What to know about the Iran war today:
- The U.S. carried out retaliatory strikes against Iran on Friday after Iranian forces hit a cargo vessel in the Strait of Hormuz a day earlier. On Saturday morning, Bahrain reported strikes by Iranian drones, which the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed targeted a “U.S. terrorist army” in the Gulf state.
- President Trump on Friday called Iran’s attack a “foolish violation” of the ceasefire, as Tehran and Washington appear to remain at odds on even basic points in their memorandum of understanding, including control of the strait and how Iran will spend its unfrozen funds. …
Gulf allies condemn Iranian strikes on Bahrain
Several countries in the Gulf — all allies of the United States or members of the Gulf Cooperation Council, which condemned Iran’s actions earlier this week — have voiced support for Bahrain following Iranian drone strikes. …
Iran has insisted ships must obey its orders and is warning it will start charging fees for transit through the strait, through which a fifth of all oil and natural gas once passed.
The U.S. and Gulf Arab states have rejected Iran’s demands. The strait is considered around the world as an international waterway, despite being the territorial waters of Iran and Oman. …
Iran launched a drone assault targeting Bahrain after overnight airstrikes by the United States.

It seems like a deal will really happen this time… finally… given Tehran is boasting of great and solid results for its side. There are reports this includes a significant release of billions in its frozen assets in the West.

- Even if my personal opinion differs, I consider myself obliged to follow the final decision of the system
- Resolution of the Supreme National Security Council is the basis of action, and whatever is approved and deemed appropriate by the Supreme Leader will be mandatory for all of us.
- I regret the neighboring countries being exposed to the consequences of military actions. Our operation targeted the US bases on the soil of these countries.
- Issues and misunderstandings with Gulf countries are being resolved
- Ties with Gulf region countries are on path to improvement.
- Talks do not mean abandoning principles. Iran won’t bow to any kind of bullying or illegal pressure.

So, Iran has, let’s say, mixed feelings about this as at least one major part of its government is not endorsing it as another part will sign it.
While Donald Trump posted, “This Great Deal will bring Peace and Security to the whole Region,” I do not believe that is so. Consider the following prophecy:
3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. (1 Thessalonians 5:3)
While I believe that the above prophecy will have a future fulfillment, it warns us to not blindly accept declarations of peace. This ceasefire is temporal at best related to “Peace and Security.” … In other words, this is not a real peace deal. …

So, the ceasefire part of this peace deal has been temporary. The great deal has not brought peace. Though it again may bring a ceasefire for a time.
However, the Bible shows that a longer, yet temporary, peace deal will come. Daniel was inspired to write the following prophecy:
26 And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
The end of it shall be with a flood,
And till the end of the war desolations are determined.
27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate (Daniel 9:26-27).
The ‘one week’ time element has generally been understood by prophecy watchers to mean a seven year deal (2520 days, based on prophetic 360 day years), that will be broken in the middle of it (after 3 1/2 years). The Hebrew word translated as “week” literally means “sevened” (OT:7620 literal, sevened. Biblesoft’s New Exhaustive Strong’s Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. The ‘with many’ referred to in this passage would seem to indicate that ‘many’ nations, as opposed to one or two, are agreeing to something. Nations such as Jordan and Egypt are likely to be involved as they both have signed peace agreements with Israel in the past.
Notice that the prince is the one who later brings an end to the sacrifices and is involved with the abomination of desolation.
While Daniel 9:26 calls this leader a “prince,” he is later is referred to as the king of a developing European empire (Daniel 11:40; see also King of the North and Europa, the Beast, and the Book of Revelation). Daniel 9:26-27 tie directly in with Daniel 11:
31 And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation. (Daniel 11:31)
The prince who confirmed the deal is the King of the North (cf. Daniel 11:40) when he musters forces, stops sacrifices, and puts in the abomination of desolation.
That said, the deal that Donald Trump announced earlier this month is NOT the deal of Daniel 9:27.
Furthermore, military actions by Iran are NOT over!
The Bible shows that Iran will lead a confederation that will cause great damage to Jerusalem (Isaiah 22:1-14).
