Germany continues to make trade deals around the world. Now its President Steinmeier is trying to make one with Mongolia:

Germany’s Steinmeier seeks deal with mineral-rich Mongolia

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier arrived in the Mongolian capital, Ulaanbaatar, on Wednesday for talks in the resource-rich country as Germany seeks to reduce its reliance on Russia.

The trip comes as the two countries celebrate half a century of diplomatic relations and seek to reach a strategic partnership deal.

Steinmeier met Mongolian President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh for wide-ranging talks on topics including transport, science, archaeology, the environment, energy, the judiciary and economic development.

What do both countries want from one another?

Ulaanbaatar is keen on widening its relations — both politically and economically.

Meanwhile, Germany is looking to reduce its economic dependence on individual states such as Russia.

When Mongolian Prime Minister  Luvsannamsrain Oyun-Erdene visited Berlin last year, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz highlighted the importance of Mongolia as a partner for Germany for raw materials such as copper and rare earth metals.

Mongolia is sparsely populated and relatively poor, but has a lot of minerals and horses.

Last year, Pope Francis went there as part of his international and interfaith agenda (see ‘Pope to include Latter-day Saints in interfaith meeting during groundbreaking visit to Mongolia’).

Back in 2010, Germany’s then Defense Minister visited Mongolia (see Guttenberg to China and Mongolia).

The Europeans are working to secure resources and make trade deals around the world. They are setting the stage to rise up as prophesied in the Bible.

Those in the Caucasus as well as the Malays, Mongolians, Burmese, and even some of the Japanese reportedly have some descent from Ashkenaz.[i] Its geographic reference is in modern Turkey, and Turkey may be involved in this battle on the side of the Medes—which is Russia and at least some in the areas claimed by Ukraine.

The Bible teaches:

¹³ Javan, Tubal, and Meshech were your traders. They bartered human lives and vessels of bronze for your merchandise. ¹⁴ Those from the house of Togarmah traded for your wares with horses, steeds, and mules (Ezekiel 27:13-14).

Togarmah seems to represent Siberia, which is the eastern end of Russia. Russia is a major trader of commodities such as oil and gold. It also exports copper, which is the major component of bronze. Nations like Mongolia, which seems to also have some mixed Togarmah descent,[ii] would seem to fit prophecies related to trade in horses and steeds, and possibly mules.

Since Mongolia has minerals that is another connection to the prophecy in Ezekiel 27.

That said, notice also number 8 of my list of 24 items to prophetically watch in 2024:

8. Trade

Not all warfare is militaristic. There is also economic warfare.

This often involves trade. …

Europe will reach out to various ones in Asia and Africa, as well as Latin America. In the next several years, deals and more trade will occur with Africa, Asia, and Latin America. …

For a time, Babylon will dominate world trade:

2 And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! 3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.” (Revelation 18:2-3).

While ‘Babylon’ will not fully reign in 2024, with the USA pulling out of trade deals and/or wishing to change them, steps are occurring that are pushing Europe to dominate trade (watch Trade Wars: Are COG warnings coming to pass?).

The final time of the Gentiles is approaching. We are seeing BRICS, the Global South, the EU, and others working on ways to trade and not have to deal with the descendants of Ephraim (UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand) and Manasseh (the USA).

The Europeans will work with many nations to secure stronger trade agreements.

Back in 1984, the old Worldwide Church of God published the following:

The Bible foretells a gigantic world-trading system to be formed in our time, possessing worldwide political power and influence. Ultimately, this prophesied New Europe will possess greater population, greater industrial and economic capacity, and greater military power than either the Soviet Union or the United States now possesses!

Nearly a quarter century ago, editor in chief Herbert W. Armstrong declared with reference to the newly created Common Market:

“It is one of the crucial developments of world history. It is bringing to life a slumbering giant. It is developing into — creating — a GIANT NEW WORLD POWER, that will be mightier than either Russia or the United States! It is swiftly, dynamically, fulfilling PROPHECY! It is resurrecting the ROMAN EMPIRE!” (Plain Truth, September 1961).

The dream of a united Europe has permeated the history of the Continent. The original Roman Empire fell in A.D. 476. But Bible prophecy revealed it was to be restored again and again over the centuries. The most recent attempt to revive the Roman Empire was by Benito Mussolini. Today we see the last resurrection of the Roman Empire springing to economic life!  (Stump K. Beyond Europe’s Present Crisis COLOSSUS IN THE MAKING. Plain Truth, September 1984)

Since that was written, most of Europe has joined the European Union, which has a population greater than the United States as well as Russia. It has massive technological power and is committed to increasing its trade reach as well as military power.

While there will be economic problems in Europe, let it also be stated that the Bible shows that Europe will rise up and become even more prominent in trade.

Trade will be a factor in what can be called World War III–and this war will be a conflict with Europe (but the ‘shooting’ aspect of this will not happen before 2027–with even that probably being too early; for some details, see When Will the Great Tribulation Begin?).

We continue to see steps that are leading up to it.
