I welcome the agreement reached between the US and Iran, following sustained diplomatic efforts by several partners.
The priority now is its swift and full implementation by all parties.
This agreement should allow for the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump Says Hormuz To Reopen Friday After Signing Of “Great Peace Deal” With Iran
June 15, 2026
The timing of the peace deal is critical. The world was approaching a dangerous energy cliff, with strategic petroleum reserves being quickly drained to offset lost Gulf production and stabilize physical markets. Still, even with a deal in place, energy flows through the strategic maritime chokepoint will not normalize overnight.
It will likely take several months, if not quarters, to clear the backlog, restore shipping confidence, de-risk insurance markets, and bring regional production and export flows back to pre-crisis levels. As for damaged energy assets such as those in Qatar, it’ll take years to get production back to pre-war levels. …
Just 30 minutes before futures open in New York, President Trump announced on Truth Social that a “Deal” with Iran is now complete.
“Congratulations to all! I hereby fully authorize the toll-free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and, simultaneously herewith, authorize the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade. Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!” Trump said. …
Pakistan’s prime minister, Shehbaz Sharif, also confirmed: “that the Peace Deal between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran has been REACHED.”
Sharif said, “The official signing ceremony will be on Friday, 19 June in Switzerland.” …
It seems like a deal will really happen this time… finally… given Tehran is boasting of great and solid results for its side. There are reports this includes a significant release of billions in its frozen assets in the West.
via Fars News:
- Recent diplomatic efforts have yielded positive results.
- Recent developments have shown that no country cares more about Iran’s interests than ourselves
- Even if my personal opinion differs, I consider myself obliged to follow the final decision of the system
- Resolution of the Supreme National Security Council is the basis of action, and whatever is approved and deemed appropriate by the Supreme Leader will be mandatory for all of us.
- I regret the neighboring countries being exposed to the consequences of military actions. Our operation targeted the US bases on the soil of these countries.
- Issues and misunderstandings with Gulf countries are being resolved
- Ties with Gulf region countries are on path to improvement.
- Talks do not mean abandoning principles. Iran won’t bow to any kind of bullying or illegal pressure.
- Media reports on war, negotiations do not necessarily reflect Supreme National Security Council views. https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/trump-says-peace-deal-coming-sunday-tehran-signals-still-reviewing-text
So, Iran has, let’s say, mixed feelings about this as at least one major part of its government is not endorsing it as another part will sign it.
While Donald Trump posted, “This Great Deal will bring Peace and Security to the whole Region,” I do not believe that is so. Consider the following prophecy:
3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. (1 Thessalonians 5:3)
While I believe that the above prophecy will have a future fulfillment, it warns us to not blindly accept declarations of peace. This ceasefire is temporal at best related to “Peace and Security.”
RT reports that the government of Israel does not like the deal:
US and Iran agree on peace roadmap to reopen Hormuz, Israel rejects all terms …
Updated 15 June 2026
The US and Iran said they have agreed on a memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the conflict, which began on February 28 with a joint US-Israeli bombing campaign and prompted Tehran to close the Strait of Hormuz to most shipping.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has told US President Donald Trump that Israel does not consider itself bound by the Lebanon-related provisions of the agreement with Iran and will not withdraw its forces from southern Lebanon, according to Ynet. …
- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has called for an end to Israeli military actions in Lebanon, saying during separate phone calls with his Turkish, Iraqi, and Egyptian counterparts that all hostilities must cease.
- Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has said the IDF will not withdraw from southern Lebanon despite the reported terms of the agreement, warning that it will respond “with full force” if Iran attacks over its operations against Hezbollah.
- The EU has welcomed the reported deal, with foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas saying it could create “much-needed space.”
- Oil prices fell sharply on the news, with US WTI crude dropping 4.7% to $80.83 a barrel and Brent crude falling around 4% to $83.77, the lowest levels since March 4, shortly after the US-Israeli operation against Iran began. https://www.rt.com/news/641542-iran-peace-deal-updates/
Israel is in a difficult spot. It may have to support the deal, but with history being any sort of guideline, “violations” of the ceasefire are expected.
Michael Snyder posted the following:
So After Everything That Has Transpired, Now We Go All The Way Back To Square One With Iran
June 14, 2026
There seems to be a tremendous amount of confusion about what has just transpired. The United States and Iran have not agreed to a permanent peace deal. What the United States and Iran have agreed to is a 60 day ceasefire extension and the beginning of a 60 day period of negotiations regarding Iran’s nuclear program. This “memorandum of understanding” essentially puts us into a position that is very similar to where we were just prior to the start of the war. Before the war began traffic through the Strait of Hormuz was flowing normally, there was no U.S. naval blockade, and we were engaged in complicated negotiations regarding Iran’s nuclear program. The “memorandum of understanding” gets us back to that point, but it also gives the Iranians a bonus of having $25,000,000,000 in frozen assets released. So we are all the way back to square one with Iran, the only difference being that now the Iranian regime has access to a whole lot more money. …
Personally, I think that the Iranians are buying time.
They know that elections in Israel and the U.S. will happen before the end of this calendar year, and they are convinced that the outcome of those elections will shift the status quo in their favor.
So they are trying to stretch talks out for as long as possible.
And I think that the Trump administration is desperate to get out of this war and move on to other things.
But no matter how hard the negotiators may try, there isn’t going to be peace in the Middle East. https://endoftheamericandream.com/so-after-everything-that-has-transpired-now-we-go-all-the-way-back-to-square-one-with-iran/
In other words, this is not a real peace deal. However, the Bible shows that a temporary peace deal will come. Daniel was inspired to write the following prophecy:
26 And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
The end of it shall be with a flood,
And till the end of the war desolations are determined.
27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate (Daniel 9:26-27).
The ‘one week’ time element has generally been understood by prophecy watchers to mean a seven year deal (2520 days, based on prophetic 360 day years), that will be broken in the middle of it (after 3 1/2 years). The Hebrew word translated as “week” literally means “sevened” (OT:7620 literal, sevened. Biblesoft’s New Exhaustive Strong’s Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright © 1994, 2003, 2006 Biblesoft, Inc. and International Bible Translators, Inc.).
The ‘with many’ referred to in this passage would seem to indicate that ‘many’ nations, as opposed to one or two, are agreeing to something. Nations such as Jordan and Egypt are likely to be involved as they both have signed peace agreements with Israel in the past.
Notice that the prince is the one who later brings an end to the sacrifices and is involved with the abomination of desolation.
While Daniel 9:26 calls this leader a “prince,” he is later is referred to as the king of a developing European empire (Daniel 11:40; see also King of the North and Europa, the Beast, and the Book of Revelation). Daniel 9:26-27 tie directly in with Daniel 11:
31 And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation. (Daniel 11:31)
The prince who confirmed the deal is the King of the North (cf. Daniel 11:40) when he musters forces, stops sacrifices, and puts in the abomination of desolation. Note, according to Ezra 3:6, as well as statements made to me personally by representatives of the re-constituted Sanhedrin and the Temple Institute in Jerusalem, the Jews do NOT need a massive temple to resume sacrifices–only an altar, which they have, and government permission, which they will one day receive.
One way to show this is a European empire to realize that it was the people of the Roman Empire of the 1st century that fulfilled the portion of Daniel 9:26 as they destroyed the city (Jerusalem) in 70 A.D. Jewish sources, while not understanding all of this, also agree that it was Roman sources that destroyed the city and sanctuary as the following demonstrates:
“The people of the prince will come and destroy the city and the Sanctuary” Daniel 9:26, refers to the Roman legions of Vespasian and Titus, who destroyed Jerusalem. (Daniel 9 – A True Biblical Interpretation. Jews for Judaism. https://jewsforjudaism.org/knowledge/articles/answers/jewish-polemics/texts/daniel-9-a-true-biblical-interpretation/ accessed 07/30/16)
In the 21st century, the European Union includes much of the land and peoples that were part of the ancient Roman Empire. And it is the “prince” coming from that people that verse 27 of Daniel 9 is referring to. Thus, this prophecy tells us that a lower level European leader will somewhat officially start to rise up about 3 1/2 years before the great tribulation (and yes, according to Jesus, some “tribulation” does happen prior to the start of the Great Tribulation). Another is the fact that the “beast of the sea” of Revelation 13:1 fits with the beasts from the “great sea” of Daniel 7:2–and that sea is the Mediterranean Sea according to the Old Testament. Hence a power in Europe the only region that could have an empire geographically like the old Roman one (for more details, please see Europa, the Beast, and the Book of Revelation).
This deal that Donald Trump announced and Ursula von der Leyen praised is NOT the deal of Daniel 9:27. Note that the prophesied deal involves a confirmation by a European prince for a seven-year period. There is no part in this ceasefire arrangement that would qualify and EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is not the “prince” of Daniel 9:26 who is to confirm the deal in Daniel 9:27. For more about the prophesied deal, and why it is believed to be a peace deal of some type, check out the article: The ‘Peace Deal’ of Daniel 9:27.
Furthermore, as I have repeatedly written, I believe that the Bible shows that Iran will lead a confederation that will cause great damage to Jerusalem (Isaiah 22:1-14).
This ceasefire arrangement is, at best, basically a reduction in hostilities that would also help reduce some of the economic issues associated with this war.
