The government shutdown is over. But hundreds of thousands of federal workers are coming back after 43 days to anything but normalcy, employees from across the country told CNN.
Flight delays and cancellations will linger as Air Traffic Controllers staff back up. Workers who haven’t received a paycheck in weeks will still have to wait for back pay. Research grants will be delayed. Economic reports are likely to be scrapped. Six weeks of email and voicemails will have to be waded through.
And in three months, they may have to contend with turbulence all over again: The agreement President Donald Trump signed into law Wednesday evening funds most of the government only through January.

What is normal is that the debt of the US government continues to rise.

On November 10, 2025 the official US government debt was (the latest date posted by the US Treasury), was $38,125,731,687,631.03 (https://fiscaldata.treasury.gov/datasets/debt-to-the-penny/debt-to-the-penny)
That is a rise of about $488 billion dollars in less than 6 weeks, with the US government supposedly being shut down.
That is NOT normal and does not bode well for the US.

According to the US Treasury, the debt of the USA as of 01/19/2017 was 19,944,429,217,106.77 (https://treasurydirect.gov/NP/debt/current)–the day before Donald Trump took office the first time.

A nearly $2 trillion increase in less than 10 months.
The USA is also in more debt than any other nation in the history of the world. Historically, Congress has “kicked the can” down the road and never really solved the US debt problem–and that again is what happened in this shut-down reopening deal.
While some feel that Donald Trump might help delay the day of reckoning for the USA (cf. Daniel 4:27), a real reckoning will happen.
How do I know this?
Partially, because the Bible teaches the following:
12…Those who lead you cause you to err, And destroy the way of your paths.” (Isaiah 3:12)
16 For the leaders of this people cause them to err, And those who are led by them are destroyed (Isaiah 9:16).
43 The alien who is among you shall rise higher and higher above you, and you shall come down lower and lower. 44 He shall lend to you, but you shall not lend to him; he shall be the head, and you shall be the tail. 45 Moreover all these curses shall come upon you and pursue and overtake you, until you are destroyed because you did not obey the voice of the LORD your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which He commanded you…47 “Because you did not serve the LORD your God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything, 48 therefore you shall serve your enemies, whom the LORD will send against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in need of everything; and He will put a yoke of iron on your neck until He has destroyed you. 49 The LORD will bring a nation against you from afar, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flies, a nation whose language you will not understand, 50 a nation of fierce countenance, which does not respect the elderly nor show favor to the young. 51 And they shall eat the increase of your livestock and the produce of your land, until you are destroyed; they shall not leave you grain or new wine or oil, or the increase of your cattle or the offspring of your flocks, until they have destroyed you. 52 They shall besiege you at all your gates until your high and fortified walls, in which you trust, come down throughout all your land; and they shall besiege you at all your gates throughout all your land which the LORD your God has given you (Deuteronomy 28:42-45,47-52)
3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry…5 Indeed, because he transgresses by wine, He is a proud man… 6 “Will not all these take up a proverb against him, And a taunting riddle against him, and say, ‘Woe to him who increases What is not his–how long? And to him who loads himself with many pledges’? 7 Will not your creditors rise up suddenly? Will they not awaken who oppress you? And you will become their booty. 8 Because you have plundered many nations, All the remnant of the people shall plunder you (Habakkuk 2:3,5,6-8).
The above prophecy will be fulfilled at the time of the end (cf. “The message was true, but the appointed time was long…in the latter days, for the vision refers to many days yet to come,” Daniel 10:1,14). Daniel 8:19, 11:27,29,35 use the same Hebrew term for “appointed time” as Habakkuk 2:3, while Daniel 10, using a different term, ties the latter days to the time in Daniel 8:19. Habakkuk 2 was not fulfilled in its entirety anciently. Also, it makes little sense that Habakkuk would be directed towards the modern nation of Israel as it does not have enemy creditors. It must be a nation or group of nations with some prominence at the appointed time of the end. One day, foreigners will figure out that the USA cannot possibly pay back its debt, and the creditors will arise as Habakkuk 2:6-8 prophesies.
The nation with the greatest debt of all time is the United States of America, and on a per capita basis the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland has one of the highest–and Canada is looking to greatly increase its debt (see Canada proposing to increase debt to boost and change its economy). Despite posturing, sequestration, budget committees, government shutdowns, etc. that were supposed to correct this, the USA is intent on increasing its total debt–this is unsustainable and cannot continue in perpetuity. The debt is much more dangerous than the predominant view that politicians in the USA publicly state.
The Congressional Budget Office sees increased debt for the DECADES it tried to project for.
This debt is one factor in inflation.

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) – After 238 years, Thursday is the first day the penny will no longer be in production. The U.S. Mint struck its final penny on Wednesday.
Right now, billions of pennies are still in circulation so you can still spend them. But new ones will no longer be made. It’s the first coin to be discontinued in nearly 170 years. The last was the half-cent coin, which stopped being minted back in 1857. Much like the penny, it was phased out when it became more costly to produce than it was actually worth.
Talks of eliminating the penny have been around for years, mainly because the one-cent coin costs four cents to make. Other countries have already stopped minting their one-cent coins. For example, Canada stopped minting its penny back in 2012. …
This isn’t the first time the penny has been impacted by the price of production. The penny’s composition was also changed back in the 1980’s.
When it was introduced as the first U.S. coin back in 1793, the penny was a 100% copper coin. A Symbolic End to an Era
The penny, once a staple of American commerce and culture, has become economically impractical. With over 114 billion pennies currently in circulation, the Treasury Department anticipates annual savings of approximately $56 million by ceasing production. This move reflects broader concerns about the sustainability of fiat currency and the government’s ability to manage fiscal responsibilities effectively.
The Devaluation of Currency
The discontinuation of the penny is more than a cost-saving measure; it underscores the ongoing devaluation of paper money. As inflation erodes purchasing power, the smallest denominations become obsolete, and the public’s trust in fiat currency diminishes. This trend raises critical questions about the future of money and the importance of preserving wealth through tangible assets.
Yes, the penny became dross–something that the Bible warns against! Currency devaluations, which partially happen with massive debt and dollar ‘creation’ are also another form of dross that the US has engaged in for a long time–yet it has been accelerating such in recent years.
This diluting of the value of coinage/currency is condemned in the Bible:
4 Take away the dross from silver (Proverbs 25:4a).
22 Your silver has become dross, Your wine mixed with water. (Isaiah 1:22)
25 I will turn My hand against you, And thoroughly purge away your dross, And take away all your alloy. (Isaiah 1:25)
18 “Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to Me; they are all bronze, tin, iron, and lead, in the midst of a furnace; they have become dross from silver. 19 Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Because you have all become dross, therefore behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. 20 As men gather silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin into the midst of a furnace, to blow fire on it, to melt it; so I will gather you in My anger and in My fury, and I will leave you there and melt you. 21 Yes, I will gather you and blow on you with the fire of My wrath, and you shall be melted in its midst. 22 As silver is melted in the midst of a furnace, so shall you be melted in its midst; then you shall know that I, the Lord, have poured out My fury on you.’” (Ezekiel 22:18-22)
Although the Bible warns against using dross and diluting the money supply, modern ‘experts’ have a different view. The wrong views on economics will lead to economic problems and ultimately the total crash of the dollar of the USA. Economic problems in Europe may well propel the rise of the Beast power that the Bible warns about.
The end result of the coming massive financial crisis will be the END OF THE USA!
However, this will not happen this month, this year, nor even during Donald Trump’s Administration.
But it will come to pass (Habakkuk 2:3,5,6-8; Deuteronomy 28:42-45,47-52).
While your nation probably will not repent (Anglo or otherwise), you can. Do not wait until it is too late. The fact that the USA continues to NOT solve its debt problems should serve as a wake-up call that the end of the USA will be coming as the Bible predicts.
