with what is shown above.

I would add that because the world will not end on December 21, 2012, that many who support New Age concepts will declare that they have been correct all along and that the Mayans really predicted that a new era, with people working toward peace, and that is really what the end of the Mayan long-count calendar meant.  This will help deceive many and may be a partial fulfillment of Bible prophecy (cf. Ezekiel 13:8-22).

On the other end of the spectrum, it would seem that those who believe that the world will end in 2012 will point to various natural (and perhaps economic and other) disasters as proof that the world will end on December 21, 2012.  But it will not.  While we may be in the period that Jesus referred to as “the beginning of sorrows” He said that they, of themselves, were not the end (Matthew 24:6-8)–though troubling (Mark 13:8).

The Bible has laid out a variety of events that have to happen prior to the Great Tribulation and it is not possible that it could possibly begin as early as any date in 2012.

Those who really want to know what is expected to happen in the next several years may wish to consider studying by book 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect.  Which, amongst other things, has two semi-sequential charts of biblically-prophesied events that need to take place.  They show events that must happen before the start of the Great Tribulation as well as a sequence leading to when the biblically-prophesied age of peace will actually come.  And since the Bible is an accurate source of predictions, this explains why world events have already aligned with 16 predictions in the 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect book.

There are still issues in Libya and a report this week suggests that the Obama Administration is leaning more towards the Muslim Brotherhood in Libya:

This is not the first time that the Obama Administration has indicated that it wants to work with the Muslim Brotherhood in the Middle East (see Obama Administration Reaches Out to Muslim Brotherhood), thus its connections to the NTC do not seem to worry it.

Notice a translation of what some, who are part of it, write that the Muslim Brotherhood wants:

…the Islamic Ummah [nation] can regain its power and be liberated and assume its rightful position which was intended by Allah, as the most exalted nation among men, as the leaders of humanity…

He [Hassan al-Banna] felt the grave danger overshadowing the Muslims and the urgent need and obligation which Islam places on every Muslim, man and woman, to act in order to restore the Islamic Caliphate and to reestablish the Islamic State on strong foundations and to liberate the Muslims and defend them from any attack, and to spread the Da’wa (Islamic missionary activity) of Islam in the world and to establish this great religion, which Allah wanted for his servants…

Some think that Shahada (Martyrdom) causes loss and damages the [Muslim Brotherhood] Society, since it has lost influential people in action and Jihad. This is wrong, since the fall of the Shahid (Martyr) for the sake of Da’wa (Islamic missionary activity) is [seen as] provisions and fuel for the [next] generations, and as a symbol of self sacrifice in the way of the Da’wa until realization of the goals which the [Muslim Brotherhood] Society was established for, that is, establishing the State of Islam, headed by the Islamic Caliphate, in order to establish Allah

To bring enough Arab nations together, I have felt that some type of “strongman” needed to rise up. One who Arabs would tend to respect–who might use the title Imam Mahdi and/or Caliph. The time may be now for him to rise up and the Muslim Brotherhood may play an important role. The Muslim Brotherhood is is the world’s oldest and largest Islamic political group and has been called the “world’s most influential Islamist movement” (http://english.aljazeera.net/indepth/2010/11/2010111681527837704.html)–though some new group could also form. Supporting the Muslim Brotherhood basically means supporting a multi-national Islamic power that wants a strong-man leader.

We in the Living Church of God have long taught that a pan-Islamic leader will rise up in the Middle East and become the final King of the South in Bible prophecy (Daniel 11:40).

As far as Barack Obama goes, notice something that I wrote in my book 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect back in 2009:

the Bible predicts that at the appointed time, a King of the North and a King of the South with rise. Various statements that Barack Obama has made suggest that he will implement policies that will likely help lead to the multi-national formations that will ultimately have these kings.

Islamic Prophecy: Barack Obama to Aid the Rise of the King of the South?

According to a commentary by Amir Taheri in Forbes, there is an amazing old Shi’ite prophecy that some in Iran believe seems to fit Barack Hussein Obama personally:

…a pro-government Web site published a Hadith (or tradition) from a Shiite text of the 17th century. The tradition comes from Bahar al-Anvar (meaning Oceans of Light) by Mullah Majlisi, a magnum opus in 132 volumes and the basis of modern Shiite Islam.

According to the tradition, Imam Ali Ibn Abi-Talib (the prophet’s cousin and son-in-law) prophesied that at the End of Times and just before the return of the Mahdi, the Ultimate Saviour, a “tall black man will assume the reins of government in the West.” Commanding “the strongest army on earth,” the new ruler in the West will carry “a clear sign” from the third imam, whose name was Hussein Ibn Ali. The tradition concludes: “Shiites should have no doubt that he is with us.”

In a curious coincidence Obama’s first and second names–Barack Hussein–mean “the blessing of Hussein” in Arabic and Persian. His family name, Obama, written in the Persian alphabet, reads O Ba Ma, which means “he is with us,” the magic formula in Majlisi’s tradition.

Because we are near the end of times and Barack Hussein Obama is considered to be black and he is now the new “ruler in the West” and he does lead the” strongest army on earth”, it makes sense that a lot of Shi’ite Muslims apparently believe that he may fit that Islamic prophecy. Apparently this prediction shows that some type of deal is made between the Mahdi (Arabic for “the guided one”) and the West.

Is any of that specific to Barack Obama?…

The fact that his name also seems to closely fit that prophecy suggests that he may. And while Barack Hussein Obama himself probably does not believe that “he is with us” (as “o bama” apparently means in Persian) refers to him in that prophecy, the fact is that no other U.S.A. president has ever been as close to Muslims as President Obama…

Barack Obama has called for increased dialogue with those considered as enemies of the U.S.A. As mentioned earlier, even some Shi’ite Muslims believe that his presidency may lead to the rise of their Mahdi who seems to be the same person that the Bible calls the King of the South.

Because of various actions and statements it has made, the Obama Administration seems determined to (perhaps inadvertently) help support the rise of the final King of the South.

The Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah

In his latest commentary, Living Church of God’s Dr. Scott Winnail reported the following:

In an immoral society, people know better but reject what they know to be right. Today, increasingly, we are in an “amoral” society—where a people do not even know what is right or wrong (“UK riots: Greedy, amoral, irresponsible… Now who could that be?,” The Guardian, August 14, 2011).

How long will the decay and carnage we now see around the globe continue? Jesus Christ’s disciples once asked, essentially, this. “How can we tell when we near the end of the age and your return?” (Matthew 24:3). Christ listed several “signs” in His response, and said: “Because lawlessness [wickedness] will abound, the love of many will wax cold” (v. 12).

Many of the heinous acts we see today almost defy imagination, and truthfully only occur in society when the “love of many” waxes cold, and large numbers of people lack a moral compass. Ironically, in this “brave new world” of the 21st century, our enlightened, self-absorbed, self-confident, post-modern society is boldly going where society “has gone before.”

Long ago, God gave a prophecy aimed at the modern Israelite-descended nations, noting their moral decay (Jeremiah 2:4). “For they have perverted their way; they have forgotten the Lord their God” (Jeremiah 3:21). And, “You have had a harlot’s forehead; you refuse to be ashamed” (v. 3). God also said, “But this people has a defiant and rebellious heart; they have revolted and departed” (Jeremiah 5:23-24).

Society has rejected the Ten Commandments—the moral code that once supported most of the Western world! Through Paul, God listed more signs of the end of the age, noting that, “in the last days, perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving… despisers of good” (2 Timothy 3:1-5). Does this prophecy begin to fit society today?

Satan the devil—“the god of this age” (2 Corinthians 4:4)—has blinded society! He is angry, and will soon lash out with fury at the people of God as never before (Revelation 12:12). He is like a “roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8). Why is Satan so angry that he deceives the whole world into committing such heinous acts (Revelation 12:9)? Because he knows his days are numbered, and his power will soon be completely removed (v. 12)!

Today’s headlines are just “the beginning of sorrows” (Matthew 24:8). The shocking acts we see in the media will increase in frequency and intensity. But we must not allow our faith to be shaken. God is allowing these events so that mankind will learn that “of himself he can do nothing!” True peace cannot be created by the pride and power of men, apart from God and His laws. So, thankfully, there is an end in sight—after the carnage!

God does have a plan, and it calls for the soon coming return of His Son, the Prince of Peace. With Christ’s return, Satan and his demons will be banished, along with their influence (Revelation 20:1-3). No longer will Satan motivate weak-willed individuals to hurt and destroy others, made in God’s image (Genesis 1:26)!

One day soon, headlines will read very differently, because “God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain…” (Revelation 21:4). There is a new world coming—a moral world that today’s human beings have only imagined, while they have futilely attempted to construct one under their own power. In American news, the military’s Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy on homosexuality came to an end today (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/09/20/national/main20108758.shtml).  Certain liberals and homosexual advocates tend to praise this additional step towards the destruction of the USA (see also Will the Anglo-Nations be Divided and Have People Taken as Slaves?).  Many simply do not know the difference between right and wrong.  Notice that AOL reported today that the end of DADT resulted in celebrations:

As a former member of the US military, I will simply state that based upon my observations unit cohesiveness will be affected by the open acceptance of homosexuals in the military. And that, combined with cuts in weapons programs and likely caps/cuts on aspects of military spending, will weaken the defenses of the USA. This is something that I suggested would happen in my book 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect.

The USA needs national repentance (which it seems to have widely rejected) or it is doomed militarily:

14′But if you do not obey Me, and do not observe all these commandments, 15 and if you despise My statutes, or if your soul abhors My judgments, so that you do not perform all My commandments, but break My covenant, 16 I also will do this to you: I will even appoint terror over you, wasting disease and fever which shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart. And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. 17 I will set My face against you, and you shall be defeated by your enemies. Those who hate you shall reign over you, and you shall flee when no one pursues you (Leviticus 26:14-17).

There were other societies that have had their own issues of openly advocating sins that their residents seemed to view as acceptable.  Notice what happened in a couple of such towns between three thousand and four thousand years ago:

24 Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the Lord out of the heavens. 25 So He overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. (Genesis 19:24-25)

And why did it happen?

7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. (Jude 7)

Why mention this in the 21st century? Because God turned:

6…the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly (2 Peter 2:6,
NKJV)

Thus, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah were to serve as an example to those who would live as they did.  The USA, which has lots of Bibles, should know this–but refuses to wish to truly retain God in its knowledge.

Of course, not everyone in Sodom and Gomorrah were homosexuals as those that strictly practice that could not reproduce. Yet, notice that the destruction that hit their cities destroyed all that were there and notice that something like this is to happen again according to Jesus:

26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27 They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; 29 but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. (Luke 17:26-29)

Americans can pretend that increasing “homosexual rights” is acceptable, but the Bible suggests otherwise.

The following passage, written nearly two thousand years ago, essentially predicts resurgences of amorality, plus explains why this happens:

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man — and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. (Romans 1:18-32)

Many of those in the top governmental positions in the West do not wish to retain the word of God in their knowledge and endorse evolution instead of creation as the origin of life, so it is little wonder that increasing societal acceptance of sin is occurring. Also notice that God warned that many would “also approve of those who practice” various forms of sin. This is what more and more government leaders are doing.

Keeping the Ten Commandments reflects love. Breaking them and/or condoning those that do is evil. This should be clear to those who believe the God of the Bible.

Turkey is hinting of an alliance that may ultimately fulfill Psalm 83:

Turkey Predicts Alliance With Egypt as Regional Anchors

Psalm 83 tells of an alliance amongst the Arabs with Trukey (Edom) that will be joined by Europe (Assyria):

5 For they have consulted together with one consent;
They form a confederacy against You:
6 The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites;
Moab and the Hagrites;
7 Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek;
Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;
8 Assyria also has joined with them;
They have helped the children of Lot. (Psalms 83:5-8)

The descendants of Israel are the subject of Psalm 83 (verses 3-4).  Turkey, who was a long-time ally of the modern nation of Israel, has also been turning against that nation lately (see Turkey Expels Israel’s Ambassador and Suspends All Military Agreements with Israel).

Turkey is also getting a little bit upset with the EU again over Cyprus:

Turkey: We will freeze ties with EU if Cyprus given 2012 presidency

EU-candidate Turkey will freeze relations with the European Union if Cyprus is given the EU presidency in 2012, Deputy Prime Minister Besir Atalay was quoted as saying by the state-run news agency Anatolian late on Saturday.

The comments could signal a new low point in ties between the European Union and Turkey which began accession talks to the bloc in 2005.

Despite the fact that the Bible seems to indicate that Turkey will support the Islamic King of the South for a while, it also suggests that it will then betray it (cf. Daniel 11:26,41), and apparently support the European King of the North (Daniel 11:41). Catholic prophecy seems to support the same concepts (related biblical, Catholic, and Islamic details are in the article The Arab and Islamic World In the Bible, History, and Prophecy).

This public move by Turkey is an interesting development and should ultimately lead to closer cooperation and the fulfilling of prophecies in Daniel 11, Psalm 83, and certain other end-time prophecies.
