To some readers it may seem like a rhetorical question to ask whether the narrative of George Orwell’s dystopian novel, Nineteen Eighty-Four (or 1984), first published in Britain in 1949, has somehow left its pages and settled, like an ominous miasma, over the contours of social reality. Yet, closer inspection – which means avoiding compromised mainstream news outlets – discloses a disquieting state of affairs.

Everywhere we look in Western countries, from the United Kingdom, through Europe to America (and even India, whose ‘Orwellian digital ID system’ was lavishly praised by British prime minister Keir Starmer recently), what meets the eye is a set of social conditions exhibiting varying stages of precisely the no-longer-fictional totalitarian state depicted by Orwell in 1984. Needless to stress, this constitutes a warning against totalitarianism with its unapologetic manipulation of information and mass surveillance. …

Most people would know that totalitarianism is not a desirable social or political set of circumstances. Even the word sounds ominous, but that is probably only to those who already know what it denotes. I have written on it before, in different contexts, but it is now more relevant than ever. We should remind ourselves what Orwell wrote in that uncannily premonitory novel.

Considering the rapidly expanding and intensifying, electronically mediated strategies of surveillance being implemented globally – no doubt aimed at inculcating in citizens a subliminal awareness that privacy is fast becoming but a distant memory – the following excerpt from Orwell’s text strikes one as disturbingly prophetic, considering the time it was written (1984, Free Planet e-book, p.5):

Behind Winston’s back the voice from the telescreen was still babbling away about pig-iron and the overfulfilment of the Ninth Three-Year Plan. The telescreen received and transmitted simultaneously. Any sound that Winston made, above the level of a very low whisper, would be picked up by it, moreover, so long as he remained within the field of vision which the metal plaque commanded, he could be seen as well as heard. There was of course no way of knowing whether you were being watched at any given moment. How often, or on what system, the Thought Police plugged in on any individual wire was guesswork. It was even conceivable that they watched everybody all the time. But at any rate they could plug in your wire whenever they wanted to. You had to live—did live, from habit that became instinct—in the assumption that every sound you made was overheard, and, except in darkness, every movement scrutinized.

Before adducing compelling instances of the contemporary, real-world surveillance equivalents of 1984’s ‘telescreen,’ which have become sufficiently ‘normal’ to be accepted without much in the form of protest, …

Niamh Harris reports that German MEP Christine Anderson and British politician Nigel Farage have both warned that globalists are frantically trying to establish a fully fledged surveillance state ‘before too many people wake up’ to this state of affairs. Anderson – whose caution is echoed by Farage – points to the irony that people are waking up precisely because globalist efforts to hasten the installation of a totalitarian surveillance state are accelerating and becoming conspicuous. Hence, the more the process is ramped up, the louder critical voices become (and protests are likely to occur), and correlatively, the more anxious the neo-fascists become, to close the net around citizens of the world. She warns that:

‘Digital identity [is] not so your life is easier. It’s so government has total control over you.’

‘Digital currency [is] the crème de la crème of all control mechanisms…What do you think is going to happen the next time you refuse to take an mRNA shot? With the flip of a switch, they just cancel your account. You cannot buy food anymore. You cannot do anything anymore.’ …

Wide Awake Media’s laconic comment on Blair’s words (alluding to the already dystopian surveillance practices in the United Kingdom) says it all: ‘Imagine this kind of system in the hands of a government that imprisons people for memes and jokes.’

It requires no genius to grasp that these examples of attempts at furthering the totalitarian agenda of complete surveillance, coupled with inescapable control mechanisms such as CBDCs, are rooted in the structural dynamics of the (no-longer-fictional) society of Big Brother, as evocatively depicted by Orwell more than 75 years ago. Except that – given the advent of the network society of electronically mediated actions and behaviour – such surveillance and control are at a level of efficiency and pervasiveness that Big Brother could only dream of. …

1984 playbook, which all and sundry among the globalist neo-fascists seem to have adopted (stupidly believing that no one would notice), everything we have been taught in the world that preceded the attempt to establish their vaunted New World Order, has been turned on its head, so that ‘falsehood’ (lying) has now become ‘truth.’ If this sounds far-fetched, take a look at the globalists’ disingenuous pronouncements through the lens of 1984 (p. 6):

The Ministry of Truth—Minitrue, in Newspeak—was startlingly different from any other object in sight. It was an enormous pyramidal structure of glittering white concrete, soaring up, terrace after terrace, 300 metres into the air. From where Winston stood it was just possible to read, picked out on its white face in elegant lettering, the three slogans of the Party:

FREEDOM IS SLAVERY 

IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

While a lot of that is relevant to the USA, are the Europeans, like those in Germany, implementing ‘1984’ controls or something like the totalitarianism of communism?

Report Your Family For Wrong Think, Says German Government Initiative

Germany’s Interior Ministry, headed by Nancy Faeser – known for banning media outlets – and the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women, and Youth have launched a project dubbed, “Advice Compass on Conspiracy Thinking.”

The center is there to provide advice to anyone who “suspect their friends or family members have fallen victim to conspiracy theories,” according to the Interior Ministry. …

“Holistic” is how Faeser chose to describe this approach and the inclusion of the “advice” center into Germany’s overall fight against what the authorities consider to be extremism and disinformation.

Faeser chose to justify the project by linking the issue of conspiracy theories with disinformation and lies, and as has become the habit over these last years, assigning immense power to these phenomena (“They are spread deliberately to divide our society and destroy trust in independent science, free media or democratic institutions.”) …

Faeser observes that people know their family members and friends the best, and are therefore uniquely positioned to know what they think (this is, after all, about policing citizens’ thinking, not actions).

But what to do if a person in your life thinks differently, and cannot be persuaded to change their mind and agree with you? Maybe let them think about what they like?

Not according to Faeser and her political and NGO allies. Hence – “the Compass on Conspiracy Thinking contact point,” is now available to citizens across Germany.

The above sounds a lot that was warned about in George Orwell’s book 1984. Here are some quotes from it:

1. “It was almost normal for people over thirty to be frightened of their own children. And with good reason, for hardly a week passed in which the Times did not carry a paragraph describing how some eavesdropping little sneak—’child hero’ was the phrase generally used—had overheard some compromising remark and denounced its parents to the Thought Police.”
2. “Your worst enemy, he reflected, was your own nervous system. At any moment the tension inside you was liable to translate itself into some visible symptom.”
3. “The family had become in effect an extension of the Thought Police. It was a device by means of which everyone could be surrounded night and day by informers who knew him intimately.”

Also, in places like East Germany, people were encouraged to turn in friends and relatives, as were people in the old Soviet Union, the old Soviet block, and various other communist nations.

Now, the supposedly “free” government of Germany wants that done now.

Jesus warned:

53 Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. (Luke 12:53)

The government in Germany is now encouraging that.

The EU’s Ministry of Truth: A Globalist Power Grab Disguised as a Fight Against ‘Disinformation’

The declared purpose? To combat so-called “disinformation” campaigns from foreign actors like Russia and China. But make no mistake—this is not about protecting truth or democracy. It is a brazen attempt by the EU’s globalist elite to control opposition to narratives, silence dissent, and reshape public opinion to align with their own agenda.

A Veil of Legitimacy for Authoritarian Censorship

The EU’s foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell cloaked the initiative in noble rhetoric, declaring that disinformation undermines democracy by distorting public perception. According to Borrell, democracy cannot function if citizens lack access to “accurate” information—defined, of course, by the very institutions that stand to benefit most from this censorship apparatus.

Under the guise of protecting democracy, the EU has positioned itself as the arbiter of truth. This centralized platform seeks to monitor, analyze, and counter “manipulated” information in real-time, coordinating with NGOs, member states, and cybersecurity agencies. In reality, this infrastructure risks becoming a weapon to stifle independent journalism, dissenting voices, and any narrative that challenges the EU’s policy positions. …

By framing the “struggle for narrative” as an ongoing battle, the EU justifies ever-expanding surveillance and regulation of online platforms and pressuring companies like Twitter to align with its goals. This centralization of control over digital spaces threatens to erode the freedoms of expression and access to diverse viewpoints.

The Real Targets: You and Me

While the EU claims to combat “foreign actors,” its focus on “toxicity” in information opens the door to policing domestic dissent. The language of combating “biased choices” and ensuring the “quality of information” is a thinly veiled justification for narrative engineering. If information contrary to the EU’s worldview is deemed “toxic,” how long before ordinary citizens become the targets of censorship? Yes, the EU is taking steps to control information and yes, this will impact individuals and not just foreign nations.

And according to the Bible, more and more censorship and surveillance is coming.

The type of surveillance and digital proposals are consistent with the coming ‘666’ controls the Bible prophesies in the following:

Yes, we are seeing the formation of the dystopian world of George Orwell’s book.

The Bible warns:

Sadly, the Bible shows that deception and improper censorship will worsen in the future (cf. Revelation 13:14-18; Amos 8:11-12).
