Hours after the above tweet, a deal was announced:

Israeli Politicians Form Fragile Coalition to Unseat Netanyahu

June 2, 2021

An ideologically broad group of Israeli political parties struck a fragile deal late Wednesday that could unseat longtime Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Yesh Atid party head Yair Lapid said late Wednesday, less than an hour before a midnight deadline, that he had secured the support of the majority of the Knesset.

Naftali Bennett, who leads the hardline nationalist Yamina party, announced his support for Lapid’s coalition on Sunday.

The agreement between the two would see Bennett serve the first two years as prime minister before Lapid rotates into the role.

President Reuven Rivlin gave Lapid the opportunity to bring together a coalition of parties that could amass a majority in the 120-seat Knesset after Netanyahu failed to do so in early May.

The Knesset is now required to make a vote of confidence in the new government, a procedure that cannot be approved until the next plenum session, which is scheduled for Monday. Once approved, Knesset speaker, Likud’s Yariv Levin, then has up to seven days to schedule the vote.

But as it stands, Lapid’s coalition has a thin majority in the Knesset. The government would be sworn in 10 days from Wednesday — enough time for Netanyahu’s camp to potentially bring lawmakers to their side and vote against it.

Israel has been in a period of political turmoil for two years, during which the country has held four elections.

After two 2019 elections, Netanyahu failed to form a coalition but stayed on as caretaker prime minister. A year ago, he formed a coalition government with rival Benny Gantz, but that fell apart in December as parliament failed to pass a budget.

The 71-year-old Netanyahu has been prime minister since 2009 after holding the same office for three years in the 1990s. https://www.voanews.com/middle-east/israeli-politicians-form-fragile-coalition-unseat-netanyahu

Why is this relevant?

Several reasons.

This deal, if it holds and is approved, will replace Benjamin Netanyahu. It will also be fragile, and may lead to a ‘no confidence’ vote if there is another set of rockets going back and forth between Hamas and Israel as the Arab faction may object to how the new Prime Minister would handle such a situation.

Beyond that, it proves a view that I have long held. Notice something from 2008:

Because Israel has a parliamentary system of governance and is normally governed by a coalition of parties, I believe that at some point in time a coalition party that insists on animal sacrifices will become part of the top governance and the sacrifices will then begin–though they may last only a very short period of time–but long enough for the King of the North to stop them per Daniel 11:31. (Thiel B. Animal Sacrifice Planned for April 6? COGwriter, April 3, 2008).

What was announced late today is consistent with the possibility of a future compromised parliament that could result in changes that many in Israel and the world would not think could otherwise happen.

If Naftali Bennett becomes Prime Minister, I was told he would be the first Orthodox Jew to do so. He may be inclined to be more open to the idea of regular animal sacrifices.

The reality is that certain Jews (including one or more other current members of Israel’s Knesset) want a ‘third temple’ as well as the right to perform daily animal sacrifices.

While an actual massive temple is not needed for sacrifices according to the Bible (Ezra 3:6), a sacrificial altar is (Ezra 3:2-3).

This has been confirmed to me personally by both the Temple Institute and the reconstituted Sanhedrin (details are in the article: Why is a Jewish Temple in Jerusalem Not Required?).

Back in December 2018, those groups were also involved in ‘dedicating’ an altar to have regular animal sacrifices. We even made the following video related to that:

6:57

Sanhedrin makes burnt offering to dedicate altar!

The Reconstituted Sanhedrin performed a ceremony on December 10, 2018 to dedicate a new altar for the use of daily sacrifices. High Priest Rabbi Baruch Kahane officiated. How does this align with Bible prophecy? Daniel wrote three times that the daily sacrifices must stop, hence they first must resume. The Great Tribulation will begin shortly after these sacrifices stop. In this video Dr. Thiel, who has also been to Israel and spoken with The Temple Institute quotes several scriptures and explains why the actions by the Sanhedrin align with prophecy and the end times.

Here is a link to our video: Sanhedrin makes burnt offering to dedicate altar!

So, since they have a ‘dedicated altar’ why haven’t the Jews begun daily sacrifices?

While, technically, Israeli courts have ruled that the Jews have the right to do so, they have also concluded that in the current political climate that they cannot yet be allowed.

But what if the political climate in Israel’s Knesset (its parliament) or elsewhere changes?

Well, that something will change as the Bible shows that sacrifices will exist, and then be stopped, in the last days there (cf. Daniel 9:27 and 11:31)

I do believe that the time will come when Israel will allow those sacrifices and having “pro-sacrifice” politicians, which the “pro-third temple” politicians are, will be a factor in allowing that to happen.

Since the Bible teaches that animal sacrifices will stop (Daniel 9:27, 11:31, 12:11), they must first resume. One person at the Temple Institute reported to one of our sons that this could be done within hours of getting permission. Someone there also told me personally that the Temple Institute DID NOT NEED a massive Jewish temple in order to resume animal sacrifices. They basically only need Levites and an altar, and they have that.

And getting permission to resume animal sacrifices is not impossible–particularly if the Knesset gets a block of politicians that want them.

Although it may well take a war, peace deal, and/or political gridlock for that to happen, it will come to pass as the Bible teaches.

It has been stated that “politics makes strange bedfellows.”

Today’s political agreement in Israel demonstrates that.

But it also shows that yes, politicians can agree to things others would not think possible–and the biblical reality is that sacrifices will resume in Israel.

Politics will play a role!

Does the ‘Cenacle’ deal have prophetic ramifications? After a 20 year negotiation, the Church of Rome has negotiated the right to have Catholic mass in the building known as the Cenacle. It is in the area where the Church of God on Jerusalem’s Western Hill once stood. This is believed to be the location of the earliest Christian church building.
