Another American state looking at permitting infanticide

The State of Maryland is looking at allowing babies up to four weeks old to die without punishing those involved:

Lawmakers now consider legalizing letting babies up to a month old die

Every few months or years, some extremist brings up the idea of allowing abortion after birth. …

Or when, as WND has reported, paramedics in one region of Belgium say it would be all right to end the life of a baby born with a “serious” defect. …

“The Maryland legislative session is in full swing, and once again, abortion advocates are pushing their radical abortion agenda. Recently, we told you about the testimony we presented against Maryland House Bill 1171, which is attempting to codify Roe v. Wade in the Maryland constitution. Now, we’re preparing to submit testimony on Maryland Senate Bill 669 – also known as the Pregnant Person’s Freedom Act of 2022.”

That bill, at first glance, looks like it simply changes “woman” to “pregnant person” in its references.

But its provisions to prevent a “pregnant person” from being investigated for “terminating or attempting to terminate” her own pregnancy is where the plan gets lethal.

“The bill also proposes a revision of the fetal murder/manslaughter statute that would serve to handcuff the investigation of infant deaths unrelated to abortion. In other words – this bill will effectively legalize infanticide,” the ACLJ reported.

“The exact language of the bill states: ‘This section may not be construed to authorize any form of investigation or penalty for a person . . . experiencing a . . . perinatal death related to a failure to act.’ (Emphasis added). In other words, a baby born alive and well could be abandoned and left to starve or freeze to death, and nothing could be done to punish those who participated in that cruel death,” the organization’s report explained.

“The bill also includes a section that would allow ‘a person [to] bring a cause of action for damages if the person was subject to unlawful arrest or criminal investigation for a violation of this section as a result of . . . experiencing a . . . perinatal death.'”

So, the ACLJ reported, “if a baby died because it was abandoned and police investigated and eventually arrested the person responsible for the baby’s death, then the woman could sue the police and get monetary damages for having been investigated and arrested.”

The report said even worse is that the language in the bill “is without clear definition,” so “the bill could prevent any investigations into the death of infants at least seven days AFTER their birth, and may extend to infants as old as four weeks!”

It’s because “perinatal” isn’t defined in the bill and medical tomes say it starts at the “20th to 28th week of gestation and ends 1 to 4 weeks after birth.” 03/09/22 https://www.wnd.com/2022/03/lawmakers-consider-legalizing-letting-baby-die/

Ancient Romans and Greeks reportedly would put babies out on a hill to die. There were reports that in China a few years ago, that the Chinese sometimes would do this (mainly for girl babies) as well.

The reason I put quotes around ‘good’ and ‘expands’ is that those rules should never have been necessary as supposedly the USA already has freedom of religion according to its constitution–but so, supposedly, do many other countries that do not really mean it.

A politician in Alabama seeming supported infanticide (beyond abortion, which is also infanticide) a few years back (see Trump Administration ‘expands’ religious conscious exemptions, while Alabama lawmaker pushes infanticide).

Abortion and other forms of infanticide are wrong–yet various ones keep pushing for more of both of them (see also US leaders endorsing infanticide).

Other American political leaders in some other states have pushed for this as well.

Related to that, the Continuing Church of God (CCOG) put out the following video on our Bible News Prophecy YouTube channel related to infanticide:

12:55

February 23, 2019 was declared a ‘day of mourning’ by some concerned about infanticide and other ramifications of the State of New York’s “Reproductive Health Act.” The American College of Pediatricians reported they were grieved by efforts by several states to allow infanticide. Statements from disgraced Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, as well as proposed laws in Illinois, Rhode Island, and Vermont have gotten more to be concerned about infanticide in the United States of America. Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse proposed S. 311 the ‘Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act failed in a voice vote–and 17 “public health organizations’ denounced S. 311 as “a dangerous government intrustion.” Is the destruction of humans wrong. Does human life begin at conception? Is there a light flash at conception? Has there been infanticide throughout human history? What does God say about the shedding of “innocent blood’? What about Judaism and Molech?

Here is a link to the sermonette video: American Infanticide.

This week, the President of the United States made some comments that were intended to be pro-abortion and perhaps also pro-infanticide:

President Joe Biden marked International Women’s Day on Tuesday by suggesting that women cannot “live up to their full God-given potential” without abortion-on-demand.

“Every person deserves the chance to live up to their full God-given potential, without regard for gender or other factors,” Biden’s statement recognizing the holiday read. “Yet too often, in too many places, women and girls face obstacles that limit their possibilities and undermine their participation in economic, political, and social life.”

Among his efforts to “ma[ke] gender equity a cornerstone of my Administration,” the president listed the fact that he “launched a whole-of-government effort to protect reproductive rights,” a popular euphemism for legal abortion.

During his first week in office, Biden repealed the Mexico City Policy, which bars foreign aid from going to organizations involved with abortion; two months later, he created a White House Gender Policy Council that identified among its goals the promotion of abortion at home and abroad. 03/09/22 https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/women-cant-reach-full-god-given-potential-without-abortion-joe-biden-claims/?utm_source=top_news&utm_campaign=usa

Abortion and infanticide gets babies out of the way for women who do not want them.

It is appalling that Joe Biden claims being able to kill human babies gives people the chance to live up to their “God-given potential.”

The God-given potential for all is to go through this life (and for most also the ‘age to come’) in order to be able to give love in a unique manner to make eternity better for themselves and others (for details, see the free online book The MYSTERY of GOD’s PLAN: Why Did God Create Anything? Why Did God Make You?).

It is horrific to imply that promoting killing babies is what God wants.

As mentioned earlier, infanticide is not new.

Abortion is a form of it.

But so is killing infants or not taking care of them so they die.

Anyway, here is some of what Wikipedia has about infanticide’s history:

Anthropologist Laila Williamson notes that “Infanticide has been practiced on every continent and by people on every level of cultural complexity, from hunter gatherers to high civilizations, including our own ancestors. Rather than being an exception, then, it has been the rule.”

The fact that murder has been going on since Cain murdered Abel (Genesis 4:8) does not justify it.

Wikipedia’s article on Infanticide continued with:

In many past societies, certain forms of infanticide were considered permissible. …

The practice of infanticide has taken many forms over time. Child sacrifice to supernatural figures or forces, such as that believed to have been practiced in ancient Carthage, may be only the most notorious example in the ancient world.

A frequent method of infanticide in ancient Europe and Asia was simply to abandon the infant, leaving it to die by exposure (i.e., hypothermia, hunger, thirst, or animal attack).

On at least one island in Oceania, infanticide was carried out until the 20th century by suffocating the infant,

The historical Greeks considered the practice of adult and child sacrifice barbarous, however, the exposure of newborns was widely practiced in ancient Greece, it was even advocated by Aristotle in the case of congenital deformity — “As to the exposure of children, let there be a law that no deformed child shall live.” …

Infanticide became a capital offense in Roman law in 374 AD, but offenders were rarely if ever prosecuted. …

Judaism prohibits infanticide … Tacitus recorded that the Jews “regard it as a crime to kill any late-born children”. Josephus, whose works give an important insight into 1st-century Judaism, wrote that God “forbids women to cause abortion of what is begotten, or to destroy it afterward”. (Infanticide, Wikipedia, accessed 02/22/19)

Nearly everyone knows the commandments, “Thou shalt not kill” (Exodus 20:13).

The Jews knew them as well as the Hebrew scriptures, which we now call the Old Testament. So, they knew it was wrong.

During Old Testament times, there were people who sacrificed their infants to Molech.

God did not approve:

1 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Again, you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘Whoever of the children of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell in Israel, who gives any of his descendants to Molech, he shall surely be put to death. The people of the land shall stone him with stones. 3 I will set My face against that man, and will cut him off from his people, because he has given some of his descendants to Molech, to defile My sanctuary and profane My holy name. 4 And if the people of the land should in any way hide their eyes from the man, when he gives some of his descendants to Molech, and they do not kill him, 5 then I will set My face against that man and against his family; and I will cut him off from his people, and all who prostitute themselves with him to commit harlotry with Molech. (Leviticus 20:1-5)

7 … Molech the abomination of the people of Ammon. (1 Kings 11:7)

Notice what King Josiah did:

10 And he defiled Topheth, which is in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, that no man might make his son or his daughter pass through the fire to Molech. (2 Kings 23:10)

Here is more on Molech:

Rashi.JPG
Drawing of French Rabbi RAbbi SHlomo Itzhaki

The 12th-century Rashi, commenting on Jeremiah 7:31 stated:

Tophet is Moloch, which was made of brass; and they heated him from his lower parts; and his hands being stretched out, and made hot, they put the child between his hands, and it was burnt; when it vehemently cried out; but the priests beat a drum, that the father might not hear the voice of his son, and his heart might not be moved. (Moloch, Wikipedia, accessed 02/22/19)

Infanticide is wrong. Infanticide is murder. Murder is a sin.

People involved with it need to repent.
