Great peace deal? Israel and Hezbollah continue to attack each other

Are Hezbollah finished?

No, not yet.

Furthermore, Iran is still supporting Hezbollah, and Israel and Hezbollah are still bombing:

IDF launches strikes in southern Lebanon, claiming ceasefire violations

June 29, 2026

The Israel Defense Forces launched strikes on what it described as three Hezbollah command centers in southern Lebanon, saying the attacks were a response to ceasefire violations.

“These strikes came in response to the terror organization Hezbollah’s continued targeting of our forces operating in the security zone,” Avichay Adraee, an IDF spokesperson, said on social media.

The fighting in southern Lebanon between Israel and Hezbollah, a militant group backed by Iran and based in Lebanon, has threatened to throw off track ongoing negotiations between Washington and Tehran. https://abcnews.com/International/live-updates/iran-live-updates/?id=134300648

Hezbollah fires 7,000 rockets at Israel using Lebanese Christians as human shields

June 29, 2026

hile diplomats gathered in Washington for another round of Israel-Lebanon peace talks, the rockets kept flying. Since March 2, 2026, Hezbollah has launched more than 7,000 rockets, missiles, and drones from Lebanese territory into Israeli cities, towns, and communities — a sustained campaign of terror that Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar says the international media has largely ignored.

Speaking on June 24 at the international session of MUNI EXPO in Tel Aviv — a municipal innovation conference attended by governors and mayors from around the world — Sa’ar told the assembled officials, “Since March alone, Hezbollah has launched more than 7,000 rockets, missiles and drones from Lebanese territory into Israel. What country can accept this and not act to restore security to its citizens?”

The number is staggering. At the current pace, that is more than 233 projectiles per day aimed at Israeli civilians — a rate of fire that dwarfs the worst months of rocket terror Israel endured from Gaza. …

Lebanese Christian MP Ghassan Hasbani of the Lebanese Forces party put it plainly: “Hezbollah decided single-handedly to reenter the war triggered by the events in Iran. This is a suicide action by Hezbollah, taking the whole country, the whole of Lebanon, into a regional conflict, into the unknown.” https://israel365news.com/419194/hezbollah-fires-7000-rockets-at-israel-using-lebanese-christians-as-human-shields/

So, the fighting has not stopped. I did not believe that the ‘Great Deal’ Donald Trump touted was going to bring lasting peace to the region. On June 15, 2026, I posted:

While Donald Trump posted, “This Great Deal will bring Peace and Security to the whole Region,” I do not believe that is so. Consider the following prophecy:

3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. (1 Thessalonians 5:3)

While I believe that the above prophecy will have a future fulfillment, it warns us to not blindly accept declarations of peace. This ceasefire is temporal at best related to “Peace and Security.” … In other words, this is not a real peace deal. …

This ceasefire arrangement is, at best, basically a reduction in hostilities that would also help reduce some of the economic issues associated with this war. (Thiel B. Donald Trump and Ursula von der Leyen praise Iran Hormuz deal, Israel not so much: Daniel 9:27? COGwriter, June 15, 2026)

The great deal has not brought peace. Though it again may bring a ceasefire for a time.

However, the Bible shows that a longer, yet temporary, peace deal will come. Daniel was inspired to write the following prophecy:

26 And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
The end of it shall be with a flood,
And till the end of the war desolations are determined.
27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate (Daniel 9:26-27).

The ‘one week’ time element has generally been understood by prophecy watchers to mean a seven year deal (2520 days, based on prophetic 360 day years), that will be broken in the middle of it (after 3 1/2 years). The Hebrew word translated as “week” literally means “sevened” (OT:7620 literal, sevened. Biblesoft’s New Exhaustive Strong’s Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright © 1994, 2003, 2006 Biblesoft, Inc. and International Bible Translators, Inc.).

But we are NOT close to that deal, yet.

Related to Hezbollah’s and Iran’s possibly future plans, last Fall Michael Snyder posted the following:

Watch The Middle East! Israel, Iran And Hezbollah Are All Preparing For Something Really Big

November 6, 2025

If there is going to be “peace in the Middle East”, why are Israel, Iran and Hezbollah feverishly preparing for war?  I am watching the Middle East very closely, because I expect something really big to happen.  In fact, just hours ago the IDF conducted major airstrikes in Lebanon.  Meanwhile, the Iranians are stockpiling missiles like never before. The clock is ticking, and the Middle East could potentially erupt in flames at any moment.

A lot of people out there seem to think that Hezbollah has been totally defeated.

But of course that is not the case at all.

It is still very formidable, and it is being reported that Hezbollah is “working on rebuilding the Radwan Force and retrieving weapons from its bunkers”…

In response, Israeli officials have developed a plan that involves “wide-scale assassinations of senior Hezbollah commanders and strikes on key positions deep inside Lebanon”

The Israeli army has intensified military preparations along the northern front, amid growing indications that Israel is preparing for a major confrontation with Hezbollah, according to reports from Israeli media.

Army Radio cited informed sources as saying that the anticipated operation will involve wide-scale assassinations of senior Hezbollah commanders and strikes on key positions deep inside Lebanon. The sources added that the operation could be launched “at any moment,” depending on developments along the border.

The reports suggest Israel aims to neutralize Hezbollah’s leadership and infrastructure, even as a fragile ceasefire remains officially in place.

Of course we can now see this plan in action. …

There is no point in pretending.

Israel and Hezbollah are at war again.

Hezbollah is ruling out any negotiations, and they are warning that they will fight to defend their interests

While all of this has been going on, the Iranians have also been preparing for another round of fighting.

Iran has been feverishly stockpiling missiles, and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is claiming that his nation’s missile forces are now “far greater than during the 12-day war”

“The Islamic Republic’s approach was to rely on domestically produced military equipment, and the result was that those who initially demanded unconditional surrender ended up accepting an unconditional ceasefire on the 12th day…International relations are based on power. We must be strong, and the armed forces have gone above and beyond in this regard. Our missile power today is far greater than during the 12-day war.”

I don’t think that he is exaggerating. …

We are supposed to believe that the Iranian nuclear program has been set back for a long time and is no longer an imminent threat.

I am not buying that. …

Sadly, I expect war to continue to be a major theme in 2026, and that is not good news for any of us. https://endoftheamericandream.com/watch-the-middle-east-israel-iran-and-hezbollah-are-all-preparing-for-something-really-big/

Hezbollah has long been angry with Israel–and has also wanted revenge since Israel hit many with its terroristic pager explosives in 2024 (see Reuters: Hezbollah vows to punish Israel after pager explosions across Lebanon; MS: Middle East Apocalypse: Israel Is Preparing For An “All-Out Confrontation With Hezbollah” In The Near Future).

Iran is also angry with Israel.

It remains my belief that Hezbollah and Iran will one day reign a volley of bombs on Israel beyond what they have already done. Those in Jerusalem, and not just in the northern portion of Israel, should be concerned. I also believe that at least some in Syria will become more directly involved against Israel.

The Bible shows that God will allow the nation of Israel to be hit as shown in the Israel Bible translation:

5 For my Lord God of Hosts had a day Of tumult and din and confusion— Kir raged in the Valley of Vision, And Shoa on the hill; 6 While Elam bore the quiver In troops of mounted men, And Kir bared the shield— 7 And your choicest lowlands Were filled with chariots and horsemen: They stormed at Yehuda‘s* gateway.

8 And pressed beyond its screen. You gave thought on that day To the arms in the Forest House, 9 And you took note of the many breaches In the City of David. And you collected the water of the Lower Pool; 10 and you counted the houses of Yerushalayim and pulled houses down to fortify the wall; and you constructed a basin between the two walls for the water of the old pool. But you gave no thought to Him who planned it, You took no note of Him who designed it long before. (Isaiah 22:5-10)

Yehuda above means Judah, which is the modern nation called Israel. And Yerushalayim is commonly known as Jerusalem.

The old Worldwide Church of God published the following related to Elam:

Iranians comprise nearly 70 percent of the country. Iranians, though Islamic, are totally distinct from the neighboring Arab peoples of the Middle East. They are a mixed people of the remnants of Media and Elam and other ancestors of Semitic and Hamitic stock. (Stump K. South Asia in Prophecy. Plain Truth, July/August 1986, p. 5)

Let me add that, according to the late Dr. Hoeh of the old Radio/Worldwide Church of God:

Madai is the father of the Medes. The Medes used to be associated with the Persians. You will read about them especially in the book of Daniel. But by the time of Nehemiah the Persians were much more prominent. Today there are no Medes left in Persia. (Hoeh H. The TRUTH about the Race Question! Plain Truth, July 1957)

Persia, the modern Iran, (Hoeh H. Compendium of World History – Volume 2. 1969)

Hence, this seems to support more being from Elam than Media in Iran.

Kir looks to include Syrians and others in the region. For example, the Bible tells that after Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria took over Damascus, he moved Syrians to Kir. While this does not mean that Kir must (or must only) be a reference to Syria, the fact that Syria is an ally of Iran is interesting. Some believe Kir is an area in the south of Iran (which could then include some in Iraq), while others suggest closer to the Black Sea (which Turkey borders). God’s word has the expression “the Syrians from Kir” (Amos 9:7), which is basically confirmation that Kir of Isaiah 22 would include Syrians. The prophecy that “Kir uncovered the shield” suggests that Syria will have somehow reduced the effectiveness of Israel’s ‘Iron Dome’ and/or other defensive equipment the nation of Israel will use.

The “House of the Forest” was anciently located in Lebanon (e.g. 1 Kings 7:2, 10:17,21; 2 Chronicles 9:16,20)–see also A Discourse on the House of the Forest of Lebanon, pp: 111-134 in Bunyan J. Stebbing H. The Entire Works of John Bunyan, Volume 4. Virtue and Company, 1860.

Here is the Catholic Public Domain Version translation of Isaiah 22:8:

8 And the covering of Judah will be exposed, and in that day, you will see the weaponry of the forest house. (Isaiah 22:8, CPDV)

A way for Judah to “see the weaponry of the forest house” would be a massive attack by Hezbollah. In Isaiah 22:8, “Judah” is a reference to those in the land commonly called Israel–God will allow Israel to be attacked!

In Isaiah 22:1-14, the Bible shows that God will allow something that appears to be an Iranian-Syrian-Southern Lebanese confederation, to strike the nation of Israel.

In my view, Iran, Hezbollah, and some in Syria are most likely consulting with each other to determine how and when to launch a major attack against Israel.

Israel’s ‘Iron Dome’ and other defenses will not be able to protect Jerusalem against enough of the coming attack to prevent great damage.

Allow me to add that although PCG recently posted a video titled We Were Right About Iran by Gerald Flurry, PCG remains wrong as Iran is NOT about to become the King of the South of biblical prophecies in Daniel 11:40-43.
